I'm Orthodox I just got back from burying my newborn daughter at a monastery. I'm exhausted after just a few days visiting monasteries. The monastic life is HARD and monks & nuns are incredible for the prayers and works that they offer on behalf of the world. It's so sad to see them so ruthlessly mocked

Some nuns do wear sandals. No Catholic nun wears shiny poliester as a habit, however, and most certainly they don't use random wooden beads as a belt.
The most obvious is the priest here... no actual priest would be wearing that in public outside of liturgy, especially not when just casually going about their day.

They undergo through rigorous theological studies including their mental fitness to become either "Priest" or "Nun".
But unfortunately, some break rules but such people are pulled out of his profession whether be it Priest or Nun.
