Costner is always a great interview always has great stories and Dan does amazing interviews I feel like there just sitting back and just drinking a beer and just talking
I watch "For the Love of the Game"...every time, I cry. Such a great story..love, devotion to the sport, discipline, extended family, sacrifice. Great sports/romance movie!! OMG.. Kelly Preston & Kevin Costner were the Perfect Couple!!!
He was great in recent roles like Molly's game and Yellowstone. Field of Dreams, Bull Durham and For the Love of the Game are among the best baseball movies ever made.
Really love and respect Kevin Costner sharing his life with us. No one can tell a story like Kevin! I could listen to him for hours. Love his laugh also! Than You Kevin for being you.
Another great interview. Loved his childhood stories with notes home. I didn't get the "belt", my Mom used a hairbrush. Also, first episode of Yellowstone. Didn't know yet what a success it would become, though he said it turned out better than he thought. Also, he used his Dad's gun in Yellowstone, nice touch.
Costner has always been a rare talent in Hollywood who actually has perspective, ethic, and integrity. JFK, Dances With Wolves, Revenge, The Untouchables, Field Of Dreams, A Perfect World, The War, Open Range, Wyatt Earp, Robin Hood - love Kevin Costner! And don't believe the hipster naysayers, Waterworld and The Postman are both quality too! Never caught that resentful decade long hate/envy train, starting around the period of Prince Of Thieves, when it became popular to glibly root against Costner and try to tear him down. Costner is consistantly charismatic, believable and engaging - british accent be damned. I'll be enjoying Yellowstone, no doubt.
octagonproplex if Kevin Costner is involved then I’m in - whatever he’s involved in - quality work that holds up - great storyteller - (and he still makes my knees weak 🙂😉)
He's a true ' AUTHENTIC AMERICAN ' the kind that money. .just can't buy He's the ONLY movie star..actor ive aways followed ..and been a fan of he morphs into his scripts ( mkes you believe your right there in the background )...and i just found out in June 2020... he sings and plays guitar stuff from the heart WOW! He's so unassuming. . a great all rounder !! May there be many more men with such integrity out there . around the world ( I'm sure there are ) . to make this world a much better place !
Growing up in a city not far from Compton and being almost the same age as Kevin it’s so interesting hearing him talk. As Southern Californians we have so much in common. Would be fun to talk to him and make all the comparisons.
Kevin is an awesome Father-actor, writer, director, producer. He is too gifted. He is too likable. One of a kind. I'm sure that he is shocked that he is such a hit actor. I first saw him in Silverado. He has great roots. He will have a humdinger of an Autobiographer with great stories. I'm Cherokee Indian and definitely love Dancing With Wolves. He will have awesome stories to tell. He is a well rounded guy- easy to relate to. He loves Gene Hackman as so do I. Show and Tell was very common. I had that program in grade school. If I were his parents, I would see his potential for creativity from an early age. If he ran for Congress, he would rival any celebrity politician. I am not wild about Liz Cheney, but he is very intelligent and charismatic. I liked Kurt Russell better as Wyatt Earp, but every other movie he made was spot on. I would love to be a fly on the wall at a dinner party of his.
THX, KEVIN COSTNER to tell this story about those of us who LOVE THE LAND!! In the end, all we have is the Land and our ability to steward & respect the land...which, in turn, will give back to us!! Pls. PRESERVE.
1976 I was 14 years old ,and I had brought my single shot 16 gauge shotgun to school that I had bought for $ 5.00 at age 12 for show and tell. We had 5 other guns in class that were illustrated that day. Gun safety was the pinnacle and a couple hunting or target practice storys followed from each student. I was raised by a single mom and had nobody to really (mentor me) hunt with as a child so I would practice accuracy and wing shooting on my own. I became very good at hitting my targets stationary -moving didn't matter. We had a great resource at the time in north western Pa. ruffed grouse and they were fast to get airborne and really evaded you quite well. With one shot available and little funds for ammo I learned to make my shots count. The meals from this bird were very tasty. The next year I had asked my Principal at the school for permission to bring along my shotgun broken down with all my shells and hunting gear in a gym bag on the public school bus and could I hunt my way back home after class dismissed for the day in the fall when grouse season opened , because by the time I got home on the bus there would be very little time to hunt in the evening? He said if you will put your bag behind my desk in the morning when you arrive at school and after the last bell rang (dismissal) that I would be allowed..I used to hunt my way home from school when I was a teen . Never was there a problem with this behavior . What has happened to America in such a short time that this is a crime now and people are even frightened of gun owners ?
I understand the struggle. At a 5'4-5'6 on the B squad of every team. Was always on the team but not considered a "Go Too".... after high-school I joined adult mma. I took the discipline I learn in HS and middle school and applied it to my adult life. Tdh I got my ass kicked for 6 months. One day I got tired of getting beat after a loss. I repeated step 1 at this point. Have not lost a battle since.
Kevin is 100% correct! The whole reason i love you guys is cuz of that "mancave" buncha dudes sitting around shoot'n the shit w/one another telling funny stories. Even when the content isnt always sports related. And how you all poke fun of one another n be kinda 'mean'. That's how I like to be around my friends. All that's missing is a couple doobies.
I played against him when he was at Buena HS in Ventura, '71, I was in Santa Barbara County in HS. CIF game. Played against Augie Garrido at Cal Poly in '72, at Hancock JC in Santa Maria, year before he went to Fullerton.
waitin on season two some time this summer,i've gottin to know Buck Taylor just a tiny bit,i like going to his page and seeing his painting,i had an artist friend here that knew him, they would sell their works at the same places at times,I got Bucks signed pic above my desk!
I love the Walt Disney story and I’m sure Walt loved that moment too. Walt was the biggest kid of us all! I remember those days when Disneyland was like Kevin described. Far cry from what it’s like now. For those of you that live in other states you wouldn’t know unless you visited it but in the old days you could buy a general admission ticket for just five dollars if you just wanted to go in and walk around.
Walt was a hideous anti-Semite… and I 1000000000000% guarantee Walt did NOT remember that encounter. Seriously? What makes you think any of that, being a grown person and knowing the history of Walt? 😂
This doing sequels thing, I had a very good friend of mine ask me why I have never contacted a woman that I had a 2 year affair with, even knowing that she is now single again. I said to him, it was what it was, that is a very wonderful time in my life and I dont wish to corrupt it. I said to him "have you ever gone back to a place you used to love going, just to be there and look around and say to yourself...hmmmm... I wonder why this place stuck out in my memories" She was and is what I measure every relationship Ive had since by, if I corrupt that in my minds eye.... where am I then??
Oh my God.... lol... Starting to cry before getting the actual spankin' and the "I'll give you something to cry about..." comment - - Remember those days, so well... ;*D
Saw dude in 90’s at Poppy Hills ( Pebble Beach ) out putting with some pros . Making the movie , Tin Cup ...... Handsome lad ( more movie star than golfer )
Yeah, that bringing the instrument of discipline to your dad. before you even got there you could already feel it. He would just be sitting there with his hand out and then tell you bend over my knees. I think that may have jump-started quite a few acting careers, or comedians. Did they all take lessons from the same book? shut up or I'll give you something to cry about, soon as you start to whimper.
Corporal punishment was still in effect my third grade year on school. Ms. Ames called me to the front of the class ordered me to open my hand then slapped it with a ruler. My classmates were stifling giggles. She sent me back to my seat. I seethed until recess.
I could listen to Kevin for hours!! The way he tells a story...there is a honesty and a warmth in this voice that is very unique.
Yeah and the view is great as well......
Me too!! I actually watched the whole Hour with SAG interview. In intervals though
Kevin Costner is amazing. Love hearing his stories!!!
he's in more of my favorite movies than anyone else. he's got an eye for quality
I love this man. He is down to earth I feel like we went the same path.
It's refreshing to see such a down to earth genuine Man.
Uhhhhh okay. I respect your take on the movie. He was still a dick to his life partner in that movie though. Again, lack of humility.
It's 2022 now...and Yellowstone is so much better than just "good". It is amazing!
This Is why everyone loves his stories Hes down to earth & enjoys him. self as well. Pkt
Yes, I have always wanted another "Mr. Brooks' movie.
I've never seen Costner as loose and funny as he is with Dan Patrick. Great interview.
I've always been a big Costner fan! Epic movies about history, the old west and Baseball. There aren't many better!
And golf!
Man, Costner is living right. Looks great, sounds great and Yellowstone is a hell of a show.
Love the disney story. Costner movies are great. Costner movie bombs are some of my top 25 favorites: Waterworld, Wyatt Earp, & The Postman
If Costner is in it,i watch it! Highwayman was a trip!
Another great interview. Loved his childhood stories with notes home. I didn't get the "belt", my Mom used a hairbrush. Also,
first episode of Yellowstone. Didn't know yet what a success it would become, though he said it turned out better than he thought. Also, he used his Dad's gun in Yellowstone, nice touch.

I’ve always been a huge fan of his since Silverado. But to add one more that’s a must see is Criminal, great movie.
Yellowstone is awesome Costner plays this role very well!!!
Meh. But I do like him.
He's a true ' AUTHENTIC AMERICAN ' the kind that money. .just can't buy
He's the ONLY movie star..actor ive aways followed ..and been a fan of he morphs into his scripts ( mkes you believe your right there in the background )...and i just found out in June 2020... he sings and plays guitar stuff from the heart WOW! Nice man, great actor who plays the parts as his own. Thank you Kevin Costner.
That Disneyland story was the best story I've heard in a LONG time.
White sox were in the moment with their old timer uniforms but booh the Yankees.
Yankees had such terrible uniforms!
So many Legendary Movies! Field of Dreams, Bull Durham, Tin Cup, No Way Out and my Favorite Dances with Wolves.
Ummmmmmmm. The Bodyguard?????
Ever since Silverado, I was always a fan. Thanks Dan and Kevin
Great program and great interviewing by Dan Patrick.
The greatest NCAA baseball coach Ron Polk wrote the book on baseball, literally. He said hitting is 90% mental.
I agree about the sports movie actors you can tell immediately if an actor has played baseball when they throw.
KC, is the best actor, ever, you never feel he's acting more like your involved in the action. I love Postman.
Yellowstone is AMAZING. First episode was great.
"We take great pride in not preparing..." Can't wait to use that line!
For Love of the Game was a GREAT movie.
That movie allowed me to teach my wife baseball! She and I love it!
Growing up in a city not far from Compton and being almost the same age as Kevin it’s so interesting hearing him talk. As Southern Californians we have so much in common. Would be fun to talk to him and make all the comparisons.
Kevin Costner is the real deal.
Can't say the same thing about his hair though.
j
Lol.....😂😂😂. maybe

Yellowstone is a wonderful series. Season 2 is just around the corner.
What a fantastic interview.Nicely done Dan!
The best interviewer and the best story teller. I was smiling and laughing right through it.
❤❤❤❤

Anybody here a fan of Fandango? One of Costner's best roles.
Loved it !
I love Fandango! It’s one of my go-to movies whenever I feel stressed. It’s like I just want to forget everything and run away with the Groovers.
Dan Patrick is a great media guy.
THX, KEVIN COSTNER to tell this story about those of us who LOVE THE LAND!! In the end, all we have is the Land and our ability to steward & respect the land...which, in turn, will give back to us!! Pls. PRESERVE.
Awesome. Like Kurt Russell when they are in a movie you know it's going to be good.
Well said man.
Except 3000 miles to Vegas. But true otherwise
Great interview.
That story about Walt Disney was excellent!

Yeah, a Mr Brooks sequel is totally on my wish list.

Love you always so very
much 😂😅❤
Kevin Costner debe tener 63 años. La verdad no está tan viejo. Sigue siendo muy atractivo. Me encanta este actor. I Love you, Kevin Costner.
I sold Costner a pair of boots 25 years ago. Nice guy.
I LOOOOOVE him so much! 💖 As an actor in movies when I watch him, and as an actor being interviewed!😍❤️❤️❤️😍❤️
I so enjoy Kevin on Yellowstone. I want this series to go on forever and hope they won’t take him to the train station.😂😮😅
I listened to your podcast at 5:30 a.m on Saturday morning. This is Alice and I especially liked the Churchill Downs. I grew up in Ky
Thomas J Murphy one of my favorite movie characters he's ever played good interview seems like a great person
Yellowstone is like a Western version of The Godfather and Costner is Don Vito Corleone. Great show!
btw i love all of of Costner's movies
McFarland U.S.A., the best of Costner's sports movies. True story. Not really about sports, I've seen it over and over.
Kevin is 100% correct! The whole reason i love you guys is cuz of that "mancave" buncha dudes sitting around shoot'n the shit w/one another telling funny stories. Kevin Costner buckled Walt Disney. Now that needs to be a scene in a movie, and Costner told the story like it was.
Love this ! I love to hear your stories!
Great interview!
Outstanding interview
Wow. This was good. Never watched before.
Kevin Costner is a G!
I love him!
Love Costner in Yellowstone great for the part. Great actor
Beach boys and Chicago was my first concert. Houston. The Turtles opened up.
I love the story about show & tell in kindergarten and he brought his dad’s 30/30.
Kevin - he's phenom! :)
Babe you just don’t know how much I really love you♥️
Kevin went to school here in Visalia,he says Visalia twice in Bullduram, his coach tells him there may for you in Visalia.Played baseball there/
I played against him when he was at Buena HS in Ventura, '71, I was in Santa Barbara County in HS. CIF game. Played against Augie Garrido at Cal Poly in '72, at Hancock JC in Santa Maria, year before he went to Fullerton.
Revenge... Message In A Bottle... Perfect World... McFarland... No Way Out... Untouchables... tons of good Costner films people rarely talk about.
Thank you for your amazing stories Kevin Costner ❤
@KevinCostner-yt6rm 🇨🇦

Yellowstone is as good as it gets.
waitin on season two some time this summer,i've gottin to know Buck Taylor just a tiny bit,i like going to his page and seeing his painting,i had an artist friend here that knew him, they would sell their works at the same places at times,I got Bucks signed pic above my desk!
Its so good and got even better as the show goes on

I know Kevin was a good runner because if you ever saw “no way out“ he had to do a lot of running in that!
This doing sequels thing, I had a very good friend of mine ask me why I have never contacted a woman that I had a 2 year affair with, even knowing that she is now single again. Please have Kevin Costner back.
I love Kevin Costner… just wish he had more humility to him. Being humble while incredibly famous goes a long way.
Oh my God.... lol... Starting to cry before getting the actual spankin' and the "I'll give you something to cry about..." comment - - Remember those days, so well... ;*D
My first wife was Snow White lol
We’re living in Compton
CLaSSIC
Love Kevin!!
Fantastic!
Love yellow stone and all theses wonderful actors
This is my man
Saw dude in 90’s at Poppy Hills ( Pebble Beach ) out putting with some pros .
Making the movie , Tin Cup ......
Handsome lad ( more movie star than golfer )
Puma is honestly surpassing Adidas right now. Look at the athletes they sponsor.
Kevin Costner needs to make a movie about SEC baseball, or any team in the SEC. Bo Jackson comes to mind. MSU Bulldogs, LSU, etc.
Hello handsome Kevin you sure look great these days ❤❤❤
I have been a fan of yours since NO WAY OUT dear Kevin. i believe you did it in 1988?
That Walt Disney story is cool!
I had a few “Character Building” sessions in the basement. “Matthew, get the belt, I’ll meet you in the basement”.
Yeah, that bringing the instrument of discipline to your dad. before you even got there you could already feel it.
