My aunt and uncle went to one of his shows once. They sat no where near the front so they didn't bring any protection. Here comes Gallagher up the isle with a hose, sees theme sitting there, "BET YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE SAFE DIDN'T YA" and blasted them. I love this story.
i seeem to recall? Which Timeline, Western Washingtons of, fire hose haha I timelines and shifts, that's the real freaky one huh... Remember it seems Tacoma Mall or the Fair, seeing even? I thought we met him, we i me who whom when ever ne=ver but a memory all fades away, smash-o-maticyes! where's that police authority smasher send me a trullioh iiiuuu fuchcoghers!
I met Gallagher in Knoxville, Tn, I couldn't think of nothing to say but "Are you working hard"? He replied " I'm getting to old for this shit". 😆 R.I.P.
Part of my childhood and into adolescence, teen years are going. It's sad. Gallagher was one of those comics that as a kid I grew up laughing too, but as I go a little older I LEARNED things from his comedy and then found myself agreeing with and views on things aligning. Gallagher was great, simply great. The smashing of the watermelon, etc... it's so, so... American. It could very well be SYMBOLIC. There was more to it. Perhaps we'll discover it's true meaning, or interpret his performance art into something meaningful.... OR... simply Gallagher smashed them for the hell of it! Why not!??!! Thank you Gallagher!
Loved watching his shows on Showtime in the 80s as a kid. The adult jokes went over my head as a kid, but I loved the props and the way he told stories. Not to mention the Sledge-o-matic parts. Great man. RIP!
6 times Ive seen him live, Im thankful. The tent in warwick, ruth ech hall in clearwater FL,CT, Exeter RI, Heck in providence RI, I remember his sledge o matics were stolen in true RI fashion. He was pissed. He smashed food with the bar stool and it was his birthday to boot! The show must go on.
I had the good fortune to see Gallagher live it was wild. The first 5 rows of the audience were wearing black plastic trash bags. They were happy for this when the cottage cheese came out!
It’s funny…as the years roll by, there are more and more tarps in the front rows. In some of the earlier clips, people are huddled under the 2 available trash bags like Pompeii victims lol
I guess its just me, but I don't find this guy that funny or entertaining. He is doing a show in my area... $25. Nobody I know is going, but i am sure he will draw a crowd. Can't see paying $25 to watch a guy smash watermelons and such for 2 hours. Maybe I haven't taken the time to watch full act and am missing something, so can anyone tell me what is so funny about smashing a watermelon or any other food?
+61elle Watch one of his whole shows sometime. When I saw him, he did a lot of political jokes, prop gags and more. When he came to my town, some of his jokes were town-specific as in he researched the area before coming. The sledge-o-matic is only the ending and it is a satire making fun of those outrageous late night infomercial salespeople selling products which often are pretty much a joke themselves. :)
+61elle --> He doesn't smash food for his whole act...he only closes with it. It's about 10% of his act. He added it to distinguish himself from other standup comedians. He is a current events comedian and does comedic commentary on society.
Rest In Peace to a great legend of our times! Gallagher you’ll be missed by all of us! 😢
I absolutely concur with your statement.

I love this story.
Hope they weren't hurt.

RIP Gallagher
Thanks for the years of laughs
Seen 5 of his shows - - Never a disappointment
I saw Gallagher live 4 separate times in Jacksonville, FL (1993, 1996, 2001, and 2004). I had a blast each time.
RIP to a truly funny comedian.
The delivery is just perfect. “Mmmwould you believe... staroooobe lights!?” God it gets so evil-looking and psychotic in a heartbeat!
To be in the front row of a Gallagher show is truly an honor.
He made it fun to be there. Plus, he's having a blast. You gotta love him for it.
We've saw him twice. The first time he did a 3 hour show. Kudos to you Gallagher. You are 1 of the best.
RIP old buddy!
I met Gallagher in Knoxville, Tn, I couldn't think of nothing to say but "Are you working hard"? He replied " I'm getting to old for this shit". 😆 R.I.P.
I remember when he started his shows. I watched Every single one of them. This man was so extraordinary and hilarious 😂
“Would you believe.... strobe lights??” 🤣🤣🤣
Holy, epileptic seizure...
I remember seeing this for the first time when I was 7 or 8, and that part had me dying laughing! It still just as hilarious today! 🤣🤣🤣
Officer: "Have you been drinking tonight?"
Citizen: "No. I just came from a Gallagher show."
RIP Gallagher (1946-2022).
The dance he does in the strobe lights makes me lose it
I still find myself saying "you can HAVE a banana daiquiri!!!" every so often.
I love all of his specials, but this is from one of his four best.
It's hard not to like a multi-use cordless food processor with only one moving part.
This man was so funny. He had the record for number of stand up shows and heart attacks .
Ah, Gallagher, you are so missed. Thank you for the years of laughter! RIP.
RIP sir, I always loved watching you as kid and as an adult. ❤️

One of the best comedians ever
For those who were sent here by Dr. Rice's signals and systems class, I thought it was the wrong video too. Welcome to the show.
Gallagher was one of the most original comics ever! He was funny and his shows were FUN!! May he rest in peace. ❤
This guy is a genius.
RIP to Gallagher and Sledge o Matic.
Rest in peace.
WHO WOULD NOT LIKE THIS??!!!
Believe me, there are some who think this isn't funny. Uncle fuckers. I love this shit.
Only Gallagher was worthy enough to lift the Sledge-O-Matic.
Really...! Screw Mjolnir...!
Oh I know what you’re gonna say, “look how messy this is!”
*just get out the Mr. Clean*
Strobe lights and Gallagher magic
I’m sure the theater appreciated the chocolate milk.
RIP Gallagher now watermelons will be unharmed by the sledge-o-matic
RIP you funny sob
Went off the handle for strobe lights.
Your coment is old
Good rest to the greatest "prop man" of the 1980s.
Whats that? It doesn't matter! Its gone!
Wonder what it was.
🤣🤣🤣
This was a funny guy. Wish I discovered his comedy sooner.

A Mercedes Benz emblem on the butcher's block too funny
Looks like a peace sign.
Rest in peace our good friend. And I hope god has enough plastic. S-O-M!!
I was up close that one of his concerts I didn't have a speck of food on me though thanks for the plastic
That's why they bring that, to protect themselves. I would've been especially careful when he did the Mr. Clean.
classic
Which one has the classic WATERMELLON? 🍉🍉🍉
COMPARABLE to George Carlin BUT Gallagher had some funky props!
can someone please help me?, i still don't get it...
i feel sorry for the people in the front!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The lawsuits that would pile up today lmfao
I hate cottage cheese! I want banana daiquiri!!!!!!!!!!
Alisha Will you can HAVE a banana daiquiri!!!
What made this great?.... Golly Gee Wiz, none of us do this and if you do.... Let's go Cow Tipping! LOL
You know I always thought I'd hate to be the people who have to clean up after one of his shows.
Any 380 students here?
i wonder how many holes there are in that stage
Funny? Of course......But genius.

It's not the whole show. This is the end of the show. He does other stuff too.
We looked forward to his comedy specials on HBO back in the day. They don’t make them like him anymore.
My gf is from Saline Valley
Blue Man Group has NOTHING on this act! 🤣🫡
