This was my childhood, 90's and 00's. Breaks my heart it's gone. I miss it. Woolworth with the toy, pic n mix and the old book store to find weird comics. I used to take all the giant care board cut outs outside the game shop. Really cool ones. Proper laugh. The old tunnel that reeked of pee to get to pizza costelo. All gone now
Nice vid, mate. Got a couple of similar ones on my channel that you and your viewers may be interested in if you want to see more of the place. Thanks for sharing!
That is one depressing looking shopping centre. I went a there a few times as a kid to use the bowling alley and I don't remember it being this run down in the late 90s/early 00s. Also when did teh paint change from a reddish pinkish colour to blue? Glad its being demolished and the space can be much better utilised.
I am devastated that it is being demolished , they could have just heavily renovated it for the residents al ready living there Instead they are knocking it down to build million pound apartments to move rich yuppies in , plus building new shops for them The council let it get run down because it was their plan for a long time That was what the protest that day was about It changed from red and cream to blue around 2013 or so
@@jonathanspencer5884 I do agree about the housing. None of the locals will be able to afford the flats that will be bolt. I know we desperately need more housing in London but the housing needs to be affordable and the undoubtedly won't be. At this point I think the building is beyond renovation so needs to be demolished and a new, decent quality shopping centre built in its place that will attract some decent retailers. If there isn't enough demand to fill the space with retailers then offer some of the units as offices for small businesses.
Me and my farther went there. I have many happy memories of the place in the 70's. To raise it to the floor is killing me, and what about all the traders? Somethings wrong here, I know not what.
There is definitely some thing wrong with it all It is the insistence of the powers that be to get rid of all that is of the past and replace it with soul less and for the rich only modernisation just for their monetary gain A huge part of my child hood is being destroyed

Let’s face it. Society hit its peak mid 80s. It’s been downhill since then! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
