What a stubborn mother. We only live once, so it's pretty sad that she wasted her whole life holding a grudge towards her son and used it against her nyab & grandkids. She could've spent it with them in happiness. What a waste of a lifetime spent and a sad way to end it.

Sad how some Mother in laws hate their nyabs. You don’t have to like them but at least respect them! They’re your son’s wife and partner in life. As long as he’s loved and happy is all that matters. Don’t mistreat them like this woman did to her nyab. Life is rough with someone as bitter and hateful as her MIL. They say your greatest teacher will be those who punish you. Your MIL was a very unhappy person whose life was miserable because she wasn't happy that her husband had another woman, therefore her anger was put on you because she hate to see you happy or others happy. Glad you have a loving husband who supports and fight for you. Can't change people and their behaviors, they have to want to change for themselves for it to work. In life, there will people who like you, who dislike, who you love, and who you don't love and vice versa. At the end of the day, choose the battles that is worth fighting for. No need to change someone's mind if they already made up their mind. Glad, you've made different choices for your children and daughter-in-laws because of the experience you had with your evil mother-in-law.
Sounds like my story. My hubby was the black sheep of the family and very hardheaded as well but he loves me unconditionally and protects me against his parents when we first got married. After almost 3 decades, my in laws has changed and they are as different as night and day to us now. I am thankful to see this change in them. I know many Nyabs out there never see this.

My mil is also a monster in law too, just not this horrible because she can't drive, if she was independent she would be worst. Now she's in her elderly age and living with us.
