Ken is the epitome of the perfect metal drummer and band mate. Not only in his rock solid playing, but personality wise; not cocky, fun to be around and great sense of humor. Ken lets his drumming do the talking for him and off stage he’s one of the realest, cool dudes you’ll ever meet. Absolute gem!
His swivels are soo fucking good 🤘🔥 he has easily become one of my favourite drummers this song is one of the best if not the best track of the new album
Im glad i found a playthough - when the singles came out i wanted to be sure i was as inadequate of a drummer as i felt at the time. Watching this today hammered that home.
I meannnn, but RIGHT THOUGH? I'm a 35yr old guitar player, started playing in 2003. And w/ one notable exception, I always wrote ALL the material, like as in for each position..both guitars, and the drums, and then the vocal cadence (I never wrote the lyrics though, as I feel that's a pretty personal thing, since they'll be singing it every practice and gig. I left that to whomever our vocalist was. And the bassist who was in all my bands with me but ONE, was so amazing he'd just hear me play the song a few times and BAMMM...next practice he's written the perfect bass lines for the song....a bit unreal, honestly). I've only just now reached a point where in my production/engineering skills (like at home), that I want to at least try the, "One Man Band" thing, where I'll write, and then play/record, every instrument. Seeing as how I somehow, quite obliviously, wrote the entirety of all my collective previous band's songs. Now, all that wall of txt being said...how in the ACTUAL FUCK am I supposed to replicate something like this?!?! I mean shit, even to PROGRAM something like this?! Bedene is like.. literally capable of more than even a fine-tuned machine could ever HOPE to be made to achieve. Goddamnit...I fucking love Aborted. SO much. But...fuck...Ken just makes me wanna stop even trying to write metal songs anymore. And I mean that in the most POSITIVE way I could lol
This guy plays a Blast Beat at ten thousand bpm and his face while playing it is like "Yeah, I mean, it's supposed to be hard, no big deal". You are a Beast Ken 😈
The calmest looking drummer in the field out there. Give that nerd a keyboard and a mouse and he will slaughter everybody in Diablo IV in 66.6 seconds!
Jeeeeesus. 😵💫 Crazy that I used to watch this dude play local shows at a pizza place in what I believe was his first band? lol Shout out Blood of Cain!! Dude's gone God-mode. That double bass technique is thing of beauty
I remember back in 2000, I went into a CD store and seen Goremageddon, im like that's a cool front cover, then when I played the album at home, I was blown away!! been obsessed with this band ever since! ❤
2:22 wow! As a professional drummer (nowhere near these guys) I spent the last few days getting into this extreme metal scene and checking out a few of those drummers. I see a lot of impressive stuff, but after 30 minutes you get the feeling you have seen everything there is to see. So thoses 8 seconds at 2:22 stand out to me. It's the first bit I heard since I started were actually something grooves. Very nice. Leaving those imperfections in is very nice as well. To me, hearing the struggle makes it more intense. But I guess I'm a minority with this. Snaresound way ahead of the pack as well.
i love the fact that the bass drum isnt fake. you can hear that its not perfect, and in this speed it wont ever be perfect. i prefer this than the fake ones. loved it :D
@@corrupted_realm 90% of deathcore drum playthroughs. You can notice it, if the drummer goes really fast and its just... too accurate. Its just impossible for humans to be this accurate. No, its not about the triggers, i love triggers, they just edited it, to make it better. There is no problem with it, if they change it just a little bit, like Fleshgod Apocalypse's drummer, Eugene. He changes it a little bit, to make sure its perfect, but he is still an amazing drummer live.
One of the best death metal drummers out there! And one, who can "actually" play the double bass parts, and doesn't do that weird double stroke stuff. Also that snare sound is amazing. Such a nice and chill guy ❤️
@@corrupted_realm I find doubles on kicks in fast metal stuff always as a bit of trickery. Yeah "theoretically" there are two hits, but the second one if often bearly noticeable and without a trigger almost complete silent. Put someone like Ken and someone who playes doubles behind an acoustic kit without triggers. Sure, Ken also uses triggers. But in an acoustic setting you would still be able to hear every hit with Ken or someone who plays singles. You would probably not be able to hear that with doubles.
I don't like how prevelant double strokes have become in the genre because they can ruin a live set if the drummer's having just a slightly "off" night. I've noticed the guys who do 250bpm+ tend to get sloppy at some of their shows. Even Dave McGraw has a live video or two of some sketchy playing.
@@Unknownusername1004 I get what you're saying, but who isn't fully reliant on triggers at those speeds? The volume isn't the issue at that point. It's more about monitoring false-triggering. Are you even actually using the drums by then?
Whenever I feel like I'm a failure at anything I watch a Ken Bedene playthrough to prove that point even more.
LMAO
Fucking right? I just got back from what I thought was a really good practice...nevermind..I have alot of work to do. Haha
All of us brother
The guy is INSANE ! I’m not even into this style but damn, I love the drums
As a drummer i feel this lol.
Ken is one of the cleanest drummers out there. His technique is flawless and he NEVER looks exhausted while playing - absolute Legend
He is a very complete drummer
Maybe because he's not really playing? (Triggers are one Hell of a drug).
@@Vor_Tex_SunHe is actually totally incomplete. 🤣
That punchy snare is just🤤

That’s how a snare at a fkn metal show should sound man, great performance
Agreed....it sounds good 👍🏻
More ken playthrough please 🙏
Dude just sits there, blasting the life out of the drums. He looks so relaxed whilst he does all this amazing stuff!
Kens playing is so technical and consistent yet executes everything so effortlessly and flawlessly.

Man. I’m not a fan of this music period. But the skill is immense. It’s incredible what someone can accomplish.

His doubles are mesmerizing
Dude is ridiculous, absolute monster. Like everyone else says more Ken playthroughs please
That snare sound and the blast beats are sick
I don't know how these guys are going to top Vault of Horrors. By far, one of the best albums relesed this year.

Ken's playing scares me. This guy just set the bar so high. Guess I'll just have to try to climb that ladder one step at a time.

Ken is king!
Ken is truly a treat to watch behind the kit
Truly inspirational. The epitome of relaxation & control.
Cymbal Setup sounding good! playing off the charts as always ...

@Lupine. Dude 280 singles are gonna be quiet as fuck too playing 140 16ths with one foot is not gonna give you a ton of beater swing either
