- The Autonomous Community of Catalonia or the Catalan region is located in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula. www.spain-holiday.com/Catalonia
It is composed of four provinces: Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida and Girona.
There is much diversity of scenery and terrain; the provinces are fertile, watered by rivers and have long coastal zones with the exception of Lleida, which is landlocked. The three coastline provinces of Barcelona, Tarragona and Girona, offer a wide selection of hotels and good beaches.
Catalonia is something more than beaches. We have Sky stations in the Pyrenees, endless forests in the interior, heartbreakings natural parks, and a lot of històric places

My significant other & I are planning a weeks holiday to Catalonia for next year, from everything I've seen it looks absolutely beautiful, we're hoping to hire a car so we can see as much of it as we possibly can. My brother has visited the city of Barcelona about 3 or 4 times & raves about it so we'll definately do some time sightseeing there.
