@@SergeyZabello Two eras, the theory of Darwinian evolution applied to pilots, in both eras excellent pilots: sensitivity, reflexes, attention, sense of limit projected to dominate mechanics once, electronics now; in both cases a myriad of stimuli. 00:10 One can admire the beautiful engineering underneath. Engine, transaxle, space-frame chassis, independent double swinging-arm rear suspensions with anti-squat effect, extra-wide tires. Exactly what a racing car needs.
Geeez what a sound! Back in the late '70/early '80, when I was a little boy, the house where we used to live was 10 miles away from Monza circuit as the crow flies. Believe it or not, during the F1 GP weekend, I could hear the cars roaring just going outside on the balcony. Glorious times!
The beauty of this is seeing it in the clarity of high-def video. Back during this car's heyday, visually it would be seen on grainy film or fuzzy video; and chances are on TV of that time, in black & white.
The endurance race cars of that era were right-hand drive, as the race courses were clockwise configured, meaning the pit-wall was on the right of the vehicle during pit stops. Under Le Mans rules, the driver had to shut down the engine and leave the vehicle during pit stops, so a right-side exit/entrance for the vehicle was the practical side.
The level of technical advancement in prototype ., GT and Group 4 racing from the mid sixties to mid seventies can’t be understated Porsche and Ferrari has alien tech compared to everyone else’s.
Ein wunderschönes Auto, wie es sie heute leider nicht mehr gibt. Ferrari ist fast der einzige Hersteller, der noch aesthetisch saubere Sportwagen herstellt.
It's amazing the power of these cars add back in the 60s. To be erased in the 70s 80s and 90s. Only to just now return in the 2000s. I would take the 60s over anything..
Music played violently! Nothing better than a classic race with these Can Am/ endurance race cars. The experience of being in the pits and sometimes sitting in one of these isn’t as good as driving, but it will do. NM2255, always a pleasure to watch your videos. Though I can’t race anymore, I can still remember what it like to go fast from watching your videos. It motivates me to get out he work finished on my classic 68’ Cougar so I can drive fast again. Bless you for giving me a boost.
I can only imagine being so viscerally connected to a machine like that. What a phenomenal experience it must be pushing those cars to their limits, with nothing to save you but your own senses and reactions. It’s the complete opposite of the relaxed serenity when I tool around in my 1964 Caddy. Jealous, but also must be stressful how valuable those cars are.
Love the fact that the driver (?) …. Was genuinely driving that fantastic Ferrari the way it was designed to be driven, no fear that it is worth a fortune. Real race car which I would love to see … replicated along with other beauties of the era and raced competitively again, I for one would tune in and watch with enthusiasm.
Moody, challenging, temperamental, noisy, touchy, fiery, feisty, headstrong, gorgeous, hard to please, dangerous to know, tricky to handle - treat her mean and she'll kill you - but she's swift and sweet-sounding and oh-so-rewarding when you get things right. But that's enough about me [ho ho]. That's what makes ICE motorsport special. That's what makes people fall in love. Compare the passion this glorious Ferrari still inspires after more than half a century with the dead-eyed future of 'motorsport'. An all-electric wasteland where you press button A and depress pedal B and the car goes. That's it. It just goes. Whee. Like turning on the microwave. Yes, an EV is quiet and clean and blindingly quick off the line, but... so what? When have statistics, numbers and efficiency ever had anything to do with love? An EV is an appliance, batteries included. You can't have much of a relationship with a battery-powered appliance. Er, or so I've been told (blush, blush)...🤭
Everytime I watch a video with the sound of that V12 thr first thing I want to so is watch Le Mans and submerse myself in it like I did when I saw it when I was 8 or 9 and saw it in the theater 50 years ago.

you aren't joking. It's ridiculous how classy it is

I'm not a spaghetti lover but those old Ferraris run they run hard man hats off to you on that one
After starting the engine the sound of an idling motor was... 😂
This Ferrari is probably the most beautiful race car ever made.
That period was the most engaging
ill second that.
I like the driver changing gears

The glorious sounds of a bygone era, when cars were cars. Brings a lump to my throat.
Easily one of the most beautiful cars ever made. A work of automotive art.

Love these era cars. Raw racing, back when it was exciting.
...to get fourth place in the championship??
Respect to the man driving a 1of 3, 13 Million dollar car the way it is meant to be driven.
Exactly. And just imagine the price of a gearshift gone wrong...

That 512 must be such a fantastic joy to drive. Nice to see it being put through it's paces!
It's not a 512 it's a 312 Berlinetta. The 512 had a bigger 5 litre engine.
Headphones warning ... (you need to be using headphones)
Great advice!

Ferrari won't be sounding like this anymore! This is the best era of Ferrari and Le Mans racing!
Why dont they make such beauty car like this today?
