Normally the internet is very cruel when it comes to downfalls, and the trolls are absolutely insufferable too. But Tony built up such a loyal fan-base over the years with his performances and win streak that even when he had one of the worst (and saddest) falls from grace in MMA history, they never abandoned him. Normally when a legend goes out like that, they tend to fade into obscurity. Not Tony though.
It’s a job that I happen to like to watch for free. That’s all. With that being said I liked him when he was in his prime. But he didn’t evolve and let’s face it you can’t go toe to toe like him for that many years taking all those dome shots and expect to be as good as he once was. He didn’t evolve and was reckless plus fought some of the best. Now he’s done. That’s what happens when you lose. No need to hate on the guy or kick him when he’s down. All fighters have an expiration date just as anyone else does doing any other job physical eventually it gives. Too many shots to the head can cause a fighter to stay one dimensional often reverting to older stuff and unable to learn new. On top of that coordination reaction time and balance all go over time. Tbi sucks. Look at bros ears and he stands and bangs. Think about that for a min. Anyone with common sense can see he’s done but you got to respect the fact he lost 8 times in a row before saying screw it. That takes heart he’s a tough mf and it’s hard not to respect that.

I can see why Tony didn't want to "let go" and walk away. He put in a 12 win streak and never got to fight for real gold due to politics and dirty business. Conor, Khabib, RDA, even Eddie. All four of these guys were champs and Tony beat one of those guys. Not once was he given a shot. Yes, I'm aware of the injuries and pullouts, but even before the cord, even before the third attempt to book the Khabib fight, Tony should have fought for a title.
