This song rips me up every time I hear it. Especially this performance. It's loose but yet tight at the same time, if that makes sense. I think Anton runs the ship to be as such and has such a great line-up. I get my first chance to see BJM perform in about 3 weeks and I am pretty damn happy about it. Plus, the new album blows me away.
I think the best thing that happened to Anton was to move to Europe & start fresh & he did. He got away from the kitsch bullshit drugs, bitch slapping with Courtney from The Warhol's, which was epic but for a talented guy like Anton & his music, I think it was a fresh start. I known the Warhol's, like & respect their musical style, but Anton is a genius & he was way ahead of the bell curve back in the 90's.. Cheers to this cool track!!!
There is so much energy in that song at this particular time, its simply amazing. The triangle Bass-Drum-Upstroke guitar is essential in Nevertheless and works best with Colin, Dan & Frankie. Anton looks high as a kite:-).
Not only that, but he is also able to produce a different vocal sound from song to song as well. That makes the BJM sound something that is continually fresh and interesting to me. I'm rather obsessed with this song and the performance itself (obviously). It has everything something fantastic should have.

I was there (BJM + Art Brut at la Cigale, Paris), probably the best live performance I've ever attended. (by the way Anton was waaaaaaasted)
