      Yeah, a lot of people don't realize that AR-15s aren't actually a powerful gun (compared to other guns).
      Their caliber is used for coyote hunting and is considered a bit unethical to use on a deer because it's just too small.

    Your going to have a hell of a time dropping a rhino with an AR-15…… despite what the news and media portray it’s a pretty weak round about the largest game you could take effectively is white tail and that’s still pushing it.

  • @graydoncarruth5044
    @graydoncarruth5044 Год назад +19

    I’m guessing the poachers were armed with something heavier than an AR-15. That little .223 caliber wouldn’t even slow a lion down, much less a rhino.
    That said, let’s start telling poachers to use AR-15s!
    And go team lion😂

    • @johnnyringo2690
      @johnnyringo2690 Год назад +1

      A .223 would definitely slow a lion down. A broken leg is a broken leg regardless of how it’s been broken. A head shot to a rhino is a headshot. .223/.556 green tips will go through several brake rotors and calibers. Speed is key not mass. The more speed, the more kinetic energy is produced. A good exaggerated example of this is dropping a grain of sand at the speed of light on simulation programs towards Earth.

    • @obeytheshark
      @obeytheshark Год назад +4

      @@johnnyringo2690you need a combination of speed and mass which is essentially momentum. Hunting a big game animal with an AR15 is very inhumane, even if you think you’re going to hit headshots

    • @johnnyringo2690
      @johnnyringo2690 Год назад

      @@obeytheshark didn’t say it wasn’t inhumane. I said a green tip.233/.556 would easily go through a rhino especially in the head at 50
      Yards. Green tips go through steel. Animals are fleshy. Momentum is not “essentially” speed plus mass. Momentum:strength or force gained by motion or by a series of events.

    • @obeytheshark
      @obeytheshark Год назад +1

      @@johnnyringo2690 you should brush up on your physics because momentum is mass times velocity and force is the change in momentum over change in time. Therefor to increase stopping power, you need to increase both speed and mass of your bullet.

      So few here know much about .223. It will kill a rhino or elephant with the right bullet and shot placement. Might take a while if shot is off. And in the right hands it is a great deer gun. Poachers kill elephant with .22 lr fill the lungs with little holes it will die in a day or so, they just follow them till they die.

      A .22 LR can also penetrate body armor if you got the exact same spot a bunch of times. I would highly doubt the poachers are using AR15s. Especially in lion country. Maybe an AR 10 but an AR 15 would be ridiculous.

Never go into the wild without binoculars, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, an RPG launcher, a pair of Uzis, a Glock strapped to an ankle holster, backpack full of grenades, a flame thrower, a dagger, a spear, a shield, mosquito repellant spray, and a complete full body armor suit. I know that's a lot to carry but these animals must learn the difference between apex predators and the ultimate apex predator. They try to come at me with their growls and reptilian eyes, I'll pull my Uzis up and rat tat tat tat tat tat, rat tat tat tat tat. That's right, they better run. If they come back with their homies, I'll take it up a notch too. Down with the Uzis', up with the RPG launcher. They wouldn't want any of this smoke. I didn’t know they had AR-15’s but I can tell you how the lions got past it. The AR15 fires a 5.56x45mm round, which is a .22 caliber round invented for rodents and varmint. It does not have the capability to bring down a lion without well placed shots. That’s why they use large caliber rifle rounds instead for hunting, and also why it’s illegal to hunt big game with an AR15 for fear of causing suffering because it didn’t just die.

    This is by far the greatest news story since the invention of the wheel...3 great things happened here...1, Rhinos saved, 2, Lions fed, and 3 the best part...less poachers..
    Seems like natures animals are starting a revolution, bless thier little souls..🎉🐗🦓🐊🐍🐘🦏🐅🦛 🦅🦨...skunks, really you say, yes skunks, i love them...all creatures great and small.

    It's a 99% sure thing they did not have automatic weapons and they also most likely didn't have an AR-15, maybe an AR-10 variant but most likely they were using a large caliber bolt action rifle. And they were going to sell the horn to the chinese

    Love the story. But we can tell who the anti gun propagandist is if he erroneously believes an AR could take down either a rhino or a lion. Big game rifles make the AR look like a cap gun.

    Pretty sure it's gonna be of the kalashnikov variety in rhino poaching territory. Even the armed park rangers carry ak there at least the ones I have seen..at home...on my tv, so I may be wrong

    As an avid gun guy unless you get a perfect brain shot you are not mowing down a lion with an AR in close quarters at night before you get dead. Most rhino and elephant poachers are using AKs or much more rudimentary rifles.
