Lakitu Party was inspired by playing many hours of Super Mario 35 and the desire to celebrate a lifelong love of video games. "Lakitu Party" is a phrase that was popularized by @Kosmic, a Super Mario Bros World Record Holder, and we thought the name sounded like the name of a catchy dance song - so we made one!

I'm glad we got to play a game like this though. For sure it's being missed, but specifically the Lakitu "party" is something we all can agree on that it's something that was fun to experience for just a few times, just to realize you can't beat it as you either drain your coins by getting damage or trying to play it so safe you'll lose time and therefore get damaged anyway. xD
Thanks for creating this video and for just this tribute in general. The song is such a mood. xD
For a game that was surprisingly simple and easy to go through for all well-known Super Mario Bros. players, how hectic it could be to the point we literally built parties and invasions to the point the game turned into a slideshow, and even managed to host competitions with a game like this is still something that blows my mind to this day. May we get another game like this in the future. :)

I love the lyrics to the song, but I gotta say I absolutely hate the digital voice. Sorry it's just not my thing. I definitely would listen to this song all day long if it were sung in a more traditional fashion without the digital voice because the lyrics are pretty fire.
