I would LOVE a “ballerina/ballet-core” baby girl name list!
So would I!x
yesss
Seraphina, Isadora, Agatha, Katarina, and Pia come to mind ♡
Adelaide, Aracelli, Petra…now you’ve got my wheels turning 😂
In the Netherlands, we have 'Pascalle', pronounced 'Pas-cal-lah'. Might be a good alternative for people that love Pascal, but are afraid it's too masculine for a girl.
Mrs Dan Dare here. Is Elinesa your first name? That looks v pretty but if it is your name could you please tell me how do you pronounce it?
Ooooh love that idea! Thanks so much for adding it x
@@dandare2586 hi, no it isn't! My first name is Eline, RUclips made my username Elinesa (I think because my original username, Eline, was maybe too short or common?). I agree with you tho, it looks really nice spelled out like that hahah
@@elinesa Your real name is v pretty too.
Loving these new name lists!!!! So many new beautiful names!!!
It’s lovely to see you back with baby name vids, SJ ❤
We are welcoming a little girl in a couple short months and are totally stumped on her name! So excited to hear more inspiration from you.
My little girls are Elora Jane and Primrose Coralie. I also loved Arminta, Venetia, Clementine and Azalea
I have a niece named Bodelle. She is usually called Bow or Bowie. She is in her early 30’s now and I have never heard of anyone else with her beautiful name .
Wow
Similar name to Bodelle is Jodelle.
I would love to see a Whimsigothic names list for October!!
I was thinking this too!!
My cousin is Aletta and goes by Lettie and my great grandmother was Flora Mae. Both seem to fit this list well
Happy you are back ❤
Love you SJ, your videos bring me joy each and every time ❤️ especially BNMs!!! ✨
Ahhhh I’m so so grateful you took the time to send me such a lush message xxxx
Lovely to see you looking so happy, healthy, bright, alive, and passionate again SJ
Loving your name videos again SJ and love this list. Oliviette…wow! Due a baby in 5 weeks and not yet fully decided on a name so keep the inspiration coming! x
Well done, SJ, you’ve outdone yourself ❤
Always love your videos SJ ❤
Kittiwake reminds me of "kviddevitt" which is the sound a small bird makes in swedish. Like how cats miau or cows moo. Small birds say kviddevitt.
SJ your name inspo is unmatched! I always love all your suggestions and feel like you have a real gift for seeking out unique ones ❤ Calliope has been my man’s favorite girl name for years now and we will be using it for sure. Evenie or Doli would make a cute little sis though 🤭
Ah thanks so much!! I literally love working on a trend and finding hidden gems - I wish my husband loved calliope!! Wow!!! The sisters would be a dream combo too xxxxx
@@SJ_Strumyou do such a good job. Every name you find sounds fresh and classy to my ears. I watched the movie Signs recently again with Mel Gibson. Abigail Breslin plays his daughter named Bo! I thought it was so sleek and whimsical like Bo Peep or Beau! You’re ahead of the curve as usual. So glad to have you back. ❤
Poema, Pascal, Calliope, Shiloh, Carys, Evenie, Dovie or Dove, Alma, Juniper, Beau, and Sonnet are gorgeous. I'm proud of you for continuing the BNM videos. I missed them, and glad you're healing.
I recently came across Pemma. I think Pemma is a great alternative to the very popular Emma. It is also nice to have another longer form of the nickname "Pam" than "Pamela".
My mums name is Pema (one m) and its tibetan for lotus flower 😊
Gorgeous
So cool to learn Carys has Celtic roots! My oldest daughter is Nora Charis, which we took from the Greek, but I love the spelling variation and meaning!
Lovisa, Poema and Evenie are my favourite from this list! Love those 💗
I have a Juniper!!! And I still love telling people her name. It has the best nicknames! so she is often Juni or June.
awwww I'm jealous!! haha! Such a gorgeous name and I love the nicknames x
Sj! Your talent for creative name lists is amazing ❤My faves this week are Poema, Zelie, Calliope, Evenie, Carys, Shiloh, Dovie, Tulip, Lovisa, Beau, Sonnet.
The top 3 are definitely Dovie, Carys and Lovisa
Ahhh thank you so much, I'm so glad you like the names - I'm amazed they aren't ranking at all yet! Such gems x
@@SJ_Strum SUCH gems! Im gonna remember Dovie and Carys and Lovisa... I wrote all of these down on my actual consideration list :) absolutely love it!
Kittywake is adorable, also Evenie and Shiloh are just beautiful :) Great video SJ :)
I’m so glad you like it!! It’s such a curve ball but I love kitty and think it really completes it x
Got excited because I have a cousin named Beau (girl) and on the Basque side of my family, my cousin is called Izaro. (It's actually pronounced with an S rather than Z. So like ee-sa-roh with the emphasis on 'sa'. It's a tricky one haha! Also as you mentioned Naroa thought I'd add another popular Basque name Nerea which would be probably be pronounced in English as Nuh-Ray-a.
Thanks for another lovely name list as always, I'm so glad you're back doing these. Would love to see a Basque name list as, as you said, there's so many lush names from that region! Big love ❤
An alternative spelling of Aleida is Ilayda, this variation is used in Türkiye :)
I just had a little girl called Mabel and already thinking Alma or Elma would be a great little sibling name 😂 different sounds, similar letters 😊
Oooh yes perfect!!! Wow - huge congrats ! xx
My little girl was born a few days ago on the 2nd of October. We've named her Eva Fern. I've loved watching your videos over the years coming up with lots of name options. 🥰
Beautiful! Congratulations! Xxx
We decided on Annalise Poema for our daughter (due in June) because of the suggestion in this video. It’s so lovely and we adore how unique it is and how it pairs with the meaning of the first name we already loved (Annalise is “Graced by God’s bounty” and Poema is “poem” or, as we interpret it, “a beautifully written story”). Thank you for the suggestion! We are forever grateful!
Love your outfit ❤
Ah thank you!! I look so random I think 😂😂 I was trying to go for the theme! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Poema! Poem in Portuguese.
Usually it doesn’t work quite well in Portuguese using name of “things” for babies, but this one totally works for me! And I’ve never heard anyone using here(Brazil). Poema is a “masculine” word, but I can easily see this for a girl. Ahhhb I loved it. I am usually a fan of vintages names, but this one got me. I wasn’t expected that.
Wow yayyy! I’m so happy, it’s so nice when a name hits xxx❤❤❤❤
It’s also Spanish for poem!
Such pretty names! 💚
It's like you can make every name sound good!😂
Beautiful names. I love the name ottilie from your previous videos.
I love how enthusiastic you are about this list! My favorite was Naroa and Dovie. What about a Turkish baby girl list? There are many very pretty.
I would love a return to your "invented" names lists! I don't have children yet but, clearly, I think about it a lot haha. Both girl names I have picked out have invented first names:
- This name actually exists already, but I didn't know it at the time: Amarya. I love the names Amara and Amaya but couldn't decide which I preferred (and couldn't just use both because they're so similar), and I also like Arya but it's getting too popular, so I just combined them lol.
- Elowa. I write, and Elowa is actually a minor character in my fantasy novel (she's a princess, later becomes queen at the end of the book). A lot of the names in my book are invented, just me stringing random syllables together lol, I'll include a few in a reply for your perusal. I just think Elowa sounds so pretty!
- On the other hand, I'm not fond of the nickname Lo or Low for her, would it be too weird if I gave her a somewhat unrelated nn - Rowe (rhyming with low)?
Book names!
Girls: Ashai (ASH-ee), Hersa, Elowa, Jersal, Soleniah, Alionah, Samora, Triyah
Boys: Milaro (Mih-LAR-oh), Ballard, Lyson, Sandros, Lueron (LURE-on), Cormati (Cor-MAT-ee), Jocabi (Jo-KAH-bee), Kalebo (Kuh-LAY-boh), Selron, Norles (Selron beckwards; Norles' mother Soleniah was honouring her fallen brother)
Please do a similar boys list 😊 for trendy soft names.
Great list! My favs are Doli and Evenie. What do you think of the name Amarae. It’s at the top of my list.
Poema is so sweet! I also love Poésie, which is French for poetry. 💖
Pascal, Calliope, Carys, Alma, Tulip (one of my favorite modern cartoons, Infinity Train, had a character in the first season named Tulip!) Naroa, Juniper (I know quite a few little ones with this name, it's wildly popular in my state- in the top 20!) and Sonnet are all just delightful.
Wow wow - poesie is just stunning 😍 wow 😮
Here I am yet again, totally done having children, sitting here watching baby name videos lol! I just love your videos!
Lol 😅 I’m currently pregnant but always watch her videos even when I’m not. Just love the categories!
I'm so, so happy you are back. Currently going through a v traumatic divorce and this is my happy place. I can't carry more children naturally but should I be lucky enough to meet someone new I am researching surrogacy as a positive future focus. I am of course also researching potential baby names!! Might have book a consultation sometime soon to cheer me up .. I have quite a naming pattern/theme lol :) xx
I’m feeling so different in myself being back to this routine of writing name lists and researching- it’s literally changed my spark I think. Just to be back chatting to you all again about our little community we all love. I’m so sorry to hear about your traumatic divorce; it must be such a low time - I’m here with you but we’re showing up every day xxxxxxx
Lovisa is a jewellery/accessories store that replaced Accessorize here in France.
Oooh I can totally see why! X
My daughter needs a name to go with her 2 girls Ivy & Primrose and she mentioned Tulip the other day so I’m delighted you’ve mentioned it today x
Oh yes!!!! I'd be so happy if she went with it! x
Will keep you posted; her other likes are Petal, Blossom & Blousie but Tulip is so unique 🌷🌷xx
Evolet 💜 Orchid
Congratulations ☺️
@@saiyahb9457 Orchid is pretty 💕
I think your daughter's flower theme is so cute! I think Marigold would also be super stunning for their little sister ☺️ but Tulip goes really well with Ivy and Primrose
Pascale is a common girls name- it just has an “e” at the end to make it feminine version 😊
I love Tulip Denise, Denise was my nanas name and her favourite flower was tulips !!
Pascal Hutton is a popular actress with the Hallmark channel - plays Rosemary on When Calls the Heart. Lovely name!
P.s literally in love with all these names this week! ❤ Poema, Zelie, Pascal, Doli, Dovie, Kittiwake, Aleida, Calliope, Shiloh, Juniper, Sonnet & Beau! X
Yay!!!! I love a super girly girl name!
I love Naroa, and love its meaning.
So glad to see the baby name videos back! I’m a writer and I will absolutely at some point name a character Dovie in honor of your sister. ❤
For a future name list, I recommend one on Cornish names. They have the same magical feeling as Welsh names but tend to be more palatable for international audiences.
(I tried commenting this earlier but it isn’t showing up at all now so I’ll try again. Apologies if it’s a duplicate.)
Ah that would be so special for Naomi, thank you x
I know of a lady in Sweden where I live who’s called Pascal, that was the first time I’d heard of it as a female name. Evenie went straight on my name list (for Sims, not babies) 😄
You dug deep this time SJ. I like Calliope, Carys [ which I have known spelt Charis too ] ,& Juniper. I know a 10-year old Shiloh !
ha ha ha! Yes - it's such a fun trend though!! Ooooh so cute to know a Shiloh too xx
Juniper, Carys and Calliope are my faves on this list. Juniper has been one of my favourite names for like 20 years 😅
These are great. Love Calliope. Also think Fuchsia and Novella would work on this list 😍
Oooh fuchsia is perfect with all tbe pink!! ❤❤❤
Evanie has actually been on my list for awhile
Need a part 2
Oh, Evenie is just stunning
there’s an actress called Pascal Hutton! I have Juniper listed. I love that Oliviette. Like Julie vs Juliette. Sonnet is a wildcard for sure but I think it’s soft & pretty!
i really love arietta marla and pamala i think theyd make great soft girl names
This list was 100% my vibe! I am expecting little girl #3 and I have tried for 6 months to convince my husband to fall in love with Shiloh! I am due near Christmas and I think Shiloh Noelle is so precious. My boy name has always been Beau too and now you’ve got me pondering if I could use it on my daughter!! Also, Calliope is 😮❤ fantastic. I know a little girl named Pascale and she goes by Paz! So cool!
Shiloh Noel was exactly what I thought of too, that may be because I had chosen Saylah Noel for a girl if I had three girls. I only had one so I didn’t get to use that or Kyia Rene
Oh my goodness I just had to comment, we named our November 22 baby Shiloh Noelle 🥰
Love this list! Really like every name. I'm not going to have children, just a name nerd 😂
Poema is about to rise in the charts! Im calling it
Sonnet sounds just like Sonic! My Sonic obsessed 5 year old heard me listening and was like Sonic?! Why is she talking about Sonic? 😂
Just wanted to say thank you SJ for your name suggestions. We're due Dec 28th with our Calliope Eleanor❤️
Oh no wayyyyy!!!!! Wow - I guess you had her name before I mentioned it - so excited for you x
@@SJ_Strum Thank you!! I remembered it being on one of your list prior and I mentioned it to my husband lol, as soon as we found out it was girl he yelled Calliope!!☺️
I have never seen my daughters names on any list!!!! Our oldest daughter is Aleida and we absolutely love it! You pronounced it the same way we do! We also have an Azelie (like Zelie but we pronounce it ah-ZAY-lee)
I love how you pronounce your daughter Azelie's name💕
Fun list! Aleida and Lovisa were my favorite
Here's a challenge. I have a grand daughter expected Feb 14. Valentines! 😊 I enjoyed listening to your list and sent it off to my daughter.
Crushing on Evenie!!
Naroa is now a favorite! Izaro is really pretty too!
I’ve always loved Greek mythology. I think the names are dreamy and whimsical 🤍
Aren’t they gorgeous! There was an Athena at Evelina’s ballet class today!
I love Aleida, Alma, Izaro and Sonnet
I’ve always loved Carys and Cerys
I think these names would suit the soft girl aesthetic: Rosella, Lovella, Ottollie, Jolie, and Paloma
Oh gosh, never clicked so fast! Looking for a baby girl name for my 2nd baby ❤❤❤
Such a fun list :-)
I love love love the idea of ballet -core list of sorts. My Cats name is Beatrix Ekaterina the ballerina 💕💕
What about Calliope Poema? 😍 Calliope is the muse of poems in Greek mythology🤗
Oh yes!!! ❤❤❤❤ that’s so so good!
Would love see a list of unique Greek unisex or girl names :)
Amazing list💕💕💕
My daughter is Evalina and never heard anyone else with that name!! Its from her great-great grandmother Eva.
I know a Zelie here in the Netherlands, where it's pronounced ZAY-lee. Her parents chose it as a combination of Zee (Sea) and Lelie (Lily flower).
Wonderful video! I think our baby girl, Ipo (eee-poe), is a soft name! It means "sweetheart" in Hawaiian :)
Evenie ❤ It reminds me of my daughter 's second name Emmeline
Can you make a list for modern day names for Greek Gods/Goddesses?
Happy to see Zelie!! We named our second daughter Azélie Fleur🥰
Azalea (nn Zelie) would have been my third daughter if I’d had another one! Love your daughter’s name!
Zelie is actually growing quite popular where I am from in small town Ohio. This is largely because it is the name of a Catholic saint, Saint Zelie Martin, mother of Saint Therese. Maybe I also notice it more because I am Catholic, so I hear it often in my circle. Beautiful name, and a beautiful saint! I’ve seen it on some very cute little girls 🥰
Yes, it's becoming a lot more popular, but still overall rare. I'm curious if you hear it pronounced like "Zay-lee" more or like "Zell-lee"?
😢 I liked it until I read this religious meaning 😢
@@leenie6629 If you want, try reading about them! They were a cute little family who lived in France who had a lot of daughters. Zelie was a business woman and her husband helped run her business. I still think it's a beautiful name!
There's lots of Saint names that Catholic's would see as "religious names" that others would not like John, Peter, Mary, Anne, Christopher, Sarah... If you like the name, you can still use it!
Aww yes you used my name! I love it 💜
I love Carys, also Dilys. I prefer Dove to Dovie actually, Birdie would work too.
i thought sonnet would be really pretty pronounced with the soft french ‘et’ ending like in ballet (son-ay) but spelt like sonnet. love this list!!
Evenie and Shiloh are divine 💕
They sound so so good together too ❤❤❤
OMG Oliviette!!❤
Aleida is a lot like Leidy. I have known two women called Leidy. Yes, pronounced just like "lady"
I know a Caris... Alma is not uncommon in my country, Guatemala :) I have two daughters, Luciana and Agustina. I LOVE both their names :)
I love Aleida but we have an Adelie already, so too similar 🤎🌸
Pascal is a lolly and chocolate brand in Australia and i think new Zealand lol
Long girl names please!
My name is Beau 🎀 I’m 32 and I absolutely hated it growing up! Growing up in 90/00s I got bo selecta little bo peep! Now I’m older I love my name but yes I did have painful childhood memories 😂 which people should take on board when choosing unusual names - I love the name Etta for a girl ❤ xxxxxxxx
In Montreal, Pascale is a girl name you encounter now and again
Hopefully helpful pronunciation tip for Spanish names: in most cases, the emphasis is on second to last syllable. And all letters are sounded out phonetically so my best guess having never heard the name Aleida before, would be to pronounce it Ah-lay-EE-dah. Sounds pretty 😍
My daughter’s Sister in law recently had a baby girl named Sonnet Oceainne. (In the U S)
I LOVE Naroa!
I love the names Dolly and Elvis but I feel like everyone will think I named them after the singers (understandably) but tbh I’m not a huge Dolly Parton or Elvis Presley fan. I still might use the names though.
alma is lovely
My niece's name is Alma Juniper! Born in late August 2019 💕 Her little sister is almost here, due mid July 2024 - no names have been chosen yet!
I remember growing up and my name not being very common at least I rarely heard it and didn’t know a lot of girls named Alma but I’m starting to see it more and more but I love my name and I’m so happy to hear and see it on this list my name is Alma Rosa 🌹❤
I once saw the name “Nellaby” on an old plaque. I think it must be a compound nickname like a contraction of Helena Beatrice or something. I think it would fit this aesthetic.
Wow that’s so unusual!
