Thanks for your videos, Nick. They've really helped me get started. For the record, the brightness control on TVs and Projectors adjusts the brightness of the blacks levels. This is why you were getting washed out darks when you raised the brightness. Also - contrast adjusts the white levels.... Either way, I have 2 of these projectors and plan on using them this year. Unfortunately, if you need more brightness, you will actually have to use a better (more expensive) projector. Unfortunately, there isn't really a "industry standard" for lumen ratings. Good luck in your shows, and thanks again!
Thank you for all the information about this! Thankfully, I don't have to worry anymore since I replaced the projector with a giant panel screen. It's definitely wayyyyy brighter and I actually have to turn it down 😂
Thank u for the video. I am learning alot from u. Can u do a video on setting up the pi and downloading the FPP. Then how do I put the slight sequence. In the pi?
Hi Nick, i just got the PI4 for TV virtual matrix. Can you guide me how to set up the PI. I heard it needs SD card and that the card needs to be formatted. Any idea how to go about it? Thank you NIck.
It's a little bit of a long explanation, but I do have a video already made about setting up all the software on the pi. It's this video here ruclips.net/video/pjJMpwaXGTQ/видео.html . The title says for FPP V5, but it still works with FPP V6 too. If you need any other help, let me know!
Hello Nick I’m using an old 80 inch tv as a matrix or p5 panel. I am using a dedicated laptop and beaglebone for my show. Do I need to install a separate pi for virtual matrix? Tks , Randy
I'm not exactly sure if a beaglebone can run a virtual matrix, or a laptop. I'm assuming you're using xschedule on your laptop, and you probably can run the tv off of that. However if your tv is very far away, you'll need a long hdmi cord (or whatever cord you use) and after about 50 feet you need to buy boosters for it. So if your tv is relatively close to the laptop or beaglebone, and they can run it, then you shouldn't need a pi.
I know for certain that if you have pi 3s, you can only run one projector. But I'm not quite sure for pi 4s. There are 2 hdmi ports on a pi 4, but I still think you can only run one per pi. It is possible though to run lights and a projector on one pi wether it's a pi 3 or 4.

Great video Nick, at some point can you show how your network is configured IE the PI master and the PI remote, thanks
Yes, that video is in my list of video ideas!
Sweet!
very cool information
Glad you found it useful!
good videos i want to know can you hook up multable items such as a tv and projecter
Yes you can! Almost any video device like a TV, projector, monitor etc should work with it, you just need to specify the size of it in FPP.

I already have a video on that called how to setup fpp v5
Ok I will look at it now. Thank u

Can you show me where I can pull a movie clip with audio that I can use for my opening...for example National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
There are a few ways to do it. If you could, email me at bridgeportsbrightestlights@gmail.com and I can tell you what ways you can do it there.
Nick, can you do a video on how to send on/off & standby commands to projector through RPI/FPP
Thanks for excellent tutorial videos
Thanks! Glad the videos help! I'll try to see what I can do about the video idea.

Sorry about that, I probably should've worded it differently.

@@How2Pixel thank you very Nick. I’m gonna try connecting to my laptop first before getting a PI.
Good idea
If you want to run 3 different projectors in your show, do you have to use a single pi for each plus a main for your other lights?

Can u run a Xmas show and projector from ur computer
I know you can run lights from your computer with a controller, but I'm not sure about a projector.
@@How2Pixel I run an hitachi 301 projector from my Pi controller
