- Scenes from "Casualties of War" (S4 E4, 2007) and "Plan of Attack" (S5 E1, 2008) starring Michael Kitchen as Christopher Foyle, Michael Jayston as AC Henry Parkins and Honeysuckle Weeks as Samantha Stewart.
I love the way Foyle, with absolute calm and icy politeness, takes absolutely no bullshit whatsoever.
I'm very old. Foyle's War is by far, the very best television series I've ever had the privilege to enjoy. Michael Kitchen and his supporting cast are masters of their art.
You hear of the Brits as being calm & cool under pressure, but MK epitomizes the stoicism of the British! I am a true “Kitchenette “. LOVE the man, the series and any movie or show he’s been a part of!❤❤😊
one of my favourite series ever.
One of the best series ever produced. Great story lines and the casting was perfection.
Foyle is so humble in dealing with that uppity assistant commissioner. When the AC steps out of line, Foyle lays down the law and makes the AC swallow his pride.
Young or old, Mr. Kitchen is an alluring man. He is so much more beloved than he might every imagine.
RIP Michael Jayston a good actor
A brilliant actor who deserved much more love and recognition.
Yes the best ever Michael kitchen is a brilliant actor 👍😆😀
Brilliant series, brilliant actors !😃😃
the absolute calm of foyle "I know what you want and the answer is still 'no'" he holds all the cards and they both know it
I'm distressed. Can't find Foyles War on any of my choices. I want to see them all again 😢😢😢
SIR you are a master of your profession to the highest degree. You have given me hours of absolute pleasure with the performance you and your team again thank you let’s hope we see you back very soon there is not a word that expresses how good that series’s was.
Thank you for your beautiful comment! Is it about Michael Jayston or Michael Kitchen? They are both marvellous.🤗🥰🤗
'Anything you care to share with me?' (1:33) Anachronistic. In the 1940s, people didn't use the word 'share' the way they do now. They used less fluffy/pretentious words like 'tell' and 'inform'.
In an appropriate context it was a polite way of speaking. Also slightly sarcastic.
They might not have talked about being in a "relationship" either.
Just found out Michael has died🙏🙏🙏🙏RIP
A great actor who played many roles from the good old days of TV.
🏴🏴❤️❤️❤️👍 👍
He is a bright star in Heaven now. He will always be very loved. I knew this would happen but I still can't believe he is no longer with us, he was so full of life and joy.
Ironically Honeysuckle Weeks has multiple driving bans.
She's still beautiful! I'd like to borrow her too, but I can drive myself.....
Micheal Jayston did recordings of a number of books by John Le Carre. He was by far the best interpreter/ performer of his novels. I wish he had done them all.
And was in 'Tinker,Tailor', too
@@MkVII Was too bad he missed out on Smiley's People due to a drinking problem.
didn't know that. In 'Michael Jayston Remembers' last year, before the rerun of 'Tinker,Tailor', he alluded to not being in it "for various reasons".
@@kindnessfirst9670 No, he wasn't in Smiley's People because he had already signed for The Sound of Music on stage with Petula Clark, and couldn't do both.

Parkins is a Colonel Blimp and then he wants to "manipulate" justice.
M.Jayston is superb in this role as AC!
He is, I wish he were in more episodes of Foyle's War. ❤
No one makes films to the standard of the brits this is a prime example superb series start to finish enjoyed every minute why they don’t make anymore is above me no the put on things like big brother come dancing and so forth this is why are leaving and buying videos better money spent than on rubbish pleas note mr disgruntled
Thank you! Absolutely. And unfortunately YT has been blocking every episode of this brilliant series.
Great character.
