Yes, that's right -- no more fake-outs! After two years in the making Stained is finally here on RUclips as it was meant to be seen: COMPLETED! :D I'm so excited right now you don't even know!
PLOT SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT! READ ONLY AFTER WATCHING!
So, couple of things.
1. Even though there were things I probably could've fixed up a bit in 'Part 1' of Stained, I decided to just leave it alone. Only thing I did was add the "Trespassers!" soundbite I was missing in the first place.
2. I was originally going to include a minute or so of video after the photographs in the credits. It would've had Sinbad as adult Jim, Teen Derek as teen Hogarth, Nita or Chel for Lilo...but I couldn't find anyone for Nani, which is part of why I pitched the idea. I might eventually finish it and upload it as an 'extras' vidlet, but not any time soon.
More stuff:
I think the vid's pretty straightforward; aftermath of a tragedy and how the characters deal. One thing that I know I'll probably get questions about (besides songs/character/movie names...DON'T DO IT OR I WILL SMITE YOU!!!!! AND SMITE YOU GOOD!!! I HAVE CREDITS FOR A REASON!!) will be the 'explosion' scene. It took me a while to figure out how Jim would move on from living in grayscale, mourning his parents and the life he could've had, to moving on and living a new life despite his loss and I decided that there needed to be a definite rupture. And nothing says 'rupture' like explosions, right guys??? Lol, so, on the literal scale you could say Jim discovered one hellova photoalbum and you could wonder on about who put it there...go ahead, wonder away! OR, look at it on a symbolic level, which is how I intended it to be. So, while Jim is looking at the place where he found his parents' bodies he experiences what I'm calling 'a collision of memories' (aka the blue sparkly bits). The last thing he remembers is when his parents brought Hogarth home for the first time, how happy he was to be a big brother and how proud his parents were of him. That's when Jim realizes how important it is for him to love and cherish the family he does have (Hogarth) rather than hold onto the family he's lost. Also, I tried (well, not 'tried', to be honest it happened by accident XD) to give that whole part (explosion to Jim floating down) a 'death, heaven and rebirth' feeling because I feel like his old self had to die in order for him to be able to begin again.
Oh, and a little bit on Nani and Lilo. My favourite girl to pair with Jim is Audrey, but I found Lilo and Nani to be the perfect pair for the brothers since, in the movie, the sisters also grow up dealing with the loss of their parents. I saw Jim and Hogarth and Nani and Lilo as two halves of a family that, together, make up a new whole one :)

Wow. This video actually made me cry at the part when Jin remembers his parents. Great work and awesome unique ideas. This video was just... wow.
I admit that I teared up at the end when Jim finally looks at Hogarth and he finally realizes that he loves him and he is over his parents death......awwwwww. Loved it and it was amazing!!!! I also understood your symbolism in the explosion and you are one of the few editors that has the ability to put symbolism into crossover!!!!

So beautiful! The emotions just seeping out of this vid were heartbreaking! The pacing was perfect and the story wonderfully told. Worth all the hard work you put into it! :) x
the most amazing crossover movie ever. the plot and the editing were jaw-dropping and all of that combined with perfectly timed music made this short film increadible.
OH. MY. GOD. THIS IS SO DAMN GREAT. I loved the part where Jim sees memories of his past, that's so beautiful. And loved this epilogue ! :)

No words can truly describe how I felt watching this video. It was a long time coming, but without a doubt most definitely worth the wait. The story was so clear and easy to follow. (Well, for the most part--I did question the epic explosion! xD) You took characters from completely different worlds and meshed them all together so seemlessly, it's almost hard to believe it was all fanmade! I loved it so much! I'm pretty sure this is your greatest work yet! It needs a "LOVE" button! "LOVE", I SAY!
*sniffle* WHY YOU MAKE ME SO SAD!! =[ I love this, well worth the wait, it's obvious how much time, effort and love you put into this crossover! I nearly teared up! The ending was like an exhale, they made it! Faved

OMG that ending was the perfect way to end this, I mean that was so flippin adorable!! those pictures, for a second there I thought I was actually watching a trailer to an upcoming disney movie. :D

When I say Jane's face I nearly fell out of my chair and then with the photos, I got the warm fuzzy feeling you get with disney movies. This really is like the best crossover ever ^-^
This is epic. If we had an awards system for RUclips communities, I would so nominate this for an Emmy. Or a Grammy. Or whatever the award for films is called. The story came across perfectly and I really couldn't tell thay anything was from separate films. When the credits came and I saw how many movies were used, my jaw dropped, I thought maybe 3 or 4 at most. This was so well worth the wait. Simply amazing!

...This is one of the BEST crossovers on RUclips. Not exaggerating. The plot was great, the PS close to perfect, the characters a wonderful fit. You have a gift in editing, really. I was sad that it's over, but thank goodness for the Favorites playlist and the Repeat button. :D

This is... just stunning. It's amazing how everything just flows so perfectly! You used a multitude of different movies for different scenes (E.G., the cafe scene with scenes from The Iron Giant, Treasure Planet and The Emperor's New Groove) but you made it all fit and seem like one big scene. I'm so glad you finished this. Well done! :D
I'm not very good with words, so this doesn't do the video justice, but this was a video of EPIC PROPORTIONS! Totally worth every second I waited for it! Everything flowed smoothly together, with zero awkward moments in the masking (?), and nothing was short changed. The music was also great, and the pictures at the end gave the whole thing a warm, fuzzy, and complete feeling :D

Great Job! Everything was totally believable! I have to say my favorite part though was the pictures at the very end! They were awesome! The diner scene in the beginning was incredible too. Everything flowed together as if it was meant to be that way.

Oh my goodness! This was really worth the wait! I can't remember when I found the first part, but it was a long time ago, and I must say that this is a beautiful piece of editing. It's more than editing, it's art. You should be really, really proud of yourself. This is simply beautiful. =) I love the symbolism (rebirth) and how both Jim and Hogarth end up with another family in the end.
