point of contention. You don't need the sword to proceed in Zelda. People have done swordless runs of the game using bombs.
And eventually getting the Bow.
My friend did that on his second play through right after the game came out.
Killer Instinct is a trap. Both B and C are wrong. There was A raptor but her name was Riptor.
There's no character named "Raptor" in Killer Instinct. His name is "Riptor".
Juan so confidently says he's got it then gets nothing until round 5 😂
Izzy, being that upset over Zelda, makes me happy. Go nerdom 🤘
Riptor is in Killer Instinct, not Raptor.
Raptor isn't a character in Killer Instinct, it's Riptor. Just an FYI lol
Yeah, somebody fucked up with the KI question, There was no character named Raptor. There WAS a raptor named RIPTOR!
most likely someone thought it was misspelled and "corrected" it
Plays Game Boy Tetris sounds, proceeds to show the NES boxart.
You have to retrieve the sword… from the wise man. So either answer works.
Killer Instinct..... arguably the best fighting game
Debatable. It's good but I don't think it is on the level of SF or Tekken. Hopefully we get a sequel though!
2XKO will be fun to see how that does as well.
@@jonteguy I don't know.. I definitely enjoyed Killer Instinct more than Tekken. Street Fighter had some great titles over the years though. If we're just comparing original Street Fighter vs. Killer Instinct then I'd go with Killer Instinct 100%, but if we're going off what was out at the time of release of the latest game, Killer Instinct, then I'd probably still side with Killer Instinct. Street Fighter 2 was a great game that was a lot of fun but I really loved the combo system in Killer Instinct!
Bloody Roar
@@logankerlee1988 C-C-C-C-C-C-C-COOOOOOOOMBOOOOO BREAKEEEEER!
King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and Garou Mark of the Wolves exist, KI was just fluff people played till MK 3 came out, and disappointed fighting game fans.
If you think about it in most Zelda games the big bad (usually Ganon) just sits around waiting for Link to show up & confront him. Link could procrastinate for months or YEARS and nothing would change in the world.
Majora Mask's Skull Kid is the only one with any agency. He commands the moon to crash into Termina and if you sit around doing nothing for 3 days EVERYONE DIES.
I don't believe that Ganon sat around for no apparent reason. There was always a motive Ganon had to begin with. As for Majora's Mask, that was probably the most traumatizing thing ever.
@@kyletamminen5890 That game was just an allegory for Links death and the stages of grief.
Izzy and her Zelda.... don't mess around with Zelda fans!
in the which character wasnt in the game question for Killer Instinct, you had Raptor as an answer, it's Riptor guys, you had one job!
He was thinking of Ice Powers when he made up the Name "Frostbite" ? - I thought he just re-named "Glacius"...
Same. I was like "... Did they mean Riptor and Glacius? Because there's no Raptor OR Frostbite...."
There are two different games titled "Super Punch Out". There is the well-known SNES game from 1994, but Super Punch Out is also the title of a 1984 arcade game, which beats out Battletoads (1991).
Joe needs to go back. It's Riptor, not Raptor.
Raptor also wasn't a KI character her name was Riptor.
*her, lol
@renslo689 Thanks, I always forget that. I'm more of a Cinder main so I miss the details on others.
The Killer Instinct question, it's Riptor, not Raptor.
Yup. Good call. I didn't notice that. We need a recount. And I would have loved to have heard him say that he replaced Glacier with the name Frostbite as a fun fact after the round was over.
It's Glacius
I feel like no one has more fun in these videos than Juan. His grin makes him look like he's thinking, "This is my job?? Awesome!"
I grew up playing “Mickey Mousecapade” and the closest thing to Maleficent that I remember is a witch boss fight at the end of the Fun House stage, but I don’t know if that’s supposed to be her or not? I can testify that Donald Duck is nowhere to be found in that video game, though.
Dang it, Erin should've been in this one. She seems to have knowledge of the old stuff, from what I can remember.
Izzy going full nerd analysis in this one. Love it!
Shout out to Joe. I loved Killer Instinct.
SAME
im glad goof troop was mentioned, its one of my favourite retro games
How you gonna disrespect my Dino Queen Riptor like that?
Battletoads was the only one available on NES. Edit..... And I don't think theyve heard what dial up internet sounded like, if they think it sounds anything remotely close to pong
Love all these reactors, thouroughly enjoyed this episode🎉
The Legend Of Zelda question is complete wrong.
Technically you found first the wise man before the sword.
1:08 . Oh my back 😂 . She's still so fun.
1:10 the Oh my back, got me, ngl
It is Ms. Pacman not Mrs. Pacman
Shouldn't she be Pacwoman?
Metal Storm is one of my favorite NES titles!
Izzy is a complete bombshell with the darker hair!!!! Thought I saw her on a Pepper commercial
Man I’ve always loved the water level music in DK Country!!
It's definitely a timeless classic!
I actually knew more than I thought .
Someone goofed, it's riptor not raptor so on technicality should have been a 2 point answer
fun to go down memory lane! also yesssss Julian with the Mclaren hat!!!!
The battle is battling 🔥🔥
Super Punch-Out originally came out in the arcade in 1984, which makes it older than Battletoads.
no it didnt super punch out was the sequel to punch out on the nes and it came out in 1994
@@PREENHOUR Nope. Punch-Out and Super Punch-Out both were originally arcade games. They later were ported to the NES and SNES, respectively.
Their video game related episodes always been done poorly due to not making actual research.
Only got the first score board question this time haha
I love it when boys vs girls 😄😄
Giggity!
whats the most retro?
I dont think they know what the word retro means...
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!
ULLLTTRAA COMBO
Technically, the first thing you have to do in TLOZ is "enter the cave" or "go to the next screen" as it was multiple choice start. Old man would be after, then sword.
That was a terrible question for so many reasons.
The producers messed up. There was no Raptor in Killer Instinct.
The character's name was Riptor, but still, a raptor WAS in K.I.
Yeah there was. 😅
Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Her name is riptor
Yeah there was
@@scruffnananessful but their name wasn’t raptor
big fan of retro games from the 90s
Love the “ooooop” before ice climbers hahaha
ToeJam: "We jammin'!" Earl: "Yeah, jammin'!" That game is ONLY better played with two players. It is HARD to do it with one. I know. I tried.
I know this is pedantic, but Super-Punch Out, the arcade game came out in 1984. Battletoads came out in 1991.
Super Punch-Out for the SNES came out in 94, which I'm sure is what they meant, but still.
Not pedantic at all, it's a fact. Those two titles have the exact same spelling right down to the double exclamation marks. This trivia was not curated well.
Toe Jam and Earl!
- mango
Great video. shout out to ice climber..that game make me cry when its so hard to catch that bird leg. 😂 The Nostalgia, man.. Dayum~
I’ve seen all from 1980-Now I have every NTSC-U and NTSC-J console as well as tons of games my favorite consoles are NES PC Engine/Turbo Grafx Neo Geo SNES Saturn PS1 Dreamcast PS2 Xbox 360 PS4 and Switch
@8:25 aquatic ambience is the track for snes...
Omg i used to play earthwarm jim, frogger, the classic video games. Brings back memories. I wish we had Jump Start grade games for our students but we dont
KILLER INSTINCT MENTIONED
Karma for Juan and getting carried.
i love this video 🔥🔥🔥🔥....
And Mr/Ms Pac Man, Tetris are my all time favorite retro games 🎮
i love Kami want to see her more
Glad to see Dr. Mario getting some love. Would be fun to see them play it sometime!
The AI art section was dumb
It did change things up for those that grew up in that era. However, I would've liked to not have that again
The Killer Instinct question is all kinds of incompetent. There is literally nobody called Raptor in the game. They were most likely referring to Riptor, but the fact they didn't spell it right is ridiculous.
Raptor was never in Killer Instinct it was Riptor, jesus once again React getting stuff wrong
I came to say exactly this.
Exactly what I was going to say. 2 of those names aren't in KI
Yep they never do their proper research. It’s constant.
Super Mario 64 My Favourite Game
You guys lose points for writing "Ms. Pac-Man" as "Mrs. Pac Man" 😇
Calling Riptor 'Raptor' made me sad
You can never go wrong with the retro game classics
That is an evil punishment. Evil. :D
The problem for the first question was that here in the US all those games came out the same year. We would not have been privy to the release dates in Japan.
To be fair to the trivia, Zelda still came out before Metroid did in the US as well even though it was very close as you said. I'd agree it at least warrants a mention! There were plenty of other more concrete problems with the trivia too. Punch-Out!! is a much older franchise than Battletoads and Super Punch-Out!! was the second arcade game title long before Battletoads on the NES or Super Punch-Out!! on the SNES existed. Raptor is not a character in Killer Instinct and is an obvious misspelling of Riptor.
Most egregiously, there is no "first task you have to complete" in The Legend of Zelda. It is famously the granddaddy of all open-world games. The only mandatory task given on the opening screen crawl is to retrieve the Triforce of Wisdom pieces to save Zelda. Otherwise, you can do things in practically any order. Hell you can even skip the first sword cave altogether, collect all the Triforce pieces, and get all the way to Ganon himself without having any sword at all. Pretty bad curating!
And also that there in the US your using the word retro instead of vintage.
@@Tiriris Personally I think they should have used the word "Older" or "Oldest"... the most retro or the most vintage really shouldn't be used in that way.
@@meomauiMetroid came out one week before Zelda in North America .
@@troymckinnon8996 Wow no kidding! I knew they were the same year so I referenced the Wikipedia page with all game release dates by region and it incorrectly lists Zelda NA as July '87 instead of August. Someone dropped the ball there!
10:00 Yes, Benny, they all have leaderboards. The question is which was the first to feature it. Reading is fundamental
Why do they make the questions so vague and difficult to figure out.
There were two Super Punch-Out!! games, one for the SNES and one for the arcade
Raptor? 🤦
Some of the rounds were easier than others. I love retro video games, they are still fun to play.
i think i missed like 4 of these....but i sell games retail for a living and also collect
You need to ask some older gamers can't believe no one is getting these easy questions.
Super high impact, Sega
Amiga 500/600 game called Moonstone
The first thing in legend of zelda you do is put your name in
What stupidly worded questions. Wtf does “most retro” event mean? Because it has nothing to do with a game’s release date, which appears to be what they actually were asking.
Exactly. Take question two, if you will; they never specified *which* version of Super Punch-Out. The SNES version released in 1994... *ten years* after the arcade version (and well before Battletoads was in concept, let alone full release!)
Damn, I remember coming home from school and going to a friend's house to play goof troop. Good times.
Atari & Activision, ah memories. Fav of the time, Enduro and Yars' Revenge
Miss Pac Man & Centipede .😁
little confused as raptor is not a character in killer instinct at all, Riptor is the name of the character.
We need more fun facts! I like that you started incorporating them later, but maybe tell us why for example The Legend of Zelda in #1 came before the other two even though it was the only one with the SRAM battery inside the cart? And that #2 was an NES game that came before the other two Super Nintendo games? And that the games in #3 were in arcades first? Maybe you expect your audience to already know these things, but it might also be fun hearing them anyway.
Cool video! But would've enjoyed more if they included clips of the games they were discussing in that 1st round. Usually they do with these type of videos. Not sure why not on this one. If it was a new choice to see how it would go, please go back to showing the reactors and us a clip of the game
You getting flamed in the comments 😂
I crushed this. But with me being a kid during the days of what is now considered "retro" gaming, it comes as no surprise.
Man I feel you... like who gets the mike tyson's punch out wrong...
@aedusxerxes7702 Someone who has never played Punch-Out thats who... Everybody has not played every game in existence.
@@burgermike92I think you needed a ladder for that one. Going off of @TheOutcastJacobWolf comment of growing up in the era, i also grew up in the era and it's a given for that age realm. If you grew up when the NES was everywhere, you either had that game or someone you knew had it. Assuming you're a 92 baby, I can see how you missed that era.
@aedusxerxes7702 Don't get how you think what I said was a reach. Most of the reactors are not from that era and most of them are also casual gamers or they come across that way. You're right. I was born in '92 but I also got the question right. Not because l've played the game before but because my knowledge of video games is pretty vast and I've been playing games since I was a kid. I know who Glass Joe is and the others I had heard in passing so for me it was an easy question but not for the same reason it was for you.
I see Izzy I watch vizzy
I want to know, what defines a "Retro game" now. Is it 90s and below, 1989 and below? Or..
That's a good question. The bar has moved and many people consider games up to the mid 2000s to be "retro" now too. Depends on who you talk to I guess...
In this video it's anything before 3D.
I've never heard of Dig Dug.
You don't really have to get the sword in TLOZ....
I've never understood why it's always primarily consoles when people are talking about retro games (and almost always the same few games/franchises), there are so many amazing retro PC games, is this an American thing?
yeah most american only know nintendo games
@@gogonsrimulat6971 You couldn't be more wrong.
@mikkelx To answer your question. PC games rarely if ever get brought up because most of these reactors are casual gamers or have only played a select few games. I doubt most of them would know Maniac Mansion, SoMI, Myst, the original Warcraft, System Shock, Age of Empires, etc because most of these are too niche for this audience. I do agree though. More variety would be welcome. Hope this helps.
@@burgermike92 like you said "most of them" not all american
@gogonsrimulat6971 Them being American has nothing to do with them not knowing those games. Most of the games I mentioned are American made anyway so you make no sense.
Toejam & earl is my favourite retro game and imo the best, me and the wife play it today.
Guess who got a perfect scooore! Meee. ALSO the Killer Instinct Character's name is RIPTOR...
The most retro is a REALLY stupid way to say "Which came out first?"
Yes, especially because retro does not mean old to begin with.
I reactors who guessed Super Punch-Out! game is technically correct. Because there was Punch-Out the arcade and the sequel was Super Punch-Out! arcade in 1984😉 They should have specified if they were talking consoles or arcades
yep the should indeed have specified it....
Please have them react to BINI!
What do you mean "most retro" ???? you mean the oldest or wich one came out first?? "most retro" is so strange way to say that... It could mean so many things..
I get 9 but I know more than Brandell.
