It's going to be an interesting new technology. I see what they are talking about with the TWS system and how this doesn't have those same potential shortcomings.
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman I see you fishing with Tim. I'm in Jax FL. Havent seen Tim in a while but fish with Joe (Dinsmore Outdoors) and Bubba (Bubba Outdoors) too.
@@GetOutTheHouseGoFish awesome! Yeah, I helped put Tim on his first fish out here in San Diego right after he moved here and we've been fishing buddies ever since. Really cool to see this tech coming out of kastking. Shows how much they’re pushing the market forward and that theyre devoted to it. Excited to see the actual implementation and whether it makes it down to bfs oriented reels! Cheers!
Agree 100%! People seem to get upset when they see what they consider a "budget" company releasing new tech. I feel like KK is trying to broaden their market by having the entry level reels and providing avenues for people to move up to higher end stuff. This seems evident with the recent release of the Kestrel Elite. $220 for a reel is Shimano territory and while some may argue that the KE is priced beyond what is expected from a KK reel, some of the tech used wouldn't seem out of place in a Shimano or Daiwa reel.
The concept seems great, but this is KastKing we're talking about😆Bottom of the barrel pepper grinders that should be sold through aliexpress exclusively, and for no more than $49.99.
Must have been a while since you took a serious look at KastKing. The products they've been putting out the last few years are top notch, good build quality, and reliable. The real reason people think poorly of them is they don't believe a company can put out a good product for an affordable price when there are other companies putting out their products for 4-5x the price... sometimes you just pay for a name...I've owned products from the other companies but they've never given me a reason to switch. They're good but they don't catch me 4-5x as many fish, so why pay 4-5x the price?
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman Its an Aliexpress brand. Nothing else needs to be added. The fact that they're charging over $200 for some of their reels is almost insulting.
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman I don't think so. When Daiwa, Shimano and to a lesser extent, Abu exists, all these noname Aliexpress brands made in a basement in China don't deserve any attention.
I am all but certain that will be the case. A lot of new tech that KastKing develops hits their Asian markets first for testing. I think the US angler/consumer is a little more demanding of quality from companies
@@WorldsOkayestFisherman Well IMHO they dropped the ball on the Kestrel Elite way over braked and yes I have one, I also have the Valiant Eagle II which again IMHO is slightly better and cost's almost 1/3 less than the Elite. I have heard some pretty bad reviews on the new Aliexpress KastKing Centron Lite BFS Rod. Don't get me wrong I do like most of KastKing's offerings, but I won't be purchasing this rod and I am in the market for another BFS casting rod, Still haven't found anything better for the price other than the Ace Hawk CU double, except it takes forever to get to the US, I fish all year round , It's a Florida thing!
@@draidt yeah, I have the Kestrel and it's my first BFS reel so I don't have anything to compare it too but I've really been enjoying it. I have it on a Zephyr rod which has been really good but that Ace Double Hawk with the twin tip is a hard deal to beat! Been thinking of grabbing the VE II as well because I think the slight modification of the braking design can help cast light lures farther. It is a shame about the QC issues with the Centron rod. Was such a cool looking design and some people haven't had issues while others have.
Saying there is a problem with the TWS is just laughable. There is no line jamming. If anything the willow leaf design looks flawed. If it is to one side or the other of the reel, how is it even going to spin. Does the willow leaf have to be centered before you can even engage it? Looks terrible.
That willow leaf sounds great

looking forward to seeing this reel in the states when it gets released.
Me too! Maybe we will get a Bassinator Elite II out of it! It's about time for that reel to get a generation update!
