Hello girls, another information you might want to know is that in north Greece where i am from when you ask one with everything it has meat, tomato, onions, potatoes and ketchup - mustard. In south Greece the one with everything has tzatziki instead of ketchup - mustard.
Nice apartment, fireplace and good job with "τυλιχτά"(wraps). I see that you are adding more Greek words in your speech and that's beautiful. Enjoy the last warm days. Winter is coming! PS: Snowy Stockholm is exquisite.
I lived in Greece full time 1991-2008, from only few months old to 17 years old, went off to england for studies, then 2011-2013 stayed in Greece, 2013 went back to England, 2015 to 2018 was in Greece. now Greece Remains holiday to see my family.
Cats love heat. And they would even let their fur burn. As did the cats my grandmother used to have that slept by the fire in the fireplace. It’s a first for me to see beef in skewers. Usually it’s pork or even better chicken or most rarely it’s lamp. You need a potatoe peeler though and make sure to wash your vegetables really well to remove dirt and pesticides.
@@athenswives got also a suggestion now that it comes in mind. Ask where you can buy a pan directly for use over fire or a wok will also do the job and also a steel or better a cast iron triangular base with legs for it. In Greek we call that triangular base πυροστιά ( complex word made out of φωτιά-πυρ-fire and εστία-stove one of its meaning cause εστία means house also). Supply yourselfs with pine wood and before you start frying the potatoes in the pan or wok boil them a little bit. In that way they won’t absorb so much oil. Then fry them as usual. I personally guarantee that they will blow your mind away because of the light smell of the pine aroma that they will have. This is done in the villages that’s why French fries there are awesome. Not precooked nothing. Even the worst potatoes with a little bit of salt will be heavenly.
@@athenswives you definitely should. Even if you don’t use pine wood but other like olive wood or even other types you will feel an interesting earthy taste in them.
I have 2 suggestions for you. As far as the weather is still OK, go to Nea Smirni. Go to Alsos and at Plateia (square). The second suggestion, go to battleship Averov. It's a battleship - museum. You will love it!
Girls your videos are amazing. Thanks for keeping us company. Might sound irrelevant, but I wanted to share the way we fry potatoes in my family. We salt them before frying them and they hold all the salty flavor so well. Try it out if you want. Thanks again for the great videos and the love for Greece. I really love Scandinavia and I want to travel there.

I have tried it myself and it was a failure, as for the SOS there is a recipe on google that explains how to make it. But nothing like the real gyros, it's hard to copy it. Congrats for the try! 👌
Christmas house decor... good food near the fireplace...good friend for company.😃 If only was snowing outside...😔 Nice work girls. 'Cozy'😅 Wish you the best for your christmas holidays back in your countries and when you reach there, make a moussaka with your hands and share it to your loved ones.😙 A gift from Greece for them...😉
in greek meat stores indeed you find the best pita , the cow looks good so does the cat now as for the frying , for the amount of potatoes shown here you need 1/5th the amount of oil if you are an overspender , you can fry them perfectly with the 1/10th of the oil used , there are a few mistakes in the proscess of double frying , 1st you need the initial frying to be some degrees lower than the second , mid high on start high to very high on the second , you should avoid dipping the tray / shifter as it lowers the temperature of the oil , trust me the effect is huge , after the initial fry you need to lower the temperature of the fried potatoes , leaving them above the oil defeats the reason . To sum it up you fry on low fire LET chill a bit and finish on very high temp btw salting the fries 10-20 mins before frying makes them crunchier with only one fry while the double fry actually makes them hard rather crunchy like chips you can
Thank you so much for your tips about the fries!😃 We will definitely try them next time😍 and the place Karambelas sounds very interesting! We have to visit that place!💙🇬🇷
Girls, what's the problem with the sound? When you are talking, I hear mono, not stereo. When there's music, I hear stereo. This problem happens at every video.
Γειά σου Σταύρο😊 Thank you for your feedback🌺 We checked the audio now in our videos and it is stereo also when we talk. Please let us know more exactly what you mean😊 We appreciate it💙
Ahhh, my beloved Scandinavian gals again!!! So, below are my remarks as... jury for this latest project of urs: - French fries are simply called (99% of the time) "τηγανιτες πατάτες" here in GR. Not "πατατακια", a term we use for "Tsakiris" or "Lays". Btw i was about to comment that the heat on that olive oil looked a bit low, but the end result seems excellent (optically at least) - Its very rare to make beef souvlakia in GR. Mostly because they are a bit tricky to prepare and VERY expensive as you also showed on the video (14 euros per kilo!!!). But when prepared properly they are indeed delish!! I guess that was the case here too, so congrats!! - Plz stop mentioning "gyros", you made "pita me souvlaki(a)", completely unrelated! - Try to oil a - just a little tiny - bit ur pitas next time. Thank me later in your next video! 😁😁😁😁 - Putting Mayo in that delicious pita is an unforgiven... helgerån. Don't u ever do that again!! 😄😄😄😄 So, for the whole performance and output: NOR-SWE: 10 points (there is some room for improvement) 😄😄😄😄
Thank you so much!😅🥰 We will definitely try to put some oil on the pita next time🤩 Thank you for your tips💙 and yes, we will stop calling it gyros when it is pita with souvlaki😂🤗
Why so much olive oil? You need very small amount of olive oil in a short pot to cook your potatoes, if you are going to fry them use sunflower oil. Please respect the olive oil.
gonna be a bit honest or very honest, I lived in Greece, finding work there is not easy, you guys been living there for how long, why should anyone trust emailing any of you, making it out like it so easy to find work, the wages are very low, pentiotions for retired is not great, many people who i know who are greek all had to leave for better work over seas.. this is the problem with vloggers everything seem all rosey, oh look so easy to live in Greece, email two random people about work. the best place is the American embassy. to work in banks, clothing shops, resturanrts, cafes, all need to speak greek, hotels, agency's.
