There is no point in this test with road tyres because you cannot unleash the potential of the different AWD systems when there is no grip with the surface beneath, therefore you cannot see the difference. Personally I drive an Audi Quattro and it's a killer machine, especially on snow, but I have driven the same Land Cruiser on low speed gears on icy hill and it climbed it like a boss :)
On soft sand street tires are better than MT tires - mud terrain tires. Problem is not road tires just to high pressure in tires. Lower air presure to the 1,5 and car will drive like a tank.
The gentleman in the Q7 is a fool. The whole time driving in the terrain with low chassis. Did you have to set at least the height of the chassis to OffRoad, or the highest possible height chassis Lift. And I would not be surprised if the whole ride with activated ESP.
All three drivers should have their licenses revoked for plain stupidity. But getting stuck there with a Jeep revealed a whole new level of ineptitude.
Krasimir Dragomirov It could be, but keeping his foot on the acc after a dead stop, with the tires digging on the sand till the car is floored, didn't help either. That's why he got stuck, not a car's fault at all.
Commander is identical to my grand Cherokee under the body. Mine is the WH. I an tell you it's extremely capable. Any idiot can see the drivers technique is what made him bog.

U can't just floor it in sand and expect to make its somewhere u have to be gental with the throttle
