Amos, I want to let you know I my only child was killed and you pulled me through it, only your voice and music calmed me down otherwise I wouldn't be here today. My heart thanks you Amos since she left a treasure for me ... a grandson & without & your talents, he would have been here on earth alone. I found strength & the will to go on for his sake. My heart thanks you Amos!! I just can't get through the day without hearing you sing. You are so gifted, & loved by thousands, including me!!
Ann Corbin you just described how I feel. Can't really describe whats going but when I don't to leave my apartment I jump up grab my earbuds, dog and his leash and walk with Amos on my phone. Thank God for his beautiful creation and me finding Amos Lee.
Somehow Amos captured that cold bleak "inventive/creative time" between 3-5am in the morning when you work the night shift and you feel like the whole world is asleep yet you are alone with your thoughts....man, I love Amos!! Saw him in Toronto just a few years ago (2018) at a nasty musty old theatre - hope he gets a better venue next time hahaha!
I just recently got the oppurtunity to see this man perform live in portland and it was one of those moments that was real. This man is pure, he is real, and he has such a humble vibe that you just can't help to love. He moves people, me especially I just want to take the time and tell you all how incredible he is. love you amos, keep doing what you do, your goin' places.
I hate to say this, but his youth as a singer shows in this version of this song. It's still amazing, but he hasn't grown into his sound like he has when he recorded it for the album, for the live stuff after, and his newer albums. I wouldn't dare say this is a bad video, but you can see how much he's grown as an artist in taking this same song HERE, and comparing it to how he sings it 2 years later. WOW. What an artist!
I like the fact that he is not really recognizable. he still gets to do his own music as he wants.. And man oh man how i like how and what hes doing! In fact i love it and has done since 2004! Peace!
Love the description, it right on the mark. Amos sounds like a combination of so many greats & he does have a sweet & sincere aura about him, no hint of pretense or conceit. He gives us his all~humble & honest, he's completely genuine~ the "real deal." And as his voice is easy on the ears, he's very easy on the eyes as well, lol!
This is when I was blessed by Amos lee: Thank you God! Watching again. This is the song that made me call PBS, I was told he was Ben Harper, who I like, but there's only one Amos Lee. 👏
got to say the guy is talented and remind me of a great artist that left this ol world real early way before his time.Yes i am talking about Jim Croce the most talented gifted musician coming around in the early 70'S.Amos good luck you want need it,there is someone that inspiring you . rod aspen
@JMan8526 i dig you but i gotta say the "rawness" of this version and this performance is breathtaking. I'd take this version any given time of the day.
As in the interpretation of visual artwork, do any two people agree on the slightest abstraction of the lyrics? Read into it what you feel. This is the beauty of art.
The man can channel that soul through a song can't he. Mark thanks for pointing me in Amos's direction. Anyone know if that's his brother singing with him on the bass.
@sergateway He's got 3 albums. this is off his second, Supply and Demand. Other two are Amos Lee, and Last Days at the Lodge. New album comes out Jan 25th, 2011: Mission Bell.
I feel like the rhythm is borrowed from a country song and I cant think of it for the life of me... It’s driving me crazy Edit: The song I’m thinking of borrowed from this song Kane Brown - weekend
Hey man I'm kinda like a woman at least in my head and in particular when I'm focusing on what's best you know people and stuff and spaces like what I feel about .never mind I want to be respectful because this is it how I feel when I remembered you..
He reminds me of a snoop dog of country. Its ironic though....coffee and cocaine doesn't seem like a good way to get home safe. I don't think anyway. This guy is good though. For sure. Very good song.

Simply beautiful.

He sounds a bit like John Prine in this song.....sweet!

I liked Tom Hanks' solo at 2:13!
The drummer makes the whole video
i would like to see him work with Jakob Dylan,in tiny desk session,
