Starting to look like a Serious Fishing Weapon .... Should do a small snippet of the "mess in the shed" clean up !!!!! Looking forward to the next instalment of being "Shiny and New" paint !!!
What exactly is flow coating? Is that the same as gel coating? In America the term flow coat in painting means that you are applying a final wet coat which is generally a clear coat on automobiles.
Hey mate, i didn't really have the extra coin to replace it at the time, and if i removed i would of damaged it so left it on. But i did change it late down the track :)
Hey, quick question, can u polish up a nice gloss shine on the finished flowcoat with wet and dry paper? or does it have to be painted to get a gloss finish, I’m thinking about doing a flowcoat recoat on a small 14ft single handed sailing dinghy that I am considering buying my 14 year old daughter to sail at the local dinghy sailing club. It’s a badly oxidised red GRP factory gelcoat 31 years of aging. I know the factory gelcoat can shine up, with high grit went dry, but there are a lot of little repairs to do, so I figure a full recoat might be the go, but if it doesn’t shine up, paint might be better. I’d rather less steps as it’s DIY n a cheap boat.
hi Alberto, absolutely! Going to be a final video as well as plenty of fishing action in the future with the boat! thanks for watching, hoping your enjoying the content!
Man great job. I’m doing the exact same thing now and just picked up the flow coat. What did you do with the bottom of the hull did you paint that already before you put it on the trailer? How many coats of flow coat and primer did you end up doing?
Hey bro, I found you from the comment you made on YBS blood about being inspired by him, I hope you do as well as him in a few years to come, you’ll be my first subscribed channel hopefully to go from 1k to the millions! Was the epoxy primer rolled?
Love the boat just curious why you didn’t remove the windscreen and rubber gunwale for the paint work?
