Thanks!. Depending on your age, we advocate for having a home base if you're over 50. Or at least having a plan for if you decide to stop traveling. Best of luck to you!😊
@@RoamingWithRosie I can see how beneficial that can be, it absolutely makes sense. I'm 25, and I'm going to be on the road, while my partner stays at home, joining me occasionally when I'm nearby! We were pt before we decided to put house on the market. In the end we opted to stay home sweet home, keep the rig and continue to explore our stunning state.
Totally understand. Having a house takes a lot of stress off this lifestyle for us. For others, it creates stress. It's important to know there is no cookie cutter approach to RV life.
We are retiring end of 22 and have reservations for wintering in Florida for 23. We have decided to keep our current home in NC as a base. We know folk that have sold and full time and are happy and know some folk the other way around. We currently use Wal Marts and Cracker Barrel's for overnight stays but you have to check and look at the parking using Google Maps. We actually had to stay one night at a truck stop. Doable if you can find one with back to back parking spaces and then pull through one that is available using the front space. Thanks for the videos. I appreciate them.
Congrats on your retirement! Kudos for finding an approach with a good safety net. We've been using the RV Parky app for also finding Walmart, Cabellas, and more. The app is a little buggy, but mostly accurate. Thanks for the suggestion to "see" the layout of the parking lot.
Ya'll are doing a great job. 👍 We feel exactly the same about Harvest Host. We bought a 3 yr Passport America membership but didn't use it at all because of too many restrictions. We've found that the rates get lower the closer you get to the MX border. We will be returning to winter over at a little RV park in Los Indios, TX (near Brownsville) this year, called Angler's Nest. Not only are the rates super-good, (between $200/mo. and $170/mo. depending on how long you stay) but the people are very nice there - giving you a real sense of community. If that's not cheap enough for you, there's a place you can stay in TX for as long as you want, for free. It's the Falcon County Park. They have free water hookups, free hot showers, free dump station use and trash disposal. Unfortunately, there's no electricity there, other than a pavilion where you can charge your phone, electric bike, etc., so you will need solar or a generator. It's like boondocking with amenities. We use the $50 a month unlimited WiFi plan, now from T-Mobile. Last month it was on Sprint and much faster, but this month they sent us a new Franklin hotspot which sucks, as it has no antenna ports which was the salvation of our old Inseego MiFi 8000. We only get about 30Mbps with the Franklin, where we used to get up to 120Mbps. Also, we started to experience throttling at busy times, where we did not experience this before. So sad. We are currently looking for other reasonably priced unlimited plans (as we typically use between 300-500Gb/mo.) that won't slow you down to a crawn on busy towers. We need at least 4Mbps to stream Netflix and video and a way to use an antenna for when we are boondocking far away from civilization. If the provider can't guarantee that, we don't want it.
We still will keep the HH. Because they've merged with Boondocker's Welcome and we signed up for that. And we've continued to be able to go day by day without planning too far ahead in TX. But we know when we head east, we'll have to have reservations. TX has been a great place to explore on the cheap, as long as we avoid so many restaurants with great food. LOL.
@@RoamingWithRosie Don't go to Louisiana then (our domicile state). The Cajun and Creole food there is off the hook, especially in New Orleans. Ayeeeee!
Hopefully you are all happy as the journey just began. Down the road it will be interesting to see how today's RVing challenges compare to traditional home living. I could imagine the bottom falling out of Full Time RVing fairly quickly.
Great Video! New Subscriber here! We have an older RV as well even older than yours. A 2000 Newmar. We love it as it is a 33ft gaser. We use it in the summer to ravel around to music festivals and for camping. We have no plans on going fulltime even though we are retired although because we live in Canada going to Florida for the winters is an option we love to do. Any way good luck and enjoy your adventure!
A lot of people in our age bracket are rightfully concerned about giving up a permanent home. We don't want to deal with an RV toilet when we're 89. 🤣 LOL. And can't depend on having enough savings to purchase a home with cash later in life either.
I dumped Verizon years ago. Had the insurance plan for the phone. When the phone fried, Verizon responded with “we don’t have that phone anymore so we will replace it with the entry level flip phone” What did I pay all that money for just to get the free flip phone. Dropped them and went to Sprint.
The problem is it seems like ATT and Verizon have the best coverage and they know it. Unfortunately I have to have a solid connection for my business. Thanks for watching!
Hello, I am a first time watcher and I just subscribed. My wife and I do not fulltime, but we shared your same concerns. We bought a 2006 42' Monaco Dynasty three years ago and we really love it. This past year we could have actually sold ours for a profit, but we are still enjoying it. Home for us is South West Florida. I couldn't envision spending the winter anywhere else. I would like to visit Arizona though. We haven't been there yet.
Welcome! We love Florida so much. Almost moving there 6 years ago is what gave us the idea to live the RV Life. A family member has had to evacuate almost annually in recent times due to storms. House on wheels seemed like a good idea.
@@RoamingWithRosie Every year it seems we have to evacuate at least once. We just load the RV and head north to Tennessee. You know the old saying, any excuse to get away. Lol!!! I hope you are really enjoying fulltimeing. 🙂

I agree with your comments on Harvest Host, I am curious how Thousand Trail works finding camp sites with so many rv out there now. Would you consider Thousand Trails a good option ?
We decided to hold off for 6 mo or so on 1000 Trails. Our concern is being able to get a space. Some membership levels allow reservations 180 days out. Our style up til now has been to not make commitments too far in advance. After 6 mo we'll see how much we spent on park stays and then decide.

Great video. Was wondering what you think about the older RV. I've heard that older than 10 years and it's hard to get into a RV park or campsite. Is that true? I know you are new at it, but was wondering what has been your experience so far.
Good question. 🤗 We're only new to RV Living, Not RVing. We havent had any issue with Original Rosie or Rosie Too. Because if we look for an RV Park & see a policy that they have the right to refuse an RV over 10 years, then our rule is to not give them an opportunity for our business. How horrible that we could be on the road, think we have a place to stay, then get turned away. We understand why they do it, but 10 years is not very old for RVs. One place near Sedona had a hard rule about it. There's dozens of other parks there and plenty of boondocking land too. We drove by and they were full of very high end RVs. We wouldn't have enjoyed it anyway. But... we havent been east of Texas yet, so cant speak for the whole country.

Great question. We have done several episodes over the last year about all the thoughts and changes of mind that led to where we are today. Our biggest difference from a lot of others was to kerp a home, even if smaller or located elsewhere. As we are over 60, we didnt feel we would be able to get back into housing without steady employment. And didnt know if we would even like full time. Here's a link to our episode where we discussed some of this: ruclips.net/video/CQdMjkNPOGg/видео.html
I gave up on harvest hosts like you said they're too far off the beaten path I found out it's cheaper to stay at a Passport America and usually you have full hookups and 50 amp
Maybe if we were on a wine tour or something like that, we'd find it more purposeful. They're now partnered with Boondockers Welcome. We've heard that is a much better match for our style.
I'm not aware of any deal that expired or otherwise, but I've reached out to PA to ask. Their current deal that I know of is available without a code. It's for a Lifetime Membership. It expires on 4/10. Will let you know.
Sorry it took a couple days, but, Passport America gave me a great deal that I can pass on. When you use our link, you will automatically receive 6 BONUS MONTHS FREE! You have thru May 2022 to use it! So glad you asked. Thank you!
Condider also that If you keep the home, you can get a smaller rv and use the home as a base camp to switch out gear seasonally. Now that we kept a home, we really dont need this huge RV. 😉
We like the old coach - 1. because we don't have to add DEF (diesel exhaust fluid) being that we have an older diesel RV and 2. It enabled us to still keep a home and be able to travel most of the year. Congrats on your retirement and best wishes on your future RV plans. Thanks for watching!
Verizon has been a bad topic for me for 15 years. I don't like it. Period. Hubby won't change providers. Even though we are having trouble getting interest.

What kind of fuel mileage are you getting with your motorcoach?
It gets about 8-10mpg
@@RoamingWithRosie Thank you very much
Quartzite was cheap living but we would rather be down at Imperial Dam
Agreed. Quartzsite is awesome for meetups, but South of there is so much prettier.
@@RoamingWithRosie and easier to dump and get fresh water. Imperial Dam LTVA has 4 dumps and 8 water fills and only 20 miles from Walmart
Tried to find the referral code but I dont think you included it, can you provide it? I'd love to use it
Thanks for the support. Which referral code did we miss?
I'm sorry which referral code are you referring to?
@@RoamingWithRosie I wanted to buy passport america and use your referral but the deadline was the 4th.
Thank you!
I am about to retire and we are struggling with keeping the hime or not to get a newer coach….
Verizon kick them to the curb!
I would love to - But Verizon and ATT have the best coverage. I need to have the best signal I can get for running my business. Thanks for watching!
Verizon has been a bad topic for me for 15 years. I don't like it. Period. Hubby won't change providers. Even though we are having trouble getting interest.
Unfortunately Verizon and ATT have the best coverage and they know it! Thanks for watching!
@@RoamingWithRosie Sorry for the late response, Rosie. Just now seeing it.
