    What an amazing year of makes! 🎉🎉

    Hiya Yvette, I really enjoy your summary 😊 I am also curvy and decided that I need a bit of shaping on garments as straight up and down or over box styles aren’t flattering g. I made a Friday Pattern Co Ilford jacket and it did nothing for me so was passed on. I just recently made a toile of a M&Mills dress and I’m not using my beautiful navy needlecord as it’s not a good look, whereas their Florence dress is great for my shape 😊

      Awesome, sounds like you've got some great projects lined up!

    This was a really fun video. I loved hearing your thoughts about your projects after they've had time to live in your wardrobe.
    For someone with a fuller bust, I cannot recommend Cashmerette enough. Their Concord Tee and Grafton Top fit better than any other T-shirt for me. If you're doing any freebie tees, you probably need to do an FBA. Whitney from Tomkat Stitchery has a good tutorial for FBAs with no darts that I've used before.
    And nobody better say anything negative about your Shrek tee photo shoot or they'll have to answer to me! 😆 Seriously, such a wild, sexy, silly, cool photo shoot. Loved it!!

      Yes, I'll definitely have to give Cashmerette a go at some point!
      Haha no one has been mean about ShrekShoot yet but appreciate that you've got my back!

    I had that cotton seersucker with the green grid and blue flowers, and I made a dress with the patina blouse and put a solid colored ruffle on the collar, and it turned out great (but it is a bit of a statement).

      Oh wow that sounds absolutely fab! I do love the fabric, would be nice to use it for something less dressy as well

    Hi Yvette, thanks for sharing all of your lovely makes. I love the roscoe blouse you made, the colour and bold print really suit you. I also love the Danny pants in the bold print, so pretty. I won't be sharing a make 9 because I change my mind too much! Tania x

      Thanks for watching! I'm a big fan of that Roscoe blouse as well. Need to make another. So many patterns so little time 😵‍💫

    What a productive year! I think that Gilbert Top from the co-ord set will look well separated from the shorts, maybe with a cute pair of jeans or denim shorts or your Danis. French Terry is great for in-between days, where you need a bit more warmth than just a tee or cami. You could add a small peplum to the Penelope Top. That would make it more wearable and quite cool and floaty for summer.

      @blossomsandwich4232  8 месяцев назад

      Thank you! Good idea to give the Gilbert top another chance in so different combos. I'm still not convinced on French Terry, I get easily warm so I need removable layers. Still thinking about what to do about that Penelope top 🤔

    That was a really interesting summary of your 2023 makes. It is always worth interrogating why you do or don’t wear garments as it can save you from making the same mistakes in the future. I didn’t start logging all of my makes into Stash Hub until the back end of 2023 so I plan to do this at the end of 2024. I have realised however that I have far fewer bottom tier garments than you, I seem to be wearing all of mine which is great.
    Rather than being drawn to a print or the beauty of a fabric I try to look for gaps in my wardrobe and make sure I buy patterns and fabric to make items I need and invariably end up making multiples that look different because of the fabric choice.
    I’m so glad you took the idea of Stash Hub and ran with it, it’s such a great tool and I use it almost daily.

    I’m 5’2” and same colouring as you and same body shape. Although, I’m bigger than you I was your size at your age. I find Itch to Stitch patterns work very well for my shape because Kerris designs to allow for curves. Not sure if you’ve tried her patterns? I’ve also noticed people with our height and shape like making Cashmerette and Love Notions patterns as they accommodate a fuller bust.

      Not tried any of those pattern companies yet so will definitely have to check them out! I've reached the stage where any weight gain goes straight to my boobs 😅 so I'm really appreciating patterns with more cup sizes

      @@blossomsandwich4232 I had small boobs and rarely wore a bra until I was 30 then something crazy happened and now I have a 10” difference between upper and full bust. My mum didn’t wear a bra until she turned 50 and even now she doesn’t really need one. She’s 83.

    What about adding a 3" band to the bottom of the Penelope blouse? Also many of your middle-tier garments are in pale pastel colours which don't seem to be your favourites.

    • @blossomsandwich4232
      @blossomsandwich4232  8 месяцев назад

      Ah cool idea! I'm not the biggest fan of wearing a peplum but I guess I could just add a flat band to increase the length 🤔 good point about the pastels, I'm definitely more into wearing brights so will consider it when I'm buying new fabric

    I made the Vera top and I love it. I advise trying it agin👍🏼also the Stellan tee is a free French Navy pattern that you might like. ❤😊Great video.

      Yeah I definitely need to give it another go at some point. I'm not very experienced with sewing jersey so I think I need to work my way up to doing that neckline properly

    I feel with your hair color and skin tone, black is wrong for you. Maybe try a nice chocolate brown or a dark blue, not quite navy. Also the light purple color garment in the bottom and middle tier do nothing for your skin tone. You make beautiful garments I think it's just the colors that get you. Love this video, great job.

    Loved watching this thank you, some beautiful makes! You kept me company in my sewing room while i was making a Pogonip. 😅. I’m with you on the black, I don’t think it suits all skin tones, including mine. I always prefer navy or grey or brown.
