👏👏 Was not expecting park stuff from you too Deb! Thanks so much, especially for the tips on dealing with social anxiety when new at the park, it isn't talked about often enough and I suspect a lot more people suffer from it than we realise 🥰
I have been so freaked out to try this. I love that you give us permission to go slow instead of just going for it. I really need to understand the mechanics first and you teach them most excellently. Thank you for this video, Deborah!🥰🥰
As always Deb brings us solid gold info👍 I love how you always mention posture and engaging your snack area. I've met so many skaters, most which have been skating for several years, that don't even realize how important that is. As someone with a strong dance background it makes total sense to me. You absolutely cannot do a pirouette without good posture and an engaged core. There were multiple beginner dance skate moves I was trying to learn and was struggling then once I pulled my snack area in nice and tight that completely changed the move. ILY Deb and thanks again for all your wonderful content!
The way that you described it honestly is like what you do when you’re in a swing lol bring your feet up and then push them down to get more momentum. Thanks for your vids as always Deb 💜💜💜

You're such a great teacher Dirty! I am new to skating and I love your videos because you know exactly what to say for that "AHA!" moment. I've noticed that although there are a lot of skate tutorials, I understand you best because you are explaining and showing the moves in a way that is super easy to understand. I need things explained to me in all different directions lol thank you! And haha "eating a lot of snacks". Seriously crack me up!
Hi, Debbie - I haven't skated in decades, since my right knee was badly injured in a cycling accident in the early 2000s, with bone-on-bone arthritis thrown in for good measure. But my 67-year-old body sorely misses it, and when I stumbled upon your videos months ago, I clicked on one and got instantly hooked on your channel. Can't. Stop. Watching. Even if I never put on a pair of roller skates or Roller Blades again, I still love watching your videos, your artistry and mastery of skating, and your bubbling enthusiasm. Please keep 'em coming, and kudos to you for sharing all this great information for a whole new generation of skaters and skater wannabes! ~Karen :)
Oh I am so happy for you. I do hope you get to get rolling again. I used to cycle too. I miss feeling like I absolutely OWNED the streets. I spent a year of my life with only a bike and no car.

Question: I’ve started backwards skating using your videos and I can get moving (pigeon toed salsa) but I’m having trouble going smoothly. Same trouble with scissoring backwards, I can do it but only one at a time and not connected. Any tips for this? Or possibly a video about how to skate backwards smoothly and connected? Thanks you’re the best!!
Also other question: I’ve been working on transitions, and turning around makes me stop completely instead of continuing to roll backwards. Tips for this as well? Once again you are by far the best teacher on RUclips, thanks for the efforts you put into your vids it really shows!
That skateboard shot was so cool! And thanks for breaking this down into bite sized pieces. I tried skating a small half pipe yesterday and kept falling forward. I tried a ramp a couple of times and fell on my butt immediately both times - it was so discouraging because I've learned to skate forwards, backwards, inversions in a couple of months and it feels like everything is back to square one! The point about rink skating being side to side and park skating staggered is very important. Question - what type of wheel hardness do you recommend? Thanks Debbie!
