    Sounds Awesome!!!
    The beeps give it a very cool touch.

      True! The POKEY has this unique sound even though it's basically just the same old beeps and boops. Maybe because it is often used in stereo by using two chips simultaneously? I think there are very few PSG chips that are commonly used in stereo :)

    This is like if we got immersed in an 8 bit world by AI in our sixties and it came up with a refreshing intro song

      It is a real name, but it's often used as a meme example to show how absurdly difficult Polish names/words can be to pronounce or write.

      I think you got the wrong video again, but yes, this is an aquarium :) It's indeed a fish and it is indeed called a "splendid garden eel" 😊
      Edit: Oh, now I see it was intentional. I like that sense of humor :)

    How do you get your POKEY waves so clean?

    • @KYLXBN
      @KYLXBN  10 месяцев назад

      Hello :)
      Do you mean the waveform or the sound? The waveform is just the exact unmodified lossless output of ASAP. As for the audio, it is kept lossless and unmodified until uploading to RUclips so that explains the sound (same with all the other videos in this channel-I never upload in MP3 or AAC format).
      I hope that helps!

    wonder if you can smooth out the other game system sounds the same as you did with the nes.

    • @KYLXBN
      @KYLXBN  10 месяцев назад +1

      Well, the NES is unique in that its flaws can be seen as "cutting corners" (either for cost cutting or because the technology just didn't allow it at the time). For example, I doubt the triangle wave was intentionally given stairsteps because they wanted stairsteps in it (it's probably to simplify the logic circuit and not for artistic reasons) However, the other chips are perfect as they are-they create square waves and they do it perfectly well. I'm not sure how we can improve that more :)

    • @trench01
      @trench01 10 месяцев назад

      @@KYLXBN Have you tried to make the square waves to smooth waves and if so how did it sound? Since most old systems have this.
      Also you gave a link to the file to use for the NES a year ago when I asked (I dont see the link/comment now), but I don't see you openly presenting it to all in description. How come?
      I tried your thing and it sounded great with Zelda intro. Thanks

      @@trench01 I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure what you meant by smooth square waves. Square waves are characterized by their... square shape, and it would sound *a lot* different if we were to replace it with for example a sine wave. (And unfortunately, I haven't tried that yet)
      As for the link, I have been moving from one repository to another... first GitHub, then GitLab, then my own self-hosted server, and then back to GitHub. Some things were lost along the way and some were left behind. With that said, here's the modified nsfplay: gitlab.com/kylxbn/nsfplay
      I hope that helps!
