Best guitar under $600 I’ve ever played and as good as some 1K guitars I’ve owned. Love the Academy Series so much I bought one. Try one for yourself- they are truly fabulous!
Great video! Two questions: 1. Is this guitar suitable for strumming as many say it's just for finger style? 2. Which would you choose between this and GS Mini? Many thanks!
Own one, and a KOA GS mini the academy is a very underrated guitar. It sounds clear and balanced and it’s basically Les Paul scale….and cowboy chords with the best of them. Calling it a entry level guitar is pure marketing if you can’t gig a academy you can’t play.
Sounds really good. I am confused as to whether it is concert size or grand auditorium size. Taylor's web site says concert but some vendors say grand auditorium. What is the lower bout width?
I cannot believe anything that you guys say any longer. This is a great guitar for what it is, for what it was made for, and priced reasonably if you take advantage of the Baby Taylor for little sister, or the mini for travel or yourself. Layered, laminated and plywood are all the same, just as right, correct and truth or fact. Just be honest and say it's a decent guitar to learn on and you can get another at an excellent price. I cannot watch you any longer, good luck and good day
Thanks for watching the video. I always appreciate the feedback. I will have to disagree regarding your assessment of the backs and sides. An HPL or other "wood-stuff" back and sides is not anywhere near the quality of the design Taylor is implementing here. This isn't even a debate in manufacturing circles. Thanks so much for watching and good luck in your guitar pursuits!! -- joe

@@EmpireMusicPgh I honestly do not remember watching this video or making any comments. I did have a friend going through my computer a few weeks ago. He was looking for a guitar because he gave his to his daughter when he was between residences. Perhaps he left a comment. I have nothing against the guitar. I recently heard a 200 series Taylor amplified in a 3000 seat auditorium and was amazed at the sound, very minimal quack and very clear tone..I am not in the market for a guitar at present, but when I am I will definitely consider Taylor. I like their values and Andy Powers is a brilliant man.
@schism6976 yeah, slim Jimmy, that was a year ago, but it was surprisingly well written, IMO. I have no plans to buy a Taylor, but I like their people. Just not my thing.
I previously owned a 414ce but now have an A12e and a T5. Great guitars.
Sounds amazing for the price point. Their layering process must be a true breakthrough.
I played one of these recently and was impressed....she sings. I haven't been playing long but this guitar has a great sound and feel

I love this guitar! The sound is open and clear. I play it more than my 214ce.
Love Taylor guitars!

It is a grand concert for sure!
Reviews an electric acoustic but doesn't play with it electrically. Super!
😊👍
