I’ve been California sober for over 11years best thing I ever did for myself. I fully respect what Lala is saying. I like the term “dry” I’ve never heard that before.. Everybody’s journey is their own.

@@stephaniesqq I’m not against any recovery path. People do what’s right for them cause full sobriety isn’t always an option for some people but like I said it depends if you actually struggle with addiction
@@mikemoffett6499 you can struggle with both and still use the harm reduction model, it’s simply a process of giving up vices over a longer period. It might not work for everyone but it works for lots of people.

Funny as a recovering addict I find the California sober route worked for me.. I haven't drank alcohol or touched drugs since 2009. I do smoke marijuana frequently but have had no urge to touch anything else.

Hey, congratulations on your sobriety! I have over two years sober from alcohol. Marijuana gives me existential crisis. That’s why I don’t use it but I don’t have a problem with other people using it if it helps them.

Its not replacing the addiction is not been able to remain of a sober mind and deal with emotions in a healthy way. Its no different than a drug addict getting drunk all the time because they don’t consider alcohol a drug.

I don't know much about addiction and how people typically deal with it. But I have always thought that the road to recovery is a journey. James may not be entirely sober, but I believe that he is trying. Lala may be at a better spot in her journey, but I don't understand why she takes offense with James being “California sober.” Give him advice if you want, but do not look down at him for not being where you are on the journey.

She looks down on everyone. That’s her poor character. Anyone who has had that journey would be sympathetic to others. She’s an incredibly immature person which is why she sucks a baby bottle 🍼
Smoking pot is not sober. I am with LAla on this one. Just say you stopped drinking.

Lala getting on her high horse regarding sobriety, so what if he smokes weed? Weed is also used as medication alcohol isn't. No one is disrespecting anyone else's sobriety if they choose to use weed.
Alcohol is actually used for a number of medicinal purposes, particularly in its pure state. What she's getting at is people using the term sober to describe themselves when they are not at all sober. Doesn't matter how you cut it, smoking weed does not make you sober.

That's your take, people are prescribed week for a lot of mental health issues and also to manage pain. If your an alcholic and are prescribed weed for health issues then to me you're sober.

@@monkeyman1327 ok, sure. But he's clearly clarifying that. I don't love the term but it includes a big caveat that one is not fully sober. Again, I don't think it's useful to cast aspersions here. And I don't see how it belittles the experience of someone who is sober.

I’m sober from alcohol because I had a bad drinking problem. My drinking problem stemmed from me drinking to forget my problems. Smoking weed on the other hand was never something I had an issue quitting or felt a constant need for. It helps me chill out after a rough shift or unwind on a Friday night. I totally get what she’s saying but the substances have two very different effects and some people struggle with one and not the other. I love Lala for being so open about her sobriety🩷

I love seeing a " normal" size woman on here. What I love even more, Katie finally seems to be comfortable in her own body. She's rocking her look, and she looks stunning. She has struggled with body image, and had struggled with an eating disorder for so long, it's great to see her confident and healthy. ❤

I think if you say you’re California Sober it’s you not being fully accountable and taking the easy way out in terms of telling you’re self it’s ok when you really know you aren’t sober.

Allergy medicine doesn’t cause developmental delays, yet marijuana has a high potential is to cause developmental delays. Allergy medicine is LEGAL is all USA states, marijuana isn’t. Allergy Medicine doesn’t impair your body, doesn’t alter your sense of time or surroundings, doesn’t cause hallucinations, MARIJUANA DOES. Alcohol and marijuana are in a controlled substance category, allergy medicine. I take issue with "california sober" to. As a recovering alcoholic and drug addict myself since 11/27/82 i find the term offensive. Its insulting to all the genuinely sober people, who struggle and work to maintain their sobriety as it is defined....also James Kennedy needs to stop claiming to be sober and clean and then look up the definition being constantly drug affected by weed is not
sober.....he's a rageaholic suffering from untreated alcoholism, he doesnt have or use a sponsor and has constantly stated he doesnt attend meetings, hasnt taken the steps and has ZERO spirituality to speak of......its an insult to all the people who ARE SOBER doing what they need to to remain so.....

As a person who had a major drug problem for 20 years, how DARE anyone come for me, for smoking weed.. it’s not her place to say a word about another persons journey . I’ve been off heavy drugs for over 10 years, so i speak from a place of knowledge. I know folks who relapse after 10-15..

I think lala is gorg, and doesn’t need no one , she’s good on her own and her baby. I’m sure the baby daddy will have to pay enough child support for both of them and don’t know if she’ll get any alimony since they weren’t yet married but don’t think she’ll need it and be ok with just the child support for the next 18-21 years. It’s better she found out now then later who she’s been with all this time, but it happens to all of us atleast once in our lives, she’s tough and smart she.l be fine.

It kills me that people are grossed out by tasting human milk, but they’re ok with drinking the milk of a barnyard animal! 😳 Cow milk is meant for baby cows, and even they stop drinking it when they grow teeth! People drink cows milk because they’re programmed at birth. So nobody really thinks about how disgusting and backwards that is! All mammals produce milk. But if I offered you an ice cold glass of Rat milk, Cat milk or Kangaroo milk to dip your cookies in to, you’d refuse..( as you should!) Well same should go for Cow milk! IF we needed to drink any animals milk it should be human! Also if you think you need cow milk for the calcium...wrong again! Did you know there’s more calcium in a cup of spinach than there is in an entire container of cow milk? Many other veggies provide it as well, and there’s Calcium supplements too! Did you know why Chocolate milk was created? Because they unmercifully shoot them up with hormones so the body thinks it’s pregnant and provides more milk as they attach them to milking machines for hours. This caused their nipples to bleed, making the blood tainted milk turn pink. So some money hungry “genius” decided to add chocolate to it rather than throwing it out and losing money! Same for strawberry milk! It’s only to disguise the blood! So that’s the truth about what you’re pouring over your Cheerios! Stop drinking all of that slimy mucus you call milk! Unless it’s human! 🤔💥🥴🤦♀️🤢

As a therapist, switching one addiction for another is still an addiction. (Pot for alcohol) The NEED for an addiction, if not addressed, leads to other addictions. Addictions are typically a by product osf low self extreme, or often times filing an emotional void. Good job to all those still in the wagon, keep up the good work!

Sober is what works for you. I know many people that cannot handle alcohol because they are belligerent and evil but they use pot for anxiety and to help them sleep. Sometimes different substances affect people differently. I don’t think it’s anyone’s place to judge how somebody deals with their sobriety. My husband and I were actually talking the other day and, though I’m not an alcoholic, alcohol was much more of a gateway bad decisions for us than pot has ever been… but I also seldom smoke pot because I do use it medicinally.
Bring Morgan Stewart and Justin Sylvester to WWHL. That would be entertaining.
