2.2 is finally here, and I can finally get to work making the layouts of my dreams :) Very proud of how this first one turned out and how it all flows together; I think the last 30% or so goes especially hard.
This is my longest layout yet and almost certainly my most difficult (hard-insane demon maybe?). I know all of my recent layouts have been very challenging, so I'll aim for my next one to be much easier and shorter. However, I wanted to truly go all out with my debut 2.2 layout and experiment with the various features it offers, so that meant being willing to create some more complex gameplay. As usual I did my best to keep it fair, and while it might take some learning I think it's very fun once you get the hang of it.

This genuinely looks so fun, im excited for this to be decorated, the gameplay is so good the level kinda storyboards itself

I loved the fact that the structure is simple but the gameplay is very complex, it's not wow an insane structure that leaves you depressed just by looking at it. It's a simplicity that goes well with the level, so you end up focusing on how super fun and well-constructed the gameplay becomes. Congratulations bro, you deserve more
That laugh was so freaking goofy i love it
Awesome layout, but the camera gets a little wonky at 0:39, I'd recommend putting a static camera to stop the wobbling.

I'd say you could've used some static triggers in the sections with lots of reversing (but otherwise it's really fun!)
Yeah, that's something I'll improve on over time as this is all still new to me. Already updated the level with some minor camera changes
Awesome level. The only criticism I could find was the balance of difficulty, and how one part is insane rated, but the next is hard demon

This is really cool! My only complaint I can see from the gameplay is that it becomes kind of hard to read when the camera keeps moving back and forth (like at 0:38). Maybe a static camera would help there? Anyway, I'm gonna go give this a try

Layout is very good and gameplay looks very fun, only thing i'd say is to get rid of all those default blocks inside the structures and keep only the outline, since it's wasting a lot of objects and it doesn't even look that good

My one bit of critique is how jarring the turns are. Maybe you could put a couple of camera triggers to halt the camera on the x axis until the player turns around and then reattach it when they get back to the correct screen position?

My only issue with this is sight readability. Even when it’s just a layout it seems impossible to see the intended path. Aside from that it’s amazing!

How do you make the level stay in sync when you change directions that often? I tried and I can't make it very long before it's unplayable/unbuildable for me.
Yeah it doesn't always work unfortunately, it's kinda buggy and difficult to build with. My workaround was putting down a temporary song trigger when using a start pos so that the music would be in the same place as where it would be if I were playing the level from the start
@@BronzeSpaceComet Thank you! I never thought of that. I hope RopTop fixes this in the future though, it's really annoying. But for now I will for sure be using the song trigger.

where there were early 2.0 levels and early 2.1 levels, there are bound to be early 2.2 levels. Not bad, but riding the line between bearable and enjoyable.
