Especially considering she almost became his daughter in law. Or would have if Andrew had not broken up with her in a letter (Invasion) Foyle even apologises to her at the end for being too quick to pass judgement on her for befriending one of the American soldiers
Yes, it was. Father/ daughter, but with an undefineable frisson which added immensely to the allure. 2 real craftsmen of the acting world making it work.
Despite the age difference, Foyle's bereavement, the occasional female interest in him from both his past and present, and the love interests of Sam, (including of course Foyle's son Andrew) may we be allowed to detect just the teeniest bit of sexual frisson between them? I think so. What a wonderful series.
Why a plain girl was cast in the part of one, written to be irresistible to young men who instantly needed a date , beat me. Good actress, yes, but she that did not fit in that regard..
I'm not sure that was quite how Anthony Horowitz saw the character. Plucky, resourceful, vulnerable, unintentionally charming. And I'd never call her "plain".
What an excellent choice of music!
I love their father/daughter type relationship!

Sam really needed looking after who better than Foyle. It was a great series and the characters were p!ayed really well by both actors.
Gorgeous. Thanks again.

This is a wonderful montage! I love Foyle's War and I wish Sam and Foyle had ended up together.
He was EASILY old enough to be her father! She dated his SON! That would have been totally unrealistic for the period, and SOOOOOO icky!
She is driving me crazy.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The sexiest and most desirable woman on planet earth.
I admit it. I am in love with her.
Does she come with the uniform ?

Sounds like you've not been around long enough to appreciate beauty.
