Hey Chris, not sure if you'll see this. But I am a handicapped person with spinal cord injury and in a permanent electric wheelchair. I've been at Disney World 15 or 20 times at many of the hotels. Just something to think about as far as the low beds … They are about 6 inches lower than the seat of my wheelchair. It is extremely difficult for me to get in or out of them. The higher beds like the ones at the grand Floridian are much better for more disabled people in my opinion for me to get out of those beds at the wilderness, Lodge, handicap rooms I have to use a sliding board and my wife and son have to slide me up at. It literally takes two of them, the other beds that are higher are more accessible to people with more permanent physical disabilities. I've been doing this for 30 years and the lower the bed the harder the transfer. Also, something else to think about is some of the handicap rooms bathrooms in some of the, all star resorts and pop century are so narrow that I can't get my chair close enough to take a shower. Disney does great on most things but as a handicap person I think they need to hire handicap people to help design some of the rooms when they remodel because there is definitely some changes that they could do to make them better for someone like me. Although now that they change to the DAS pass, I may not be able to go back anyway. Sad.
By the way, I love your videos. I've been watching you for years. Thanks and keep it up.

The first and only time I visited was to eat at Whispering Forks. We were at Caribbean Beach, it was pouring rain, and in walked one of my best friends out of NOWHERE - who then took us over to Wilderness to eat with him and his folks. It remains among my top 3 WDW moments. He recently passed from cancer, and so Wilderness is even more special to me now.
I’ve had some of my best moments on property during stormy weather… not only is it the safest place to be it is absolutely gorgeous! It was sunny when I read your comment and I missed half of it. that is so lovely and I’m so sorry for your loss. 🌸
Hi Chris, you do know that the water that is coming inside the lobby out to the pool which never reaches the pool water. it’s an illusion because if you look under the bridge before the pool the water from the lobby goes down and returns back the lobby and the water you think is coming from the lobby is actually coming from the pool and just recycling😊
I am loving this series! I’m more about the resorts than the parks even and stormy weather is weirdly my favorite time to be in the Bubble.

We stayed there with our then 11 and 14 year olds during Hurricane Charlie. Everyone at the hotel was amazing handling everything! The next day, except for branches everywhere, you would have never known there was a hurricane. A magical, beautiful hotel and except for the humidity, a wonderful time. It was the trip of a lifetime!
I just can't tell you how much I'm enjoying this series. Each day I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the next resort!

I stayed at Wilderness Lodge once, back in Spring of 1995. We had a room with a queen bed and twin sized bunk beds. That was the trip that I learned that I could not sleep on the top bunk, as I somehow rolled over the guard rail, hit the floor, and stayed asleep. My parents heard me hit the ground and freaked out a bit.
Back then, a few nights a week, they would bring birds and reptiles over from Discovery Island for Keeper talks. This was also before they stopped people from swimming in the lagoon, so when the pool got too full, we would just head on down to the beachfront and get in the water.
Whispering Canyon breakfast skillets were absolutely fantastic. It is still one of my favorite resort restaurants.

Hey Chris, so seeing Amanda and Miles show up made me tear up 🥹🥹 I could just feel through the screen the relief come over u and then the sense of being complete and having peace. P.S. - Just a thought, Chris u mentioned ur anxiety around the toilet and showing it on video for the flush test, what if u filmed it first thing when u get there that way housekeeping has the responsibility for how it looks, not u. Lol, just a thought ✌️💜✌️💜😍🥰

Hi Chris, just to let you know about SMOKEY THE BEAR!In 1950, the Forest Service brought a real bear cub named Smokey to life after he was rescued from a forest fire in New Mexico. The cub became a living symbol of the Smokey Bear campaign and went to live at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C.. Smokey received many gifts of honey and so many letters that he needed his own zip code. He died in 1976 at the age of 26 and was buried at the Smokey Bear Historical Park in Capitan, New Mexico, where he remains a legend for wildfire prevention. 😮. Here in New Mexico he's part of our heritage like our native blood.

So excited we getting to the final third Act and it started with some surprises. So therefor I am pretty happy for You Chris that we starting it with your Reunion with your Family Miles and Amanda and of course happy to see her like hopefully most will be she is always a nice addition to your sweet amazing videos and happy for you guys to share the last hurdles on this amazing Trip View Marathon through so many beautiful Resort Hotels.
But I have some questions like can you remember when you have stayed at the French Quarter in your Room you had a white wall kinda safe and I prefer the black regular safes like in Pop Century were you can lay your stuff horizontal in it. But with those kinda wall safes how much is possible to fit in there and it seems you have to put your stuff kinda vertical/diagonally or so how much stuff is possible to fit in that white safe box????
And for getting your luggage from one resort to another that they transfer it to the new Resort were you have to put it there just at the front desk check in check out or where have you brought your luggage that it was taken and brought to the next Resort???
Since I may will do at least 3 Resorts Stays at my final visit in 2029 just like in three times is a charm.
And can you showcase the Safe and Refill Station in the Animal Kingdom Lodge when you will be there since I am focusing on staying there at the end of my Trip my final 3 nights before departure in 2029 to have some Vacation feelings???
And hopefully telling us all about the great good Restaurants and how where to book the Special Things there like the nightvision on the Savanna and the Animals and how you can see the animals around the Resort and getting the chance for booking in Sanaa Restaurant (if that is the right one) to having a possible Window for the Animal Viewings there during your Meal???.
Also what is the difference between other Companies if 1 855 Getaway Today is also kinda a Travel Agency, how it can be that they would get better deals with Disney than just the other Agencies like mine Dreams Unlimited Travel I am using for my Trip or like WDWNT that using the Vacationeers or like Mickeys Blog with Mickeys Travel or what else Companies are out there how your supported Promotion getting better deals than those others how can and does that working????
Since those others usually only having access to the Disney Price and their discounts that they would release to getting better deals for their clients not that I would swift to your suggested ones since I am not sure if they would be even able to work with international guest like me just like I did unproblematically with my chosen Dreams Team even after their struggles with their sadly black sheep they get rid of.
Hope you can help me on those things but meanwhile enjoy some great time with your family as well doing the final 7 for us.

I am looking forward how beautiful those other could be but this Wilderness Lodge was pretty beautiful and you had an amazing view so much greenery trees it was ashtonishly gorgeous View even the Castle from distance. 😊🤗😮
The busses are mostly fine. The part most complain about is at the end of the park day when everyone in the park wants to take the bus at the same time and they are standing room only. We just wait on a bench until the line becomes reasonable. 3-4 busses about 30 mins. Grab a snack and a drink on your way out of the park and all will be happy.

This is the one resort I have not been in yet. I’ve taken the Segway tour that took us around the grounds a little but that doesn’t count. 😉 I’ve wanted to eat at Whispering Canyon for a long time but not sure about the antics. My family is more reserved. 😂 Hopefully, I’ll get to pop in on my next WDW stay at the end of the year.
Chris, you are doing an amazing job. I haven’t been able to watch all the videos but have been impressed with the ones I have watched. You're it does look like the Grand Californian especially at the outside. So see how the Wilderness was an inspiration for Grand Californian since it was established before. Nice that had the totcho bowl and Snickers again. Also seeing Amanda and Miles to be with you. Cool and interesting that the Cast Members there were following you on your Disney resorts adventure. The whole ketchup situation at that one restaurant was hilarious like if asking for ketchup Oh Boy! they sure let them have it. Also very nice history between Disney and Smokie the Bear. Looking forward to the next resort. Keep it up Chris you are amazing.

To me, the inside looks like the Yellowstone lodge. And it looks fantastic. I think this is my favorite of the hotels so far.
I believe that Fort Wilderness Lodge was designed after Yellowstone lodge, and the Grand Californian is designed after the lodge in Yosemite.
PLUSH!! That’s the only way to go. Gotta say, day 13 made my eyes water, the JOY of the arrival of Amanda and Miles, SO sweet! How exciting!!

It looks similar to Grand Californian because it was designed by the same architect: Peter Dominick…Unfortunately he passed away….
We stayed here on our 25th anniversary. Top notch! Complimentary chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room. Room was super. Electric water pageant cruised past while we watched from our balcony. Good memories!

A couple more things that happen: the lobby frequently has a caricature artist, various scene artist demonstrations where they answer questions while they paint, and the boat parade is visible from geyser point. Higher floors in the main building have information about the other layers of the Grand Canyon furnace, covered balconies over the pool, and quiet reading nooks with small fireplaces over the entrance.

An interesting tidbit that might be worth mentioning when you get to Animal Kingdom Lodge… Animal Kingdom Lodge, wilderness Lodge, and the grand Californian were all designed by the same architect, you can tell. 😀 and the 3 best Disney resorts, in my opinion… some DVC member who have contracts at all three of these resorts refers to it as “owning the trilogy”
Delayed sidenote - Boulder Ridge (pre Cooper Creek) is where I got ready for my wedding, once upon a time. Rode in a Model A Ford from the Wilderness to the Wedding Pavilion. ❤❤❤

Wilderness Lodge is my favorite. The steak sandwich at Geyser Point is amazing! It is worth mentioning that the boats can also take you to Ft. Wilderness and the Contemporary Hotel. The boats to the Magic Kingdom get you there much faster than the buses. Keep on trucking.
I love that you take time to show the transportation and everything. As a DL regular, navigating WDW feels overwhelming, but seeing it in your videos has eased my mind a lot and I'm even more excited for our trip next year! Thank you for showing it all in these videos!
