  • 950x2x2 this evening followed by a drop set at 900x5. I took a deload week last week and feeling pretty good. All is progressing according to plan... and honestly every training session is shocking to me.

    I plan to squat 1000x3 this coming March at the IHRSA show in San Diego. This will be the conclusion of my Grand Goals campaign when combined with my nearly 3 reps at a 1000lbs deadlift a few years ago. It will be done just a few weeks shy of my 43rd birthday and also be my final “feat of strength”. This is a culmination of over 30 years of training and working with some of the best minds in the world on rehab/prehab, recovery and training modalities. I couldn’t even attempt this without the knowledge and support of the Kabuki Strength Team who are directly responsible for managing my training, recovery, and much more. Wish me luck and I hope you’ll follow along as I train to squat 1000lbs for a triple. And to head off the inevitable questions about the bands on my upper legs... read articles after googling “Duffin Compression”.

    Are those compression bands to protect the abductors? I remember you had injured your abductor not to long ago. Crazy strong! 1,000 + is coming!

      They are for cheating. Without those compression bands he would have only gotten 225 or maybe 315 at the most.

    Impressive!!! Will you please do a video with you squatting bare knee, with a high bar position, and taking it to ass to grass? I'm curious about what the carryover is from equipped squatting like in the video to more of an olympic style squatting.

    After you squat your 1000lbs for 3, you should take your needed rest days and see if you could squat 500kg for a nice single....I would think your body would be primed to do that after hitting 1000lbs for 3. Great job.

      OK bud,goback to your room until you learn how to think about weights in excess of 185, your 1ROM squat max.

    • @JosephQPublic
      @JosephQPublic 4 года назад +9

      BadAssBlackOverlord - the two 950s looked at least parallel. The rest don’t matter all that much considering it’s just for training. RIGHT above parallel in the gym setting doesn’t matter.

    • @Eringobragh2024
      @Eringobragh2024 4 года назад +4

      Agreed, it's higher than comp depth, yet it's still an amazing feat of strength and obviously useful training. I'd say his comp squat would be 950 for a single which is incredible

    • @nikej24
      @nikej24 4 года назад +3

      Yea, call back when you can unrack 315. Lol. Calling a dude out for squatting that much. Even if he didn't hit depth, he didn't say that in the title he went a2g. Stupid troll.
