So odd how the Mega Drive/Genesis went more for the classic game style of the first game instead of the arcade/Neo Geo and SNES version of side scrolling beat em up.
+WatcherMovie008 I love this game. But every version has something really bad about it. NeoGeo has really good music and decent playability, but the button mashing events are not programmed properly, and they are utterly broken. SNES version has a one-linear technique to beat all the game (Charge attack once and you can chunk enemies for half their health) and lacks some content. Genesis version hurts my ears with the high pitches sounds and music.
Something else I want to add. it's more fun to play this with items turned off. The monsters have vast move sets, but many moves are locked unless you get a P which upgrades your monster. For example, geon can only do the fire breath if he has 1 P and can only do the super stomp and sliding suplex if he has 2 P. Turning the items off, however, makes it so your monster has their full moveset from the get go. Oh, and his second throw (the bite) is done by mashing Kick like a motherfucker when in a grapple.
Ooooooooh, good memories. I miss this game so damn much. Geon, Giant Man, Frogger, the giant snail, and that inhuman ugly man like guy whose name will always be fun. I wish they do a remake of this. Personal Favorites: Super Geon and Beetle Monster.
The Megadrive version lacked different sound files for the monsters (all sound like Geon) and the music wasn't as good as the SNES version. It also didn't have King Famardy other than the Game Over screen, but used it properly. However, it let you play as all 9 monsters complete with unique attacks. Amusingly, the most broken character was actually Huge Frogger. See, he had a hidden chain grapple technique not included in any online guides and that i only found out about when i tried to beat the game on Difficulty 8 and he decided I needed to die. His throw is performed via an input of Down, Up+punch. However, as soon as he hits the ground, QUICKLY put in another Down, Up+punch and he;ll do the throw again. Do it AGAIN when he hits the ground and he'll do a final, huge slam. Best yet, due to his transport move and his slide kick, he can bypass blocking and easily make the foe tired. When a foe is tired, they take double damage on the next attack. Making them tired then successfully pulling off the chain grapple will basically strip the foe of 75% HP.
I'd say Cyber Woo was the most broken. If you spam his spinning torso attack (I forgot its proper name) your opponent can't touch you and dies in no time
Now if only they put the elements of the Arcade version into this version, which basically a Versus game... Or even better, having the best of both worlds which is having the original arcade story and Versus mode (including 1 or 2 player vs computer) together. If only something like the Arcade Archive would allow it...
The only enemy I could beat on this game was Claw Head. The only one I could beat him with was Claw Head. Granted, I was a kid and barely knew what I was doing and only spammed his tongue 👅 attack.
At 24:28: I love that Huge Frogger died & hit the Twin Towers & then it says you win... There's a new Conspiracy Theory for ya.
Don't forget the two jets that passes by.
It’s pretty clear how much Godzilla Domination took from this game.
I'm so happy that this longplay came out right after the first one, since I only played this one as a kid.

Best victory animation ever.
God, I wish that Kaijus had victory dances like these in the movies.
Just imagine 2014 Godzilla headbanging to some far-off metal concert while stomping dudes.

Miss these oldies from my childhood
1:53 Atomic Guy face and cheek looks like he's gotten beatdown yesterday.
Why all monsters in the game sound like showa godzilla???

Legion Beast graphics are excellent here easily surpassing SNES
I could never get the chain slam to work. It used to drive me crazy cause the cpu would spam it.
@@Stradus07 It's REALLY tight. You have to hit the down -> up -> Punch input RIGHT as you land.
The bosses didn't have their unfriendly and grotesque deaths anymore.
Wait, isn’t that announcer recycled from Fatal Fury?
Yes.
this version is not get history mode???
you mean the story mode?
is there any way to defend from the mega stomp?
Jump *right* before he lands and he'll miss.
Where is the arcade final boss,it is not included in the game.Missing in Action?
This version removed Famardy in compensation now the player is able to select the rest of the monsters.
