Kitty Miller Bay to Pyramid Rock Walk, Phillip Island - January 2025

- On paper this walk from Kitty Miller Bay to Pyramid Rock looks pretty straight forward, in reality there is a little bit to it! The section of coastline from Kitty Miller Bay to Berrys Beach has only a few informal pads and the traverse around Helens Head is particularly sketchy and should only be attempted at dead low tide and by confident and experienced rock scramblers... if anyone is doubtful about completing the Helens Head section along the rocks then the alternative is to climb over the top of the headland on some informal pads next to the fence line that borders the farmland. The Berrys Beach to Pyramid Rock section is super easy and should be within almost everybody's capabilities.

Oh I do love Sooty Oystercatchers ... this looked like a fun day out. Stunning area.
This is a very nice (but tough) little walk… there are some amazing rock pools along here👍😉
Upsetting the Sooty Oysterchatcher.. You must have tough feet.. i walked in those i would have a few blisters for a few days. Thanks again for the great walk.
Yes, I must of been near their nest I reckon (I thought they nested in the dunes though🤷♂️)… no blisters but a bit of raw skin from the sand😉
❤ no road access no people on the beach - just live beaches like that
Yes, it’s a little unusual to have ‘remote’ feeling beaches on Phillip Island I think.👍
@ I used to live in Sth Warrnambool and the back beach was “mine” great walk and could walk to Port Fairy if I so wished (if fitness would allow it 🤣)
👍👍
@ I’ve walked that section of coast a few times… always thought of going all the way down to Port Fairy…I might have to give it a go if you think it’s doable 😉👍
@ I probably walked 2/3 of it one day, I was going ok but the dog was starting to get tired so we had a drink, a rest and a snack and turned around, tides won’t be an issue but a big swell will have you thinking in a couple of spots at the Wbool end.
@ thanks for the intel👍
