Also, the Levanter period was personally really hard for them emotionally. They even talk about it a little in one of their vacation vlog videos. I think Levanter is either the album they had to rerecord after Woojin left or it was right after and they were still a bit raw. So I get it.
It was amidst it I think since Double Knot was a pre-release for the album and I think that was the last track he was on? He's edited out of the Astronaut MV
@@KpopPrince it's such a weird video because they had to mess with it to make sure he wasn't in the shot. I think we don't get a lot of Levanter throwbacks because, honestly trauma.
I was around for that era and frankly it’s an album that’s taken me nearly 5 years to listen to again because for the longest time it was an album that caused me a lot of pain. But I went and listened to it for the first time since then a few weeks ago and I’m reminded of how much the album means to me personally. @KpopPrince is right in that it was amidst it, and I remember the album was actually pushed back because they had to re-record, as you guys had mentioned. Stray Kids the song and the MV made me SOB for a myriad of reasons but remembering that era was definitely one of them. I’ve had my own journey with the boys that’s been up and down since then and this was my first comeback back with them since All In, and I truly felt like it was an incredible welcome back and made me relieve all of my memories from way back then. Sorry for the essay but TLDR Levanter era makes me emotional as someone who was around for it and I agree wholeheartedly with both of your comments.
Felix's vocal range is insane. If you want to get a really good listen the song Deep End shows so much of his range. It's a beautiful song. Thanks for the reaction!!
man, i love Slash and it does get used in the movies credits, but only as the instrumental. When it kicked in i was like "OOH, there it is!!" but then their lyrics were missing...not gonna lie, i was kinda bummed, but it is what it is
Others said it was in the movie when Deadpool comes out of the apartment and the cops are there--it's Felix's part. About 20 minutes into the movie, and just a small snippet.
I listened to JJAM before the MV came out and it gave me a different vibe, the MV makes the song funnier but it still goes hard. Kinda reminds me of Venom too
In JJAM (as in many of their songs) they used wordplay with similar-sounding words that have different meanings. JAM - as in jam out (dance / play hard) JAEM - Korean word for fun They ran with the wordplay and decided to use JAM , as in the sweet stuff you spread on toast, as their video concept. So that was already fun, but they added a slight horror aspect to the video as well, which is cool.
Heya! I don’t comment very often, but I’ve been watching your videos since I think Oct/Nov 2020 and it’s been amazing watching your journey with the boys. With regards to Jjam, in all honesty I felt the same way about it as you did, though it’s quickly grown to be one of my favorite songs on the album. The MV definitely elevated it for me, as did watching live performances of it, but I think just repeated listening and getting used to the transitions helped a lot as well. I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY about Changbin’s rap on it, and the section with him and Jisung going back and forth is still one of my favorites. I mentioned it in passing in my comment to @diaphoni, but Stray Kids the MV and song just made me sob for a lot of reasons and the nostalgia and the feels that it elicited in me remembering the part just like it did for you was certainly a big part of that and I really enjoyed how you broke that down and the impact that it had. With regards to the Mixtape, it’s always been Beware to my knowledge tbh, but like you, I also just called it Grr lol I agree as well with Slash with regards to the sound and listening to it, but I do like how it works (if that makes sense, it’s late at night and I’m not sure if my brain is still functioning 😂) and the fact that it was utilized on this soundtrack (also I haven’t seen the movie but I’ve been told an instrumental version possibly plays at the end during the credits?) so that’s awesome. Thanks for another amazing reaction and sorry for this essay of a comment! 😅
4:52 Same. I laughed so hard in disbelief. OMG And 6:30, WTH they really did that?!? Yes, yes they did. LMAO btw, I still can't figure out what the rubber rafting tube sloshing jelly is about --- is it supposed to be a donut? Someone please explain. STRAY KIDS: Such an amazing song (of course, it's SKZ) with such a beautiful blend of nostalgia and present into the future. 🥰 I really love the the line "know that this is who we are" --- one of their greatest strengths is how unapologetically themselves they are and in the music they create. 10:54 For the life of me, I can't get the reference of what Felix is holding. Help! For Slash, I love this song, I often have music (ahem, SKZ) in one ear all day at work and this song has been one of those that can stay on single repeat all day -- including grocery shopping etc. It has an indescribable groove to it..... The only time I don't play it is overnight--not sure what this track might do to my dreams, lol, so I'll stick with Levanter (which I have to be my best sleep friendly single repeat song, not that it makes me sleepy but that it feels comforting, not difficult to cozy into my blankets and let it soothe my stress and allow me to drift off).
Oh I just meant that they did a blindfold dance I thought for MAMA to promote Kingdom. I think I'm confusing that with the sword dance. I have seen the blindfold one
@@KpopPrince Perhaps. I remember the performance at Gaon because it literally cemented my dedication as a Stay (had been watching them since predebut but that one.... hit home hard for me).

JJAM is also a play on words of the of the Korean vs English meanings as well as JJAM vs Jam in Korean. It’s definitely a fun song.

It isn't in the credits, its when Wade opens the door to the TVA; you can hear Felix in the background ❤
@@SKZSALLIE it is on the credit I waited until the end to make sure about that and it is
There is also a MV for Mountains, just in case you didn't see that.
I didn't!

if you want more of Felix singing higher, try Deep End, #lovestay and Cover Me. He's in his head voice for parts of those and it's beautiful

They did reference Levanter. Hyunjin in a blindfold (they did an Amazing performance blindfolded at an awards show, I think it's Gaon.).
Didn't they do that to promote Kingdom too?
@@KpopPrince which Mama?
Since Levanter was back 2019 (Kingdom, I'm not sure, because it was in 2021) Perhaps other Stay will know the answer?????
