2 reasons I think: 1. Teams tend to drop off against City not allowing space in behind like at Villa. 2. Pep doesn't ask him to play this role (playing balls in behind), told to keep onto the ball more and dictate the tempo of attacks.
he defeinitely does have less space in behind to attack. still sad to see him pass back or sideways everytime. Doku is aggressive and always runs at the defender when he has a 1 v 1. I like Grealish but if I wanted to win, I would start Doku every game until Jack attacks like he does
I might be wrong but I really believe he was bought as a replacement for Bernardo. Maybe after observing him in training they've come to the conclusion that he's not suitable to playing as a midfielder so they've tried their best to utilise him as a winger.@@scomp17
Jack Grealish has huge talent and he can play world class but the system of Guardiola makes him play limited but secure.Henry once scored a great goal playing under Guardiola but got subbed off due to not listening to him and staying in position. So many idiots pute hate on Grealish but don't realize if he keeps dribbling or going direct to much then he will be put on the bench. Today he got subbed on against spurs and scored also. He maybe has more Goals against the top 6 than Cristiano(ofc Cristiano is the better player)
He's not as exciting as he was at Villa, but what he does still is world class and takes world class ability. He constantly draws people to himself, dribbles out of tight situations, always keeps the ball under big pressure, and then plays a simple pass to the middle. Just because that pass is simple it doesn't mean it's nlt dangerous. He creates tons of space for other City players by drawing opponents to himself then breating them and then he plays that "simple pass. He does in on world class level. Most other players, even top one's, would be losing the ball constantly in those situations. He's a magician on the ball. Btw, Doku only plays more atm because Pep is saving Grealish for the most important part of the season. Remember this 😉 Don't be surprised to see Grealish as one of the most important City players in a couple of months again, as in last season. 🙂
You have the see the difference in terms of the bigger picture. He is now in a team which is constantly in the top 5 and Grealish has since won so many trophies with the club since coming on. He is part of a much bigger system at city where each player has a specific role. This is the thing players have to realise. These players have to adapt in order to achieve something greater then individual performances. Doku is faster then Grealish so Pep gives him the liberty to take on defenders multiple times while with Grealish it is clear that the dribbling aspect of his games comes alive in the later moments of the game, when players arent expecting it. I thik this is how Pep sets up Grealish with so far what I have seen
@@efzyhing2384 He does nothing on the pitch nowdays. Just passing backwards or trying to slow the game and keep possession. Of course he is not a 1v1 winger, but he used to be way more creative at Villa.

At Villa he played with 100% freedom, can do whatever he wants without any limit.
Because now he is system player
Levels above trent
Imagine how many Haaland would score playing with this version of Grealish
It’s called playing a different position and role…
man city just simply does not need this much creative output from grealish. City are robotic, each player an efficient and boring cog.
Maybe Man City bought him to neutralize him so he won't take his skills to a big club and turn into KDB.
Pep saw the fact that he had the skills to win against City so bought him and ruined him
He is not system player
Just following pep’s stupid instructions

grealish is a bench warmer nowadays mate
Why is he always wearing very short socks? I think it is unnecessary.
why are long socks necessary then?

Top class player

He was so good at Villa. Now he is probably one of the worst players in the PL. So boring to watch...
