I like your honest review. I have the gravity mp with added weight. I personally like the mp version with added weight over the tour version as the mp has more open pattern (16x20) that gives me more spin than the tour.
I use a Gravity MP 2022 (360+) and i love it! I am always trying new frames and i was curious about the new Gravity Tour because of the weight and the closed string pattern (18x20), but after your video i think i will try the new Gravity Pro instead! thank you very much!
I had the same experience about SW with my 2021 Tour, as I first strung with Tour abote Soft 1.15. SW increased from 319 to about 327.5 when I strung with Lynx Tour 1.25. Try it. It became a whole other racket with Lynx Tour.
I have played with both the Pro and Tour. The Tour was average in all areas but nothing special. I really like the Pro much better and it offers better feel and plow. I would recommend looked for a slightly under spec one and I think you will be very happy with it.
I am trying the Gravity MP and enjoying it quite a bit. But discouraged to make a switch because of this quality control… Disapointing from Head. You should try the MP and customize it, its under spec and there is a lot of room for customization
Tan, thank you have a very useful review. I saw that you strung it quite low. Did you try with a higher tension. e.g. 54/52lbs, and also with another string (ALU or RPM)? I find that some racquets play better with different tensions and strings. Thanks D
Thanks! No I haven’t tried at higher tension because it’s 18x20 and normally I’m not strong enough to go with that on dense pattern. Didn’t tried with different strings yet.
Very interesting review. I currently play with the Tour as the Pro was ultimately too heavy for me. Most reviewers back then seemed to think the Tour was the best of the three and that the thicker beam made gave it the most pop of the three as well. I did add some lead tape at the top of the hoop per one reviewers advice. The question is how easy is it to find under spec-ed pros out there???
The real test in is a game play vs a good player. Then everything u said about tour is going to apply to pro and vicevers.trust me. Pro is a racquet with thin beams fast to the air and massive sw that is efective only when u are ready on shots so u he can use kinetic chain to properly hit with it, which in practice happen to all of us.but in real games if u are late with thin beams and high sw u will have zero pop up and balls will land in net a lot. Tour is a racquet who will perfom very good in matches for amateurs who are all courter players. For the others they are better variants. I can make a bet that if u play a hard match u will won with tour and lose with pro.
In your previous review, you mentioned about the downside of the Gravity Pro. If you go for it, what will you do in term of customization, string, or else? Thanks.
I would string it with 1.15 gauge poly from the get go. That should lower the SW to around 325+-. Easier to play with and get more spin. No need for customization.
Hi. could u please advise for someone that has occasional tennis elbow, double backhand. which one is better? blade 98 16x19, blade 98 18x20, gravity pro or gravity tour. unmodified
I think Gravity Pro feels most comfortable to me compared to the Blade. Tour is ok but feels like it need bigger swing with more arm/elbow motion, which could lead to overworking the groundstrokes. Playing with Gravity Pro feels like it requires a body weight transfer more and straight arm. Doesn’t need a big swing at the ball.
Haven't tried the Tour, but have tried all the other racquets you mentioned. I would select the Blade 16 x 19, or maybe a Gravity Pro with very thin and light strings to reduce the swing weight. The pro will worsen you tennis elbow if you don't lower the SW.
How come strung weight only 5gr diff between pro and tour? Because stock spec is 305 & 315g so it must be 10gr strung weight diff also if you said using same string?
If you mean the swingweight pts, it’s in another unit (kg-cm2). I don’t know exactly how to calculate that number. But I do know it’s relative to the weight distribution and the balance of the racket.
@@tantennis I see. I asked because you mentioned after you added the head guard, the swingweight points goes up to x point, and brings the swingweight to Y grams. Thanks.
Maybe I'll pass on this one. I just got an MP and it's spec is higher than Pro. That's crazy. It could happen I order a tour model and it's also heavier. For what is worth my over spec MP has a very high swingweight but kind of low twistweight. Maybe these are all a bit unstable for the swingweight?
I was wondering about how noticeable is the 10 grams difference between the pro and tour. I like control oriented frames that are better suited for flat hitters; being an 18x20 and 100 in² makes it perfect in theory, but the pro being 315 grams and head heavy may feel too much for a recreational player like myself. I was very excited about how would you rate the tour after your positive review of the pro, so finding out you disliked the tour this much makes me doubtful.
The pro is actually pretty head light. Strung balance is around 32cm, I believe it translate to 6-7 pts headlight. Yea but 315 is a bit heavy when moving overall and on the takeback. Yes I’m pretty disappointed on the tour because somehow it’s just average racket, when the pro is like a total package, but it’s 315.
@@tantennis Yeah, I trust your judgement, maybe I will give the pro a chance. As you said, is the total package; great looks and specs for a control frame, but, damn, I hoped for the tour to be just as good yet light enough for a recreational player.
@Eduardo Gómez actually the tour is not bad tho, but it’s just doesn’t match my expectations. I’m thinking of getting a underspec gravity pro. Anyway, please don’t trust me lol. Better to demo it!
@@tantennis I have seen most of your recent videos and know you are tennis knowledgeable, so, of course I will trust you hahaha Yeah, I will try demoing it, but, they are unavailable where I live, so, ordering it online from an European Store might be the only way to get my hands on it.
@@tantennis previous tour had the same awful QC. Most talk tennis posters were complaining about this. We are talking about a racquet that supposedly is 305 unstrung……
@@TheodorosKolokotronis799 Exactly. And if it’s gonna be overweight, then make the SW high, not make it low. I don’t wanna add more weight and make it even more head heavy than 33cm it is now.
Actually both Vcore and Ezone 100 are great rackets. The vcore has higher launch angle and power, as well as more forgiving and comfort. Basically easier to hit with. Ezone has a bit smaller sweetspot. It’s stiffer. Spin I would say equally good.
Excellent review. The Tour and MP were always a disappointment for me - wobbly unstable racquet face. You need a ton of lead, in which case get the Pro.

Yes because thicker gauge string increases SW. I could do that but I don’t think I’m good enough to hit 1.25 on 18x20.
I strung it with Velocity 1.25 with Lynx 1.20. 23/25 kg. Sweet stuff. The pro is Heavy. Not That much fun for me. I want fast Swings

I agree with you. The Pro wow me a lot but the Tour is just meh.
Those string gauges seem so thin to me. I'm so used to 1.3 mm. Have played for too long with a Kevlar / Multi hybrid, both at 1.3mm.
