I love HW-1 guitars! I’ve a crimson 2004 Strat with maple, Crimson 2005 Tele with rosewood, 2007 satin Matt Tele with maple and a 2002 blonde Strat with rosewood is on the cards!
Saweet! I kinda miss the guitar from this video because of the beat up finish on the body. Someday maybe another one will be in the cards for me. Congrats 👍
Speaking for myself, if a guitar has a great neck, swapping out some other components only makes it better. The genius of Leo Fender and his designs is simplicity. The Highway One in the video only needed a new switch because it was over heated by someone previously. I decided to upgrade the rest of the controls because the end result was cleaner than spending more time rehabbing what was there. Legit question though 👍
@@xleftsidex1627 i dont even plug in a guitar when i buy it. Electronics can be switched easy its all about how a strat is put together and how the neck and body wood sound together. Frets, radious and neck carve are far more important than pups.
Was able to find some good jams on the RUclips royalty free music! I gotta add the info the description even though it isn’t required to use it. Good stuff.
@@googaboogaloo To me the two pedals are very different. I’ve had three or four Klon style pedals and didn’t like any of them. I do not understand the appeal of the Klon design. To my ear, the Klon has a mid range that is unpleasant but then again I like a scooped mid sound. I joke with people that I love a tone that is sure to get lost in a mix. I really like the Prince (and King) of Tone pedals and the Soloist pedal. The Soloist nails the SRV sound to me. I did have the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe which was the best of the Klon pedals I had. Used it as a boost with a Tube Screamer at a gig and it was great right before the bar owner told me to turn down.
@@bbmade I’ve been curious about them. I just bought a build your own klon kit and I had a couple of the cheap klon clones (one sounded like I had a wah engaged the mids were so harsh). A good overdrive that I like is hard to come by. But when you kicked on the prince I liked that. I might have to try my hand at building one of those.
@@googaboogaloo Yeah it’s all about finding one you connect with. Took me a long time to find a couple I really liked. The King of Tone has a better “feel” to me and really shines when you are at gig volume. Prince of Tone is a match for sound and the “feel” is so subjective it might be my imagination. I was looking at the Klon kit from Stew Mac and pondering building one.
The patina on this guitar 😍
Pretty much the reason I bought it! 👍

Thanks for the comment! They are cool guitars.
@@bbmadeJust bought a honey blonde with rosewood from 2002 and it’s awesome!

вы правы эти сёдла не родные ... их заменили ... и по-моему заменён бридж в сборе ... это более качественный чем родной
Thank you for the comment. I didn’t realize the RUclips app had translation. Much appreciated.
Great stuff
Sounds great!
Thank you! This was a fun one.
mine 2003 highway one also upgraded to deluxe pickup scn noiseless selector,pickguard,5switch and 3 knob vol..
Mine is from 2002 also. I've upgraded all of the electronics, and hardware. Great guitars!!
How come they're great if you had to upgrade all the important parts of the guitar lol. That's basically a different custom model at this point
@@xleftsidex1627 Well it's no different than Gilmour, Clapton, SRV, Gallagher etc who have all modded their instruments.

All Fenders should have the big frets they used on HW strats ,,mines plays absolutely amazing !
That music when you are desoldering the pickups is really funky. If only that strat had the big headstock. I’m a sucker for the big headstock.

@@bbmade it’s very Steve Cropper in Booker T and the MGs. How does that prince of tone compare to a klon style pedal?

The saddles are definetely not the same as those on my 2004 HW1 atleast
