@@JackMacLupus could be, but if that's the case it's literally only letting you gilet so much material in which would be a really slow process just to open some bags
@@jamesh1402 True. I guess that the mixer was mostly designed to be used with Sand or very small gravel and not that bigger stuff. But thats nothing bad. If Andrew really wants he can easily change that grate a bit so that it lets bigger stuff through too. Or he just takes it off. XD
@@JackMacLupus for sure, I do believe the grate is mostly to keep larger material out, it looks like a flaw, cause we both seen how mich material it's letting in the bucket with it on.

But, there's the chance it's going to get bent at some point. A smaller retaining wall contractor could really benefit from one of these. He could mix his own as needed throughout the day and not have to stand around waiting on a concrete truck to bring a small batch. I like it.
Andrew. Dry mix the cement into the sand aggregate mix Before you add the water to get a more consistent mix. Slowly add the water as too much water will weaken the mix. I like your thoughts about doing a sand aggregate pre mix at home and taking it to the job by your tipper truck. Depending upon the width of the mixer and your tipper you could batch load directly from your tipper into the mixer. You can make the required tailgate batching attachment yourself. You can also get small line trimmer like pencil vibrators to properly vibrate the delivered mix into the formwork. You could also make up your own concrete test cylinders to provide a testing sample should a building surveyor request one or more. If you do the cylinders as part of the job as your standard, people will take note of the professional approach.

Thank you for being probably the only genius in this part of the states to buy such a tool. I find it so silly of people when I go to pour 1 yard of concrete for tubes for stair footings. Such a waste of their money
I've been digging piers in my crawlspace. Hand mixing in a wheelbarrow in the yard and shoveling wet concrete down a chute I built into a bin under the house. Crawl under on hands and knees, drag the bin to the hole, pour in, tamp, and repeat..and repeat, repeat repeat. I WANT this machine. I'm sure i could find many uses for the skid-steer, too.
Hi Andrew. I couldn't help but here a little squeak in your truck when you took off with the loader on the trailer. I've worked for Dodge for many years and it sounds like your idler pulley or your belt tentioner maybe going out. Have a great day and thank you for all the amazing videos.
Enjoying your video content. I know someone who owed a similar attachment. He took the grate off to improve loading and worked great, however the auger got bent from a large piece of stone that jammed up. It wouldn't have happened had he left the grate on.
For Sonotubes a shorter 2.5-3' gray chute hose might make life easier while keeping center of gravity lower. The 6' long hose probably great for loading concrete forms through a window opening or in hard to reach corners, but it puts the weight unnecessarily high for most small jobs.
Another great video Andrew. Discovered these videos 2 weeks ago and it's been a must have everyday. Inspiration. Wish I had the skills to do it all like you. Also love @12.50 you sit in skidsteer with hose and do it all yourself as per usual 👍🏻
Ha ha ha thats the stupidest thing I heard today, you don't know much about what you are saying, evidently marc y you have'nt worked with much concrete at all.
Yes there is a specific ratio but basically wet it tilll it turns soft an puddy like ... add more water of its too stiff ... add some extra dry ingredients if its too runny
That’s got to be the easiest way to deal with concrete if it’s too small for a concrete truck. That’s an awesome invention !! And the sand comments about it being dark. Has anyone in the southern part of the United States seen dirt in Upstate New York ? It’s dark too, and rich in everything needed for plants. Wish I could bring some down to Ga. and mix it with this chit dirt we have for a garden. Then I bet a garden would flourish. Keep sending your videos sir, I appreciate everyone you have done.
You are a 1 man wrecking crew! But for the love of god put that guard back on. I worked for a company that had a guy get his arm ripped to shreds in a cement mixer, only because someone was right there to take it out of gear it didn’t pull his body in and crush his head! I know your good, but it’s the guy you lend it to for a quick job, or his dummy helper that trips and falls! Love the vids! You are an inspiration!!!
In my experience, I got the best results using a bunch of 5gal. buckets to load, having like 24-36 buckets, set em out & fill em with the 'loader bucket' 3, 2, 1... then dump'um in the mixer by hand. keeps the ratios constant.
Here's an idea , if you weld a 12 inch blade extension to your mixer on the bottom edge you would be able to scoop the rite amount of sand and gravel mix . Saving time and keeping you safety grate on. Thanks great videos.
I started out in construction around 8 years old. My uncle was a Mason. Cleaning bricks 5 cents a piece lol. Love that mixer!!! Mortar too!!! We had a mixer with a Wisconsin engine glass carburetor bowl lol. Rope pull and not a rewind one ether. Rope with knot on end manually wrap the rope and hope it starts on first pull. Winter we'd heat sand up. The auger is heavy duty steel so you can bang off concrete or mortar that would built up. 3 batches you could mix up. That thing lasted 20 years.
Great idea of taking the grate off it probably helps with keeping it stiff id make a stand for it then lower it once you have scooped up the mix ,id also have a hose filling a bucket while you are dumping the concrete in the pillings that hose takes forever to get it wet .
Im not sure how much water you might go through on a given pour, but the roof of the skid steer cab looks like a great place to install an on board water tank. A little shurflo pump and some hose down the lift arm and you would be very self contained. Bobcat does make a set of saddle tanks that mount on the rear sides of the machine for use with their rotary sweeper attachment, but I'm guessing they cost more...
Yep but I think the design purpose is to load this with another machine or by hand. Otherwise you'd think they would have a larger lip as its a glaring flaw if you don't care about properly mixing your material. lol.

Pretty cool. Great for making the slump exactly how you want it
That things a lifesaver. I wouldn't hesitate using it on jobs. Saves alot of BS'in around that's for sure
These uploads have been great
Yes, I saw that at 11:54 and cringed, put the guard/grate back on please.
2:37 am here and why am I watching another Andrew Camarata video? Because I can. Hard working man.
For Sonotubes a shorter 2.5-3' gray chute hose might make life easier while keeping center of gravity lower. The 6' long hose probably great for loading concrete forms through a window opening or in hard to reach corners, but it puts the weight unnecessarily high for most small jobs.
@hhhk20 , Because they Must NOT WORK !!
@hhhk20 I know right that shit is so annoying
hhhk20 Not sure why you feel the need to leave useless comments just bringing other people down. 🤷🏻♂️
Just keep on moving
That's a big step up from the old International dump bed and the excavator bro!
I just watched that video.
Another great video Andrew. Discovered these videos 2 weeks ago and it's been a must have everyday. Inspiration. Wish I had the skills to do it all like you.
Also love @12.50 you sit in skidsteer with hose and do it all yourself as per usual 👍🏻
I sure these companies appreciate Andrews free lessons on how to use their equipment! It's like going to class every video!
Man where was this thing 10 years ago.... omg i needed this.
I would have given some consideration to using five gal buckets to measure the water. That way each batch would have had the same consistency.
Ha ha ha thats the stupidest thing I heard today, you don't know much about what you are saying, evidently marc y you have'nt worked with much concrete at all.
That’s exactly what the instructions for this implement tells you to do.
Yes there is a specific ratio but basically wet it tilll it turns soft an puddy like ... add more water of its too stiff ... add some extra dry ingredients if its too runny
With all the cool attachments you can get for the skidsteer, pretty soon Levi will be able to do all the jobs himself.
My jaw dropped seeing that drone footage of the trees.WOW
That’s got to be the easiest way to deal with concrete if it’s too small for a concrete truck. That’s an awesome invention !! And the sand comments about it being dark. Has anyone in the southern part of the United States seen dirt in Upstate New York ? It’s dark too, and rich in everything needed for plants. Wish I could bring some down to Ga. and mix it with this chit dirt we have for a garden. Then I bet a garden would flourish. Keep sending your videos sir, I appreciate everyone you have done.
Thanks.
More videos plz. Your content is very addictive! 👍
Could have used that when you were pouring your hot tub cave roof, man, awesome little attachment....neat

Here's an idea , if you weld a 12 inch blade extension to your mixer on the bottom edge you would be able to scoop the rite amount of sand and gravel mix . Saving time and keeping you safety grate on. Thanks great videos.
I knew that guard needed to come off. I like that attachment. Need one of those!!
As usual you done a great job i really enjoy watching you work you figure the better way every time
My kids: "Dad take us trick or treating!"
Me: "Sorry kids, Andrew just uploaded. There's always next year."
Now that's funny !
I remember another dad didn't take his sons trick or treating "menendez"
@@thekingtroll2 what father doesn't want early retirement? if only my kids will love me as much
You wouldn't need to go out where I am, everything has been closed down due to heavy rains and a lot of flooding.
Too cold and snowy anyways.
Perfect night to introduce the warming powers of a good liquor...lol...jk
#CandyIsDandyButLiquorIsQuicker 😜
That add on is money well spent 👍🏽 it looks cool as hell 👌
Happy Halloween Andrew and Levi! Awesome video as always!
Andrew and all his toys :-) love thr channel man, hope to see more of the cement mixer in action!
This dudes been a content machine lately. Love it!
For smaller jobs this is the berries. Lot's of juice here. Love it Andrew. ThanXx much ;)
:D Agreed!
Im not sure how much water you might go through on a given pour, but the roof of the skid steer cab looks like a great place to install an on board water tank. A little shurflo pump and some hose down the lift arm and you would be very self contained. Bobcat does make a set of saddle tanks that mount on the rear sides of the machine for use with their rotary sweeper attachment, but I'm guessing they cost more...
beautiful area and all that fall color- love the drone shots
That is some precision measuring there.
@ItzMikeOmg tell that to the people at the hard rock in new Orleans
@ItzMikeOmg what are you talking about. ever skyscraper there is uses concrete on its floors
I was wondering how do know how much cement to put in to give you your 3:2:1 ratio?
@@michaelmaker8169 mills weigh it, I use old spackle buckets or buy premixed bags depending on the size of the job.
@@johnnyrocket9372 i see you scoop sand and stone mix in, but how do you know how much cement to put in.
The feel of joy when you realise you have watched Camarata long enough to understand his septic joke.
That inspector...
@@jeffwrightsman7797 Ok, re-do everything !!!
Lol I was thinking I wonder if it’s the same inspector as last job
P
The best part for me was watching you clean it at the end.
So great to see those shipping containers being used for housing. Wish that construction crew had someone to film - would be great to see that go up.
If it had a little longer lip on the bottom I think you cold load it with the grate on.
Yep but I think the design purpose is to load this with another machine or by hand. Otherwise you'd think they would have a larger lip as its a glaring flaw if you don't care about properly mixing your material. lol.
No ones gonna mention how Andrew finally got a well deserved brand deal?
Wow, how about those fall leaf colors from the drone. Pretty.
This is definitely the right choice! I mean buying this concrete mixer. Doing concrete by hand is never really an option. Great video as usual!
Your channel is so unique because it's one person truly being himself. You take your work/livelihood and hobbies seriously and have high standards to get the job done, and not afraid to try anything. I've noticed when a client is being too undecisive you see it coming a mile away and know how to be firm if necessary.
