So...I've researched it a lot...more than I want to admit. Professional installers (who install commercial for law agencies, fleets, etc.) will always tell you to ground to where the negative/ground terminal from the battery connects to the truck body/frame. It's usually pretty close so easy enough to move it. I've only heard amateurs and those who do boogered up installs say going to the negative terminal on the battery is OK. It has to do with the computer control systems in the vehicles these days. As one guy who has done hundreds or thousands said, "it'll work fine to go the battery until it doesn't...then you'll wish you'd done it to the ground lug on the body instead when it fries". But, just sharing that input. I know, as you said, you can find others saying the opposite but *my* experience has been they usually aren't the pros. Just my two-cents. But the bracket, which is what this was really about...genius! I wouldn't have thought to do that. Brilliant!!! Looks great!
Thats a pretty slick idea, sonny.
Thanks. Another way to mount gear fast and without making new holes.
That's pretty ingenious, I'm going to copy it!
Thanks. Easy and no holes drilled. Works well.
