Thanks for watching! 😃
Keeping the cast iron bath tub was a smart move. And, heat vents are always put under windows on the outside wall. Good that you moved that. I think the remodel looks fantastic. Plus, I really enjoyed watching the remodel series.
I totally understand why you kept your bath tub. I’m not replacing my tub with one that’s subpar quality. The bathroom is beautiful and you know it’s quality work because you did it yourself. Thanks for sharing your talent.
You did a heck of a job. Love it all.
Yes he did!!
As long as you love everything that’s all that matters but I must say you are the cleanest demo remodel person I have ever seen.
Always gotta keep the phases in between sections of workplace areas free as is possible, of debris, as that is a major reason of which is why accidents happen, …
it's contagious! I am a programmer and have nothing to do with repairs, but after watching this video I have a strong desire to streamline the processes in my work. Time-lapses like these are nice to watch for a while. It's like meditation
The Fixer 👍
🏆 Made it to end of bathroom remodel playlist 🏆
Thank YOU for watching all of them! 😃
You make your skill set look easy when we all know it’s not easily accomplished. Thanks for showing us all the details
We live in a 1940 house and had a guy redo out cast iron tubs, both of which look just like yours. It was quite a process. He not only cleaned it first but filled all the pits that occur after 80 years of drips, etc., like you would for a car's finish. Then he sanded and etched and then put the epoxy glaze on it. They look just like new and it's been seven years. The only annoying thing about that process is the smell. Boy, is it strong! And it lingers for a couple of days. But well worth it. Love all your videos, by the way. Most interesting and informative DYI videos on RUclips.
Baseboards are placed below windows to optimize the flow of hot air. Cold air sinks and warm air rises. So cold, dense air from the window sinks to the floor and actually pushes the hot air from the baseboard out and up into the room. Tub is classy and unique. Loved watching your remodel.
You NAILED this Q&A! Also, thank you for NOT addressing opinions :) You truly did a fabulous job and by the way GREAT move on keeping the tub! I wish we had kept ours instead of going with a fiberglass replacement, which in NO WAY compares to a cast iron tub. I love watching your videos. If you ever need a project in south Georgia, my husband and I would be thrilled for you to use our home in a video:) I love how you do ALL your research, you leave no stone unturned. Congratulations to you and your wife on the delivery of your first child, such a blessing.
What you accomplished is beautiful. I've helped my husband remodel a bathroom before in a week. We didn't feel like we took a week off to have a vacation. It was a major job. I'm thankful it turned out like we wanted.
We don't grade on opinions and I hope all grade on craftsmanship and knowledge, so far the appearance looks great
Matt, I know hardly anything about construction, but I'm pretty sure you did that bathroom wrong. ;) (Just thought I'd pile on for fun, 'cause you love it so much.) 😂
Love the color, love the tile, love the tub! (Hate plastic tubs).
Love that you kept the tub!! Quality and eco friendly to re-use.
An absolutely beautiful transformation! Well done!!!
You did an awesome job. At the end of the day it is your home. I look forward to more of your remodeling projects.
You did an awesome job and you can’t please everyone. Great job.
Love it! Tiles are fabulous!
And you can't beat a cast iron tub! Hands down the best! And WOW on the outcome of having it redone!
👍👍👍 Yes when I did my bathroom remodel I kept my cast-iron tub and I’m glad I did. It’s held up it looks great it’s been four years now. I really really like the color of the walls in the bathroom tile also!😁
I'm impressed! It looks amazing! I for one know exactly what you went thru renovating your bathroom as we just finished ours about a month ago. We got three estimates from contractors and honestly we just chuckled at their estimates! So we decided to do it ourselves. Granted it took us longer to do it but we did it with better supplies and fixtures and we think it came out a lot better for a third of what the contractors wanted. Congrats on your new bathroom!
The bathroom looks awesome! You have done a great job on all you renovations!!!
Great job. Watched the whole remodel, learned some things and enjoyed it! Thanks.
I like the job done from scratch - inside out. Fantastic its so clean, enjoyable and beautiful 😍
This was an amazing remodel! Your attention to detail is fantastic! Great work!😊❤️👍
I really enjoyed the time lapse and it’s STILL the best bathroom I’ve ever seen, remodel or not!
Very talented, I have enjoyed watching .
I wish I was 30 years younger and doing the work that you do. You have alot of knowledge. Wish you and your family great success!!
I love the tub, good choice in deciding to keep it.
EXCELLENT in answering all the great questions. I didn't have any, however, it was neat to hear about the ones you did get. You did a Great job! My contractor also watched your video, and he was impressed. (He is not easily impressed). He basically said, "you are a professional, who knows what he is doing."
Totally enjoyed watching all episodes of the remodel
😊😊
Congratulations on the new baby! That is very exciting!
The tub looks great after it's been refinished imo. The whole bathroom looks awesome. Great job! 😊
love the old art deco tubs they last forever
Congratulations Matt. Had no idea y'all had a child. I Pray mother and child are well and the little one is growing and happy. This is wonderful news.
Absolutely beautiful! Great job!
Congratulations on the new addition! Amazing job!!
This BR renovation is EPIC!
The bathroom looks fantastic! Love that tile especially with the light blue wall. I wouldn't have gotten rid of that tub either (besides cast iron tubs are not cheep). Congrats on the new baby!
You did a fabulous job and I enjoyed watching it!
Cast iron tubs retain the heat of the hot water much better and longer!
Love the transformation.
Thank sir! I enjoy watching your video.

Yes! I am pumped! Thanks to subscribers like you! You give me motivation to keep making these videos!!
Hi the reason for putting heat under window is to "kill" the cold air from the window, if you fit it away from the window the convection currents set up by the heat would pull the cold air down off the window and across the floor and you would have a cold draught across your bathroom floor. loved the video. building, plumbing and electrical standards are totally different in the UK but still enjoyed watching.
Thank you for answering my question about cleaning the tub! What type of acid and name? I love the tube! You did a fantastic job!

Dude! I like the tub!
Amazing!! I actually stumbled across your video by accident the time lapse reno and I watched the entire thing learned so many new tricks. Really really thankful! I logged in because I wanted to subscribe and also ask some questions. This FAQ literally answered all my questions! Except one.. amazing job I’ll certainly be looking to your channel and keeping an eye on some of the great work you’re doing. You may have answered this in one of the other videos and I do apologize I’m on my phone and on the go. But do you have the name of the colour that you used in the bathroom I really like it and would like to use it too. Thank you again for sharing
wow...amazing
Windows are traditionally the worst insulated surfaces in a building shell. ... In the twentieth century, to combat that cold feeling and keep the room comfortably warm, radiators were always placed under a window. The rising heat of the radiator forms a kind of hot air curtain that shields you from the cold air. Kinda makes sense really.
Love the bathroom.
Great job Matt. Is the kitchen next?
I love your bathroom its beautiful
Yes, I watched, & yep, I enjoyed watching you go through your diligent process of remodeling your bathroom, … but I have a couple of questions, and as I am watching this vid, you just answered my question, & my 2nd question, … in your 1st 2 addresses, ….
But I can give you a couple of shortcuts about your mud work, … Indeed, using the fiberglass tape is always a positive plus, … but I noticed you sanding, your 1st, & 2nd coats of mud, … being as I had gotten to the point of doing so much mud work, that I was knocking it out in 2 coats of mud, & even got to the point of getting away with even a single coat of mud, … in certain situations, … especially if it is just covering a stress crack, with a piece of the fiberglass tape, ….
I would use my mud knife, to knock the edges off of the high spots, being as I used a lot of easy sand 20, … and then mix up a tray of mud, with a squirt of dish soap, … which keeps the air bubbles from making a nasty mess of my work, … so for the 1st, & 2nd coats, (if need be), I just knock down the high spots with my 12pm stainless mud knife, mix up a new tray, & put a final slurry coat of mud over the area, spreading it far enough to deceive the eyes of anyone that would put a straight edge against the wall, … and not leave excessive high, or low spots, in the surrounding areas adjacent to the patched area, … it is easier, to just add a fine layer of mud over a low spot, than it is to spend an hour, making a lot of dust, trying to sand off a high spot, … some walls, may need to be shimmed, or even have a thin, (1/4” thick sheet layered into a truly low spot, & have the edges of it filled in with mud, in order to eliminate the necessity of removing/replacing drywall, & shimming, or replacing the warped studs, or joists, … But if that is what the owner is paying for, then give them, their due, because they are the boss, (unless it goes against code, which might take a tactful conversation with the owner, before moving ahead with a project, as per their directives), … (sometimes they get it, & sometimes, they don’t, but do not, for any reason, become the fall guy, patsy, for a “catch 22”, scenario), …
Congrats on the baby and the bathroom looks great! What did you use for the floor?
My re enameled tub looks great.
I have that same bathtub in my house and when I remodel that bathroom I'm keeping it and getting it resurfaced.
Do you know what your next major project will be?
Also -- Congrats on parenthood to both of you ❤️🎉
the kitchen is all that is left and needs new cabinets
My opinion : I like everything about your new bathroom..😀
Your bathroom is awesome ❤️ I need help now haha
Eu não entendo nada do que vc fala mas gosto de ver seus vídeos são motivacionais
I have the same tub. Refinished.
Wow I’m early lol. It looks great though man !
Beautiful
okay, so i need you to remodel something else bc i just binge-watched all of your time-lapses lollll
How did you learn how to do this? Great job!
Im late to the party, but the bathroom looks AWESOME! I have hot water baseboard heat as well and unfortunately, its along the same wall yours way. I want to move it. Did you do it yourself or did you hire a plumber/have your friend who's a plumber do it? If you did it yourself, how hard was it to do?
Love your videos! I don't have any power in my bathrooms or the 2 outside outlets. We had a major hail storm that did $44,000 damage to our house. The outside outlet by the back door had one side of the flip covers knocked off leaving the plug exposed. My late husband kept saying he would replace it but never did. Could this outlet be the problem? I've pushed all the GFI's related to the bath & outside outlets with still no power. Can you advise?
I have the exact same tub and I did the exact same thing. It was doing great until the plumber came in. I would do it again!!!
First of all the bathroom is so beautiful. My bathroom is about the same size and in your option I would like to know about how much would this job cost.
You are very talented! I want to send my husband over. 😂 What color and brand paint did you use. Thx!
