    Dont forget the smokeless two stroke oil (1%) in your fuel as anti corrosion additive when using modern ethanolized e5 and e10 fuels in older cars. ( You might ruin your SU carbs / EFI and the fuel pump with the modern ultra dry fuels! -- so use 1% two stroke oil as additive!) In Germany the Lotus and Jaguar Club does so!

    Ahhh the Vitesse ❤
    My dad had one when i was a titch.
    I remember him saying back then that the Vitesse V8 was the most exciting car he'd had together with his 77 Capri 3.0S

    They just don’t make them like that anymore. A car that sounds that good would give me a lift and a boost every time I got in it. Good day or the worst, this has got to make you feel 1% better about life 😀😀😀

    I had a few SD1's over the years and the only good thing about them was the V8 engine, which was actually an American V8 Buick 215cu/in from the sixties.The build quality was dreadful with leaky windscreens, rusty doors and sills and terrible electrics.I don't think I ever had one without a wet boot carpet:)The 2600 and 2300 six cylinder engines were junk they had a terrible reputation for seizing camshafts due to a tiny non return valve in the cylinder block which would block up with sludge.Saying that I loved my V8 Vanden Plas EFI it looked lovely in Moonraker blue and beige leather.

    Was that last car too leave E redge? They didn't make them in 88 surely? The 800 S were out then

    • @BiggerBadderBrian
      @BiggerBadderBrian  3 года назад +1

      That one was mine. There were some that were 'registered' in August 1987 onwards meaning they were E reg but they had been manufactured in 1986 and stored in a field somewhere I imagine. That one was around 80th from last to be produced in July 1986.
      So for a short time there were SD1's being sold alongside the 800.

      @@peteramberley9952 It was a JE Engineering custom made stainless system, still with bends and silencers. JE Engineering seemed to have a knack for making nice sounding exhausts. The engine was also a gently modded 3.5JE Engineering product.
