most important thing about ssd is Bigger storage space = better performance. SSD performance increased based on it's storage capicity.
For example same type of ssd from same brand will get faster and faster as it's storage space increases.
Let me explain
Samsung EVO 860 500gb is faster than Samsung Evo 860 250gb. Same with WD Blue etc.

If you really want to use SSD always go for maximum possible size in your budget. Bigger the SSD more endurance it has and more sustained read/write speeds.
@SonicBOOM agree, that's why used 'maximum possible within budget'.
SSDs are trickier than HDD as the price point varies drastically based on the fabrication as well as controller tech.
Just to point :
Cost of a 1 TB QLC might be 50% of high end 1TB MLC. But with lesser longevity and performance (which again varies in same Type of SSd based on size .. basically cache) So if VFM is the priority there are other factors to look in. The real world scenario might vary for individuals
@SonicBOOM modern laptops have more than one disk interfaces, single and dual M2 slots are not that rare now. Along with one usual SATA 3 for 2.5 inch

FYI laptops with M2 slot are available from 35K INR now not aware if it's M2 sata or nvme, but they are providing additional disk slot in form of M2 .

It can be done easily, even SSD manufacturers provide migration software to do this. Like Samsung provides Samsung data transfer software which works only with samsung SSDs.
You can try macrium reflect software for migrating windows to SSD its free.
Before migrating do a disk cleanup and tune your window to remove all crap files.
The migration software will copy your windows partion along with any system partition to your SSD.
And it's a myth that performance decreases on migrating (a new install will always 'feel' fast) or its unsafe . Rather it allows you to not worry about windows license and all the installed application.

I have dell inspiron 15r i3 processor 1.8 gzh. But now i am using it with 250gb ssd +500gb hdd(caddy) perfact combination and upgrade my 4gb ram to 12gb (Dual channel) believe me this is the best setup for doing anad hanage heavy tasks with low spec's complter. Now i can use my cad software seamlessly and little bit increase of fps is games. But some little animation are now more clear in windows 10.

Kingston A400 is a good drive according to it's price but it is not very stable and it's health software doesn't tell you total data read and write in the last 7 days. Even 3rd party softwares cannot determine that info for this drive. So, if you can spend more get Samsung, Crucial or even WD, Seagate.

There is no chance to make a Windows 10 laptop work as flawless as macbook it cannot work so fast as you want to Windows 10 will always take some time on start up
And yes some short their hiccups will always be there because Windows 10 install any software designed for Windows but in macbooks Mac OS has very tight regulations to launch in the Apple storea fluid flawless and generally enjoyable software is launched in the Mac OS that's why Mac OS run so flawless
