Thanks Adam&Elodie. I really resonated with this conversation being an off-grid astrologer/ solitary scholar myself. In particular, for me, the idea of integrating my astrological studies into my whole way of life from the way i plant foods, keep bees, manage forests and prepare food, has really given me great perspective in the way i now practice. I see my environment as a great mirror for cosmic symbolism, and combined with tuning out of media and society, it's a great place for contemplation. I know this lifestyle isn't possible for everyone, (and i don't by any means think you have to have this lifestyle to be a good astrologer), and I'm so grateful everyday to have this opportunity and embrace all the sacrifices. Thanks Elodie for your wise words, especially the point about connecting with what ones true purpose is, in order to keep the ego in check and not be sucked into the daily grind of running a spiritual business. This "sweeping the floor" ritual is something i often think about when chopping wood or foraging and i realise my purpose for practicing astrology is to keep the tradition alive. So thank you again for this connection, and may the fungi continue to connect our shared interests across the world 😉
This really hits home for me- very beautiful Elodie in so many ways and super funny! Yes- it is simple in Nature. Agreed. I made peace with this by working in the city and most weekends at a small place my hubby and I purchased 2 hours into Wisconsin near a lovely lake and natural bird rookery. The fast-busy pace of city life in Mpls suburbs was really getting to me- but I didn't want to pull my kids from their schools. So our best family decision ever- was 7 years ago- Awe the gift of 2012- finding this cabin not really off the grid- but close enough. I love that my cell phone barely works- however now that I have joined your Ancient Astrology class- I am getting basic WiFi- actually my hubby is doing this for me- because he knows the importance of my continued learning and yes it now involves being online. I am so grateful. Tuning into nature's seasons and cycles has kept me sane. Tuning into the Sunrises and sunsets- paying witness to the sky- the clouds, the stars has given me my life back in many ways- has made my marriage stronger because we aren't distracted by all the NOISE and chaos and yes the meditative moments are abundant. "Be Still My Soul" comes to mind- my favorite mind meditation. Thank you for this episode! So much love back at you both! I really appreciate how Adam listens to his person being interviewed and allows them time to speak.
I thought the same thing...Adam is so wonderful at asking meaningful questions. He's doing really beautiful work. Happy you found a nice little piece of paradise where you can find some quiet.
Thank you Adam and Elodi...perfect timing for me.. Been flooded with images about living closer to nature, homesteading, and living in connection with animals. Had my first taste of raw milk yesterday. I felt healed and renewed.
Thank you both for doing this interview. This idea is so wonderful for those of us who rarely get to speak with other astrologers! Love to hear more about individual styles!
Excellent conversation! Very stimulating, and it's encouraging to be reminded of how diverse and fascinating the astrological community is. A friend of mine has Mars rising in Scorpio as well, and he was quite destructive till he discovered welding and machining. Now he's a professional machinist and welder and has found an interest in sword-making!
@@the9thhouseastrology Thanks for the great interview. Elodie I'd love to hear what you were about to say at the end, about how you see the nodes as battery cells. Could you say anything about what you mean? I have a friend with Mars rising in Sagittarius - no knives at all, but she has a lot of trouble with her health, and a lot of drive and career motivation (though unable to work).
About the Nodes being like a battery in the chart: I like to think that wherever the Nodes are in the birth chart can be seen as a point where there is a ''current'' or a charge. The axis works a little bit like a battery with the current passing between the 2 points. The two Nodes are necessary and work together. I don't really prescribe to the South Node being something we have to leave behind and the North Node being a place we need to ''step into''. I think the currents tends to move back and forth between those 2 points depending on what is happening in our life, and how the Nodes are being triggered by transits, sometime embodying more the quality of our South Node and sometime embodying the quality of the North Node but ultimately they work together, and ''powers'' up our chart...our life. I like to think that the Nodes describe an important dialogue that happens in our life, a back and forth, that creates a charge a current...just like a battery. Does that make sense?
@@the9thhouseastrology Yes - thanks very much for sharing that, very interesting, and helpful to have a fresh take on them. I haven't really resonated with the south node being what is left behind, in part because the ruler of my ascendant is Venus conjunct the south node (in the 12th house in Virgo). Though 'letting go' has and continues to be a big part of my life. I really appreciated your reflection on Mars rising also, as I have several friends with that, though it expresses quite differently to you. And I have Uranus conjunct my ascendant, so getting more comfortable with that is an interesting process. I need to stop trying to fit in and be normal! I also feel a deep connection to nature so resonate strongly with the way you've adapted and integrated your work, values and lifestyle together. Thanks for being original :)
The9thHouseAstrology I really like that explanation. What do you think your conceptualization says about the nature of the pair of houses that they're active in? Is it possible it entwines the two houses in some manner? If that's the case, I can see it bearing out in the charts of my partner and I. We both have the nodes in our 2nd/8th Houses and decided not too long into our relationship to pool our finances and to make no distinction between one another's finances! How strange! Thoughts?
I loved this conversation, thank you both! I was brought up with astrology, (my mother was a biology teacher, and made all the horoscopes of the students to understand them better, and I know it was not easy at this time of the late sixties for her, it was not easy for me, I felt a bit like an alien when I was a student, when I was in High School.
Really enjoyed listening to this thought provoking conversation! Your videos are always great Adam and I look forward to them, - they go way beyond astrology into spirituality and the bigger picture.. 🇮🇳
Wow. What a real take on both parts of relaying this place of astrology. Enjoyed your content. Love your channel , just connected here a couple weeks ago. I am following other people who are working on off the grid life places,,not necessarily astrology bound but life fulfillment places in their life. Thanks for this information and interview with Elodie. Was very enlightening. C

Could someone please help out a struggling astrologer here? I want to find online resources that connect astrological transits with environmental/ecological events (ie: the Amazon Fires recently). Anybody have any websites or RUclips videos to recommend? My underlying philosophy that I'm approaching astrology with is how to help people connect with the essence or soul of nature by linking the heavens and the Earth.

Just across the ocean road from me. So glad to see this.
Can you recall and share the name of the artist you both referenced for custom birth chart art that really illustrated your life based on the chart?

I had done a painting of a birth chart for my niece @SarahLunaRiley
I have not really seen others. Would love to see more. Who was this artist?
😍😚😁
