I had the honour of being invited a few years ago, there were plenty of royals there's well as Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip, and yes, it did rain but cleared up at the end. A very special day.
I won tickets, (I can’t remember if it was 2001 or 2002), to the pop concert held in Buckingham palace gardens for the Queens Golden Jubilee. We had a picnic on the lawn first and were all given half bottles of champagne and then got seated and watched such an amazing concert. All the Royal Family were in the Royal box just behind us. The next day, we then watched the carriage procession with the golden Coronation coach carrying Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip and then all the other open air carriages carrying all the rest of the Royals behind them. To make the weekend even more special, when we received our welcome pack with our tickets before we went, Buckingham Palace had arranged with all of the really posh Hotels to let their concert goers stay for two nights and breakfast for only £50!! We stayed in a five star hotel on Charingcross Road, just near Trafalgar Square. The hotel was also doubling up as where the police were running their security operation for the next days carriage procession, so it was incredibly interesting to watch and meet all the police sniffer dogs. Just added up to the most amazing weekend of my life!😊❤️😊
