CharLa Hadyn i can understand, ludex was my first DS boss ever and i was so scared, i beat him on my first try but DAMN i only survived because i choose the HP ring
You know I feel so lucky because I had multiple friends who had already beaten DS3 so I had good help through the game. Now I'm doing NG+1 mostly solo to get the true Dark Souls experience.
As a completionist it hurts my OCD to see speedruns like this but I LOVE how you make it look so fluent. Great job, and I am so happy that you explained everything you do and why you do it
Geez that was amazing ! Anri's straight-up broken sword is pretty clutch for speed running , huh? Never used that before but I will now! Too bad I'm only barely average at souls games . This'd be impossible for me.
Thanks Phoenix! Anri's is defiintely pretty broken because it scales with luck, which also happens to scale bleed. Mix in the fact that almost all DS3 bosses can be bleed and it makes for a powerful tool!
Been following your videos for quite some time now. Definitely one of my favorite RUclipsrs. I clicked on this video simply for the background noise (considering how long it is) and I ended up watching the whole damn thing. Great video man. Keep up the great work!
ive been playing ds series for a while, but i got bored with the normal playthrough of the game so have been looking for a way to make ds3 more interesting/ fun to play again.. thanks so much for helping me with this man, your commentary is super helpful and really fun to watch!
I was fighting the Nameless King while watching this, and your soothing voice helped me stay calm and focused. I finally beat him after 10 tries. Thank you
i like how im watching a speed run walkthrough when it took me 3 weeks to kill pontiff and im totaling 100 hours and haven’t even reached twin princes yet lmao
I think I was lucky I did the Anri questline by accident and had an ember. I also summoned Gothard to top off the phantom count to beat pontiff first time. Edit: 55-60 hours in, first 3 lords and Dragonslayer armor down, fighting nameless.
Talking about hitting the Nameless King: Hit him with the one time! *YA!* Hit him with the 2 time! *YA! YA!* Hit him with the 3 time! *YA! YA! YA!* LET'S GO! *YAYAYAYAYAYA!*
Dude you are skilled! It took me like 60 hours-ish to finish Dark Souls 1 and I love how you killed Pontiff 1st go while me and my cousin spent ages trying to kill him!
Tipp for animation-cancel on the ashes at the end: 1) for lithric's throne, you wanna run behind it go up to its side, and than jut run straight forward and mash X. When you drop down, it should cancel the animation. It always worked for me when I tried it. 2) for the watcher' throne, I am nt sure but I think there is a little ledge before the prince's throne. Drop down there, and while you running towards the wather's throne, mash X again. So basically there are 2 dropping points, and you have to mash X (or the button that would place it).
Maaan. Mod, or Mr. Cracy? Whatever you prefer. Really digging you and your content! I had no idea a game like Dark Souls 3 could be speed runned but damn you crushed it. And while I'll never be good enough to get that level, it's super cool that you're providing advice for prospective speed runners. Also you're just an all around gem and you're sense of humor is great. Really looking forward to your future stuff!
i havent gotten into speedrunning yet but i think im gonna try BB soon as thats the soulsborne game ive played the most. I stayed to watch this whole video mostly because i just liked listening to you talking (which idk if it is weird) but anyway i love your channel and keep up the great work.
i’m getting back into the souls series after beating the second and third in high school and i just got to one and it makes me want to play through every game again
Just did my first speedrun-ish kind of run. DS3 NG+2 any % real time of 1:10:51, no quit outs. Was really doing just to rush through to NG+7 but thought it would be fun to time. Never done any real runs or studied any stats, but I think I could cut it down by at least 5 minutes just by quick menu-ing, better stamina usage, and generally running more efficiently. I might have to start doing legit runs, it was fun.
this is cool! ive never played one of these games it was fun to watch you speedrun it haha. if i ever get a play station system definitely getting one of these games.
wow! cool run! :D FYI the Anri's straight sword gives you a small hp/sec regeneration, and when you equip it you get the first "tick" of the hp regen instantly. So when you unequip-equip it fast you're healed by frekvent first hp regen ticks.
For some reason RUclips was not allowing me to subscribe to your channel. I had to wait a full day before it successfully registered that I am subscribed. Thanks for showing your route in a video! I'm probably going to be attempting to do this same run very soon. Hope to get it all recorded as well (:
I haven't ever actually speed run Dark Souls but I found that beating Gundyr is SUPER easy as the Warrior. I ran through the entire starting area and avoided all the enemies and items besides the Crystal Beast and obviously Gundyr. My strategy is to get ballsy with the Beast and try for some extra hits every now and then to get him to stagger more often. Also, using the WA for the axe before the 2 fights and in the middle when it fades away really helps. My Gundyr strategy is as basic as he is. Right before you pull the sword, buff your axe (you also can do this after pulling if you want it to last a little longer but sacrifice the initial damage). Pull out the sword and wail on him until you're out of stamina (any extra hits will merit some unwanted damage). Then dodge his attacks (typically 2-3 hit combos with long waits in between) and hit him. Once he buffs, it's really you're choice. I haven't experimented with this much but you can either re-buff your axe or tap dat booty. Repeat the dodge-and-whack strategy and he's good. His attacks now are more random from one to three hit combos but aren't the easiest to dodge and can mess up your camera. Also if you have some grudge against Warrior Cleric takes 3 hits to stagger the Crystal Beast and is very effective. Now that this is over I wonder why I posted this... OH YEAH! I wanted to tell you that I beat the Beast and Gundyr in only 3:15 which probably isn't amazing and everyone is going to tell me to git gud but it was the best I've done. I ran through and did that with every class. Anyway if anyone actually read this long-a** post I thank you!
I'm starting to play games again for the first time since mid to late 90s when duke 3d,quake and Diablo were the games to play. these new games especially DS3 look awesome but I miss coop couch mode games when you and a friend can play together and not relying on multiplayer ppl you don't know. is there a game like this that can be played either split screen or couch mode? I wish this game was because the gameplay is awesome and challenging instead of dozens of weak enemies cardboard cutouts over and over this has a nice variety that arnt just 1 hit bumps in the road.
I consider this to be god like skill if you can easily beat all bosses and expose their weaknesses that quickly. Something I'll never be able to do, this is truly impressive.
I'm so proud of you dmod lol. I've been watching those streams and it's amazing how much you've improved and now that you've master dark souls 3 (for the most part) are you gunna do a blodoborne speed run? Wether you do or not i still love ya. keep being amazing you beautiful beautiful man.
I can't watch much because i just play DS3 (last bosses i killed were Watchers and Deacons), but i thought i watch it up to where i am and then save the rest for later. Cool run so far and the commentary is great, i can learn a lot 😁
I am trying to solo every SoulsBorne game. I have already done dark souls 2 and am working on dark souls for PC and dark souls 3 for PS4. I have yet to do BB because of that dlc and I don't even own demons souls so i have to wait on that one but more of these videos would be awesome. I found this one to be really helpful. Thanks so much demod and keep up the good content
I don't think people realise but if you deplete your stamina, build it up a little bit, roll, you can start sprinting, helps a lot in pvp and speedruns.
First playthrough i didnt understand the ancient vywern fight so i just fought it like a normal boss. Almost threw my controller because "plunging attack" was written literally everywhere there could be something written.
Btw, if you're not under-leveled, it's really hard to fuck up Soul of Cinder since he does so little damage, and he gives you time to heal alot if you back-up the distance.
I'll likely do the same thing for any game I speedrun on Twitch in the future. Bloodborne is next on the list! I'll be sure to do another once the DS3 DLC comes out too
For Aldrichs' arrows: lock on him, and run in circles, it basically lets u avoid them at the same time that you will be able to see what is next. Hope it helps! :) (my last aldrich kill has an example if u wanna see it)
Last day I tried to speedrun use it anri's and it took me like 4 hours to finish it. I'm salty that anri's sword got nerfed down to 380 ar and that during my entire run none of the bosses I fought were affected by the carthus rouge bleed (pontiff, dancer, twins...) so idk, thx miyazaki
I just love this game. I usually don't like 'goth' themes and had my doubts on tackling this series - but I've come to love it. It truly deserves it's Classic status - brilliant series. 💫💯
trying to do this on ps4 with the nerfed estoc is a pain in the arse!! Has the falling quit out where you quit when you hit the floor and die to skip an area been patched or can you still do that??
What happens if you get invaded by another player? Can it happen or do you play offline? Sorry if it happened somewhere in the playthrough, i didn't watch all of it.
yeah... you can... I tried it but I suck at timing... I can easily parry his first phase but I died like 15 times before i successfully parried him for both phase 1 and phase 2
This is my exact problem, I wreck Champion Gundyr's first phase, then die instantly to his second. Some of his attacks seem to deadangle you too, so that may be one cause.
because he does mostly soulsborne content and his content will only really be watched by dark souls fans whereas other youtubers who play multiple games generally have a higher sub count.
