I had this tank as my FIRST premium back in 2016 WoT console. I have a picture of my first really great game with matchmaking tier VII to tier IX. 3,500 damage, 1,750 assisted, 1,000 blocked, and 4 kills. 1,800+ base exp, FIRST CLASS. WoT console used to be a great game, especially on 360.
The ace tanker took me months later to get, over 7k damage in tier nine matchmaking with 2,100+ base experience. It was a lemming rush game on steppes and I was the parasite tier seven that no one looked at.
This thing is a blast from the past makes you feel like you're playing the original KV-1S

it was also my 1. premium tank, since i get thrown as cannon fodder in tier IX matches i did not play that tank anymore
Got it on a random rental. Aced it within the 10 games. Have just bought it. It's such a beast even punching up. That 6 sec reload and 3.7k dpm is just beautiful!
Had this vehicle for a while before i traded it for the WZ 120 FT, beautiful tank when you fight equal tier, my second battle was like 3,3k and seven kills.
I've been top damage and exp in a Tier 9 game with 8 kills, in this beauty.
yeah, those 2 tanks are quite similar...the SU is more powerful cuz of tier for tier alfadmg and camo
WZ-120-1GFT is pretty much an up tiered chinese version of the Su-122-44. I like them both!
That TD is an ATM machine....I got 9 kills in it the first time they sold it...One of the top 10 best credit makers...

Hey Skill, on your index there are 4 equipment builds for this tank and none of them include binos.
I love my SU-122-44. One of the best Prem TD's in the game. Earlier on in it's life in the game, nothing could circle it, it had the fastest hull rotation in the game. I took out many a tank that tried.

SU-122-44 is one of the most enjoyable tank destroyers i played on. It makes me fall in love with tier 7s.
The SU-122-44 is the first premium TD I ever bought way back around in 2013/2014!
Yes this beautiful TD will always have a special place in my heart too.
Yes the DPM of this tank is superb but the gun penetration is pathetic nowadays. When I returned to WoT in 2020, I bought this TD into the battlefield for a few games & I was surprised to see the Defender and I cannot pen it. So I stopped playing it since.

Amazingly they made the T9 SU-122-54 a premium T7 and named it SU-122-44 it is roughly the same specs the T9 used to be.......
I think the only difference is the T9 had IS-8(T-10) gun

funny it had more dpm than the 122-54 by a large margin
Definitely going to buy this when it's on sale, on paper the gun is very innacurate, in practice in these games it was a laser :D

One of the old TDs that don't lose all the camo when they shot and I think it's one of those tanks that benefits a lot from the new equipment and field modifications.

Was about to write this trivia fact too xD - nice to see the wisdom is still around.
It's indeed the only other TD that has reduced camo-drop after firing. Most people know this about the E-25 but it also affects this oldschool killer. Just not that common knowledge, as the overall camo of the SU isn't as high... but even RHM or UDES are dropping more camo after shooting :)
Totally average player (about 49% career overall), after a sequence of crappy games the other night swapped to the Hammer and was well rewarded. After a bit of a slow start on the 0 line moved back to base defence, managed to carry the game with a nice ending - Enemy Base captured and 15-13..killing the last enemy just after I capped out. 7 kills, Ace Tanker, Top Gun, Steel Wall, HIgh Calibre, Shellproof.
4 or 5 years ago im not sure, i traded mine, because i was to unexperienced. i died to fast and didnt used the camo mechanics of the game plus on top, i used very bad crews. surely it was the fault of the tank and not my incompetence ;-) now i know a lot about the game and the wz tier 8 td works very fine for me. in future when 122-44 is on discount i will buy it again.

SU-122-44 is crap except for players that War Gaming shines on. I miss 75% of fully aimed shot with 5 skill crew and all field mods. It was good once not anymore. NA Server

I had more games in this than anything else......and it got even better with bond gear and a 7 skill crew....

@@peaksofblue I liked Vents, Aiming mod and either binos or optics. The DPM is high enough that I felt the rammer wasn't neccessarily essential.
That said, I played before field mods so I don't know what combinations I would use now.
@@MercutioUK2006 good to know! Do you mean improved sniping or GLD? I have been trying to figure out some shenanigans with the fact that it keeps its camo value, so I've been experimenting a lot

for some reason i hate this tank. no gun depression and I cant hit shit. also I seem to be only getting into tier 9 matchmaking. very frustrating tank to play for me

I have been a long time player of WoTs at around 10 years, and I totally trust Skillz assessments of tanks. Unfortunately "my" SU-122-44 will not pen the enemy in the first games I have had in it. Both tier 7 and 8s, with AP and Premium shells. My average pen has been about 30-40% of all shots landed. Unacceptable. Has anyone else experienced this? I know that premium tanks have hard stats, but can vary some from player to player. Lastly, I notice that Skillz shell velocity on AP and HE seems much quicker than my tank.
It doesn't hit where I aim like ever. It reminded me of playing with grille 15.

My first premium! Biggest problem is that it is tier 7. You are almost always bottom tier unfortunately due to most players running tier 8-9
this is my first premium tank in this game...like it
i like chinese counterpart much more,360 view range vs 330,193 pen vs 175,5 gun depression vs 4,12 gun arc vs 8,chinese td is faster forward and backward.only advantage su have is better armor and dpm.and you can forget armor most of the time.
The su keeps its camo low when firing as it was one of the first premium tds in the game and wg didn't wanna remove the mechanic from the premium tds as people spent real money on them.
In high tier battles I prefer the T-34-2G FT, but if top tier I prefer the SU-122-44 more.
I am getting so much ammo racks with this tank, it is crazy how much I get them

Skill, Look at the team line up especially in second game. All most every player on your team has clan marks or special marks before their names. Then look at the loosing team, hardly any? That's why games are so short. Then take into consideration the tank line up's. No wonder games only last 3 minutes! I really believe this is no accident. I have been or should say had been paying close attention to this for some time and I have to say the game was not fun to win 15-2 or loose 2-15. The games just are totally out of hand on War Gaming's part. The only game that lasted more than 6 min. was the last one which was evenly matched and rarely happens anymore. I think you would agree. I also believe if you were not a CC, you wouldn't even be playing this game anymore!
I agree 90%( think Skill enjoys WoT still mostly) MM is a pile of 🐂💩. There is an old YT" how accurate is the xvm win chance calculator" This clearly shows how good the xvm algorithm works and win or loose is by far mostly made by the MM. Sadly this yt has still under 1k views, because most player like people prefer lie to themselves , uncomfortable fakts lead to cognitive dissonance....

@@phlashtheband4939 checked it right now, didn't find it anymore although last time 1-2 years ago easy to find 🤔 I think he's ( an USA guy) has deleted his channel. But I remember his result conclusions: played 3 k games ( good not outstanding Player Overall), may win and lost in row 13 games, xvm algorithm worked really good between 40-60 %, on the extreme edge 60 only ok he lost even more/ won even more, as we have anonymity today xvm can't work correctly today, nevertheless the fact the the MM creates winner or looser mostly ( 80% if not platooned) is still the bitter but unpopular truth...
