Beautiful snake
I was once on Rhodes, a beautiful island in terms of scenery! I saw lots of snakes that had been run over on the streets and lots of tortured animals. That was my last holiday in a Mediterranean country. I was also shocked by the amount of rubbish and the careless way everything was being treated. I asked my husband what would happen to the construction vehicles if they were no longer in working order. It is an island, after all, and everything would have to be brought to the mainland. He pointed to the left: "That one!" Behind a dune, an excavator was dumping oil.

In Tunsiia a snake killed a puppy who was trying to play with her. But of course every animal we have to be accepted and respected❤

When I was a child, I used to walk with my little dog on a rocky place, I was not conscious of it and I had no fear, but hundreds of snakes would accompany us on these walks and never harm us!

Seven poisonous snakes in Greece. Maybe you could find a little book with colored pictures to identify snakes [bird books are even better lol so you know what you're looking at.
Lots of poisonous snakes where I live; I have a book to id, just in case of snakebite.

Looks like a European catsnake (Telescopus fallax). Poisonous for mice, lizards, skinks and geckos but not for humans

I searched cat snake I think you're right. It is poisonous but not enough to hurt humans. Perhaps dangerous for a puppy or small dog?
@@emilydavison2053indeed a cat snake. They live on mice and small lizards. Dogs and cats are too big for them.
I also respect all animals...but I prefer to see snakes happy in the forest 😊😊

It‘s a European cat snake, I would say. The European cat snake is venomous, but because it is rear-fanged (fangs are located at the back of the upper jaw), it rarely injects its venom in defensive biting, and is therefore considered no threat to humans. It feeds mainly on geckos and lizards.
Correct. And also no threat to the dogs and cats in the shelter.
The GREAT "CHARLIE" inspected the snake to make sure it was not poisonous, so his master TAKIS would be safe. It's a harmless snake. So many diverse wild animals on the premises, are proof of how much healthy the environment is. Great job, TAKIS!

Looks like a Garden Snake. Non poisionious snakes has round faces and round eyes. Poisonous snakes has diamond shape heads and slanted cat eyes.
No garden snakes in Europe. This is a cat snake.
