I think I've mostly figured it out, Z, X, and C are the basic attacks, Z being the weakest, C being the strongest, basic combos being Z and X at the same time and X and C at the same time, by pressing all 3 at the same time when that little red meter is full allows you to enter the Meta World where the combo attacks are much stronger. D switches characters, Shift taunts, and esc exits the game, block is direction away from the opponent and C.
