    Going over my recently dismantled Edgar Markov deck and made the pieces into Strefan! I don't love the idea of having the scariest commander at the table, it tends to make people want you dead first, so I went with something still strong yet a lot less hated. Hope you like this one and thanks for watching :)
    (Ps no its not better than markov)

    I love my Strefan deck. He does so much with Vampires without being overly oppresive like Edgar. He can absolutely go insane, but he doesn't make you the archenemy from turn 0.
    A few suggestions:
    I would suggest adding ping effects. Slowly draining your opponents over the course of the game while also maximizing Blood token production really improves the consistency. A few good ones are actually lands. Leechridden Swamp and Shivan Gorge are great utility lands for Strefan.
    Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief is an excellent Vampire to run. Cheat her out with Strefan and you can use her ability to kill a problematic blocker.
    And with how much lifegain Vampires have in general, a good Vampire to help cheat out your bigger Vamps is Marshland Bloodcaster. 1B and tapping to pay life instead of mana for a Vamp serves double duty. Freeing up mana and ensuring you get a Blood token off yourself.
    And while it is a bit of magical christmas land, but Chandra's Ignition targeting Olivia's Attendants can create a lot of Blood tokens.

    A note about markov enforcer is the synergy it has with strefan. If you play it off his ability it has indestructible for the rest of your turn, so you can fight as many things as you are able without worrying about it dying.

      @levisdeckbox  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes! Somebody pointed that out to me, I love this synergy

      Mephidross Vampire is great with the Enforcer too. Enforcer will be able to take out pretty much anything after a few fights
      Mephidross great with Olivia’s Attendants too to pump their power and blood output

    • @mortycremwatch
      @mortycremwatch 3 месяца назад

      Enforcer (with indestructible from Strefan) + Mephidross Vampire + Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet could be one sided board wipe.
      Kalitas makes a zombie token when Enforcer kills something. Zombie token is also a vampire because of Mephidross so it triggers Enforcer. Repeat

    Is Strefan better than Edgar? I think it's more of a case of them wanting different things. Edgar wants to go wide. He's not interested in a Butcher of Malakir, he wants little cheap guys like Shadow Alley Denizen.
    Strefan wants the big, splashy vampires like Patron of the Vein and Necropolis Regent, and that is something I find more appealing than going wide with a bunch of little guys who are only in the deck because they're cheap and have "Vampire" on the card.
    Don't think I'll be making this guy any time soon since I got the Clavileño precon as a gift and I've found it to be actually really fun.

      I agree, I’ve had an Edgar deck before because I love Vampires (Magic and otherwise) but didn’t jive too well with him, Strefan seems a lot more fun to me. Is that precon pretty good? Haven’t seen anyone play it, it seems interesting

    Cool deck!
    I just wanted to let you know that when an ability says "up to one target", you can choose to target nothing. This means you don't have to fight with your Markov Enforcer if you don't want to.

    hey! so menace doesn't mean you are doing double the damage it only means there are two creatures blocking it, so if you swing Olivia's attendant and she is blocked by a 1/1 and an 8/8 you would chose the order in which those creatures block you, so you could do one damage to the 1/1 and than 5 damage would carry over to the 8/8, or you could block the 8/8 first, all 6 damage would go to the 8/8 and nothing would carry over to the 1/1. Good deck build! I hope you continue to enjoy magic for years to come

    I recently built an Edgar Markov deck and an Olivia, Crimson Bride deck for my wife and I. Her Olivia deck uses Strefan as an "alternate" commander and he slaps so hard as commander.

    Hi, really appreciate the video! As a new player trying to build a strefan deck, explaining the combos really helps me visualize the game plan! But speaking of, I was looking through your decklist an noticed the Liquimetal torque. Someone else has mentioned adding this card to my deck but I don't see the value. What is the gameplan with this card?

    • @levisdeckbox
      @levisdeckbox  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks I’m glad you like it! Firstly Liquimetal Torque is a 2 mana rock which is great on its own however it’s exceptionally good in red decks since they are great at removing artifacts but not good at removing things like enchantments or even creatures to an extent. So if you turn a permanent into an artifact, suddenly your artifact removal turns into permanent removal allowing you to get rid of multiple permanent types. Hope this helps!

    • @michaelw2030
      @michaelw2030 10 месяцев назад

      @@levisdeckbox ohh so you're turning opponent's things into artifacts, not your own?? Seems devious, I like it!

    • @stefan_wsl3398
      @stefan_wsl3398 4 месяца назад

      @michaelw2030 You can also run quite allot of artifact synergy as the deck farms blood tokens so you sometimes use it on your own stuff for things like marionette master

    Attendants splits damage between the blocking creatures so you get 6 max on an attack

      Awesome! Thanks for the info :)

    • @robertpoffel373
      @robertpoffel373 8 месяцев назад +1

      More specifically your opponent has to name two blockers, you decide the order, you have to assign at least enough to the first blocker to kill it (or 6 if its toughness is 6 or greater) and then you can assign the rest of the damage to the second blocker. In other words if two 1/1 blockers you can still assign 6 damage.

    • @levisdeckbox
      @levisdeckbox  2 месяца назад

      I think strefan is more interesting personally. Clav is spitting out tokens so it’s a little more generic then getting to drop big vampires from your hand
